Windows 8 not recognizing Nexus 7

Hello,
several days ago, I installed Windows 8 64bit on my laptop. The problem is, that Windows does not recognize that Android device was connected. If I connect Nexus 7 (or HTC Vision Z, which I have too), nothing happens. Both devices have developer mode on. Neither of them recognizes that they are connected to PC (they don't offer me the connection mode mtp/ptp or mass storage).
Windows update is done, there are no new updates.
I've tried installing PDAnet_Drivers_64bit.exe, without luck. Yes, I've tried RAW drivers from WugFresh, but I can't install drivers for device, that is not present in Windows Device Manager (or can I? How?).
Laptop is Dell Latitude E6410.
Nexus 7 is running stock Android (4.2.2).
HTC Vision Z is running CyanogenMod 7.2 (I'm mentioning it just for complete picture of mine situation, I need to get Nexus working).
Thank you for your time, attention and hopefully help.
I am running x64 Win8 at home, and I just went to Asus's site to install their N7 USB drivers, right-clicked on the .exe file and selected "Run as Administrator", and they installed fine.
I do not run adb/fastboot/Android SDK on my Win8 machine, I do all that work with my Win7 laptop.
Thank you, I will try it when I get to PC again.

Hi,
Try re-installing the drivers.
If you don't have proper drivers for USB, try any one of these:-
1. PdaNet
2. Universal Naked Drivers
3. MTP Drivers.
This might solve your problem.

Nexus 4 MTP Issues

I have accidentally uninstalled the MTA / PTP driver for my nexus 4 when uninstalling existing drivers for my nexus 4 to install drivers that would work with adb. Now whenever I plug my nexus in, the computer does not recognize it as a storage device. I am currently waiting to install android sdk tools to try and resolve issue, but I cannot find the drivers for the mta connection. Currently only the ptp connection and adb connection work. I also have tried uninstalling all drivers related to nexus or google and that has not resolved anything.
For storage the N4 uses windows media player's drivers. Check functionality of wmp. Maybe reinstall those drivers or try rollback.

Universal Naked Drivers 0.72
Fixed me up :good:
I have resolved the problem by uninstalling the previous driver completely then reattaching my phone to the PC.

[Q] Nexus 10 Not Recognized in Windows 7

Hi all,
I bought a Nexus 10 recently and updated it to kitkat 4.42. I wanted to root it, so I downloaded the latest NRT and proceeded to follow the instructions. This started out with uninstall previous drivers, lunching USBDeview and uninstalling everything related to the Android.
BUT, when I plug my nexus 10 into my PC with windows 7, I get the message, driver installation unsuccessful. It doesn't show up as storage either. However, it does charge and it does say"connected as media device" on the nexus. I tried switching from MTP to PTP and back, but no go.
So I plugged it into my windows 8 laptop and it DOES appear as storage on it and works fine. It makes it sound like its an issue with my PC or windows 7.
Any ideas on how to fix this? I'm only on my laptop when I work so its quite annoying to have to only transfer files from there.
Thanks in advance!
Download the android sdk. This contains thr drivers. Then install the drivers manually.

Windows 10 PC won't recognize my Nexus 10

Any Idea why my Windows 10 PC won't recognize my Nexus 10? When I connect my Nexus 10 to my PC via USB it makes a sound but won't appear under devices. If I click on FTP on my Nexus 10 it does recognize but it won't work when it's on MTP. Any idea of what's going on? Thanks.

It sounds like you may have a problem with your drivers. You can either install them on your own you can use Wug's Toolkit.
Thanks that worked. I was sure I installed the drivers correctly but I guess I didn't. I used wugs toolkit which made it super simple.
