I found some tutorials on the web of how to create an infrared remote control by using a headphone 3.5 mm jack and 2 IR leds... You basically have to connect the leds to the 3.5 mm plug... And connect them with reverse polarity. I cant get this to work on my Galaxy Nexus, Galaxy Tab 10.1, my friend's Galaxy S2 and another friend's iPhone 4.....if anyone manage to get something similar to work, please tell me what you did.

There is a good DIY tutorial here:

I just saw some guys mentioned that they are not sure hdmi or mhl functionality of note 3 and few people discussion MHL/ hdmi output. I write this to told you all who cares HDMI output of note 3. I am sure to tell that note 3 support MHL, which is is an industry standard for a mobile audio/video interface that allows consumers to connect mobile phones, tablets and other portable consumer electronics (CE) devices to high-definition televisions (HDTVs) and audio receivers. (here is the official link , shows that note 3 support MHL).
Therefore, if you guys who want to display note 3 via the MHL port of note 3 to a HDTV screen, all you need is a MHL to HDMI converter.
And also, found a video guide for reference: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4NjUJN10m_Q
Any questions on MHL or HDMI, please give your feedback here. I am ready to help.
I can't get MHL cable to work through HDMI on TV.
I am using this cable. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I am using the 11 pin adapter. The cable works with my galaxy s3 but not note 3. I read it could be a kit kat issue. I am running MOAR_S5_Port v5 10-26-14. http://forum.xda-developers.com/note...5port-t2836713
Anyone else have this problem?
Hello,
Has anyone had the same problem with Note2 ?
When I connect to my samsung led tv with the mhl adapter , the picture on the tv is very pixelated.
The tv shows a 30hz message when connected op phone.
Does anyone know why this is happening. My phone is on android 4.3.
I have the same issue i have a Samsung smart 40 inch tv but when i play games it is laggy because of the 30hz but my tv supports 200hz any solution or mods to fix this issue?
Are you using the official Samsung mhl adapter or a third party one?

Yes official mhl adapter. Worked fine in an older note 2 on 4.1.2 custom rom.
The same problem occurs in another Samsung galaxy phone (galaxy mega ) on stock 4.2.2.
Maybe Samsung changed something in newer updates ?
So as the title stated, I cant use my Galaxy A5 with MicroUSB to HDMI so I can display my phone to my monitor / TV.
I have read everywhere that Galaxy A5 can't use this feature. But is there I can do to enable it? is it disabled at the kernel? will I can use it if I root it and change the kernel?
Thanks before..
+1!!!
as far as i know, the A5 doesn't have hdmi capabilities.
you have screen cast lol, just buy miracast for tv, ts like 20€ from ebay and it works
I've got a s5 neo (SM-G903F) and picked up an 11pin USB MHL 2.0 to HDMI cable in the hope of connecting my phone to my TV but it only charges phone and doesn't display phone screen on any of TVs in my house.
Seems phone is not MHL compatible
Just wondering if there is away around this or a different way to mirror my phone screen to my TV?
I have same question-problem
Can be done anything to "make" S5 Neo work with MHL Hdmi adapter?
Quite disappointment this missing feature, im even thinking to sell and change to "old" S5 .
S5 neo does not suppot ML. The phone is a downgrade of the original S5 in some areas.
So I want to hook up my phone (Galaxy S7 edge) to a composite (input) display.
Does anyone know if there is a mhl or whatever type adapter that would give my phone video and audio out thru RCA Jack's (yellow red and white)
Thanks in advance.

No one? Surely someone has wanted to connect to some older screens in cars that only have composite inputs.
