Cm7 with JB Partition layout - Galaxy S I9000 General

Hi guys I want to know is there any way go Change cm7 partition layout to jb partition layout... I like cm7 performances but I don't like its low storage in data data. I used the script but im very unhappy with that....

Looks like you or somebody else has to compile a custom ROM with the CM10 partition layout.

It is easy to do, but the issue is that there is no kernel supporting cm10 layout on cm7.2

[Q] partition layouts

Hi.
How do i know which of the partition layouts to choose for myself:
cLK 150MB System/5MB Cache (ClockworkMod Recovery v3.0.2.5)
or
cLK 140MB System/5MB Cache (ClockworkMod Recovery v3.0.2.5)?
the rom you want to dlash will usually tell you what to use.
Or, if you unzip the rom, check the size of the system folder once extracted, , make the partition size a little bigger, , say 5, 10 meg.
more infos please
which rom you want to flash? it depends on the rom which partition layout you need.
greetings

Are u talking of this [25.May.11][MAG/cLK]TyphooN CyanogenMod 7 Nightly v3.3.3[2.3.4][A2SD][tytung r10]? Cuz if u are then i really don't think u should be flashing such a build seeing as u r fairly new to the flashing world...XDA user "Tyween" seemed quite clear when he wrote ;
"With the help of crawlingcity and rafpigna on IRC, I bring you my CyanogenMod 7 ROM flashable by CWM. Currently A 140MB system partition and 5MB cache partition is required. Any system partition over 140MB will work, but will leave less NAND space for /data/ (which means less room for internally installed applications). The system partition size of this ROM used to be 125MB, but it has grown in size. With that said, 140MB is fine for now, but 150MB is what I would recommend to people who would rather not bother with repartitioning later if the system size grows again. Links to both 140MB and 150MB partition sizes are linked to later in this post. I plan to update this to the latest nightly frequently and keep up with the latest fixes. The purpose of this build is to port the latest stock CyanogenMod 7 Desire (bravo) base to HD2 with the minimal amount of changes required with no custom apps. Keep in mind that this is my personal build and I am sharing it with you."
The above "1st' paragraph means since d system partition used 2 be 125MB but has recently grown to 140MB then its most likely it'll increase in d future to 150MB, so its best to flash 150MB NOW rather than have to re-wipe ur partition ( & ROM) ltr on...So just flash 150MB.

you right!
thank you
but i've downloaded this 150 version, but can't flash...
getting error
yeah cLK is more difficult to flash than MAGLDR, but there are a lot of guides you can use. Just look into the Stickies-Rollup-Thread in the NAND developers forum.
I think there are better roms to flash than the Typhoon CM7 (its a good one but with a lot of little problems). You can try the CM7 of Pongsters Hyperdroid which is a lot faster thanCM7 builds and there are a lot of informations in his Thread(FAQ).
Hope i can help you out with this informations.

Yeah. i can't figure out if sweedish spring or what its called should work with my blade which is using the new memory layout. i want froyo. and i prefer a clean rom. not any zte ****. C:
What do you mean by new memory layout, i.e. the partition layout or the extra RAM?
Have you seen Ginger Stir Fry, it's Gingerbread without the ZTE Stuff?

[Q] Convert Ext4 back to Ext3?

Hello gents/ladies, I recently decided to change things up a bit, and flashed from CM 7.0.3 to Darkside Sense v3.0.0. As part of installing the new ROM, the file system was changed from Ext3 to Ext4. I have decided to go back to CM7, this Sense 3.5 Rom is just to buggy and laggy for me.
My question is, not knowing a whole lot about the difference in the two file systems, do I need to convert back to an Ext3 filesystem to run CM7, and if so, how do I safely go about doing this? I have searched around the forums, but have not found a definitive guide on how to do this, if it is necessary.
Thanks in advance for helping a n00b out

That's definitely what I'm trying to figure out, still searching.
Note: More searching reveals that Gingerbread ROM's use an Ext4 filesystem? If this is the case, then originally installing CM7 on my phone would have already been an Ext4 filesystem?? If so, I don't know why I was thinking it was converted by installing the Sense 3.5 ROM.

Ics rrom

Hi everyone. Im right now in Gb rooted android, and i want to try Ics.
Any suggestion of wich rom install? I looking for the best perfomance and not

And other question, if a do now in gb, a cwm backup, can i restore later if

I must first back to my rom and kernel (one time i am in ics) to restore the cwm backup or if im on ics can i restore de gb backup??
Thanks in advance.

To me i like lp9 ics. When in ics do not use the cmw to restore it will break your phone just flash the gb via pc odin if dont like the ics.
or u can try CM9 based roms like Asylum or ParanoidAndroid
If your in ics dont factory reset or recovery data wipe. Very important reminder.
Ok

No they are based on CM9, so they are safe. But, flash them from GB or another CM9 rom, not ICS official roms.
They don't have s pen button abilities as that is samsung framework.

ok, but i really use s pen abilities, then i need to choose another rom...
then other advice of other rom?
thanks again, again, again...
Many people hardbreak their phone when they flash the paranoid rom while running in ics. Read carefully before flashing. As andrew88 said flash it in gb paranoid and cm9.

I think all of custom rom do not use s pen abilities only stock ics.

But you still might not get the button functions. The button does in fact work in Papyrus though.
But, the button won't work in the ROM itself because its not Touchwiz.

thanks for the clearup ... im not an avid user of the s-pen by the way ..
i did install catch and freenote just to get a feel of it but the apps dont stay long in my note
imo paranoid is the best looking rom but some apps dont run with it so i come back to official lpy with speedmod kernel it is good too.

I'm using CleaNote 1.02, very easy to install if you are already rooted and have CWM recovery. Just copy the zip file to the sdcard and flash it from CWM recovery.
It's ICS LQ3 with speedmod K3-3 kernel (safe). Everything works, and you have all Samsung apps (although I disabled most of them).

[Q] Stock Rom support with ext partition

Can we all get a stock rom which supports increased app storage partition? Please the devs out there you have been doing incredible work on our device, but i am tired of switching ROMs every other day. Need a stock rom with support for extended storage partition.
I don't think there are enough devs, and do you think we can just re partition and start using stock rom ???
