So my USB cable came out of the tablet while the screen said entering download mode and had Acer in the middle too, inside DotNetDetector the green bar wasn't even at 25%. Now it's stuck in a black screen and I cant figure out what to do. Nothing seems to be working.
EDIT: I got it to work, just finished installing CWM and looking for roms now.

So, I would appear to have done something nasty to my SGS. Right now I don't seem to be able to even turn it on. A few minutes back, it would turn on, but I would have a phone and PC seperated by --!-- on the screen.
I can get into 'download mode' though. I just don't seem to be able to flash anything to it...
It either gets to 'DO NOT TURN OFF TARGET!!' and then does absolutely nothing, or it goes about 10-15% on the Odin progress bar, the screen goes all one colour (red, grey, white) and the progress bar goes no further.
Do you think the on board memory has become corrupted?
I'm using Odin3 v1.0 with Pit512 and a whole variety of different firmwares. I was on JG5 with the redirect to a partition on the SD card for speed fix.
As I type this, finally I've managed to flash JM1 on, but as it boots, after the animation, the screen stays blank, with the two side buttons lit up.
Any ideas?
In the end I rebooted my PC, just kept trying and eventually one went through... how odd. Took 2 to 3 hours
All seems to be working now though, with speed fix too
Hey! I got sort of the same problem... Black screen with the side buttons lit up, after some flashing.
What firmware did work for you at last?
Ciao!
Erm, the last 2.1 firmware... JG2? All 3 components of it. (Code, CSC and Phone)
Hi guys, I just got my Intercept, and after following this video, my screen won't display anything. It's like the screen is not plugged in but the phone is on. It still makes noises and you can still feel it vibrating, the bottom and keyboard lights still come on. This happed after the point in the vid when the download finished and the phone restarted, except my phone didn't restart. It just sat there, doing nothing. I can't get into recovery mode, or download mode. When plugged in, the PC still recognizes the phone, but it isn't mounted so I can't access any files.
Is there anything I can do? Or is it completely bricked?

No link to the vid. I have a good feeling what you did is used the file that came with SWUpdater instead of a file made for the intercept. Which means you have a samsung moment system on your phone. There is no known way to recover from this as it has happened to several. It isnt completely bricked no but it is a paperweight.
hi there everyone, i have verizon variant of the s7 edge. yesterday my screen started to shutter when in an app and the eventually would go black, although the phone would still be on because the back and recent apps buttons on the bottom would still be lit. ive read on line and watched videos saying to do a hard reboot, didnt work. as of now it is completey black nothing will show. the lcd still works becasue the boot animation will still show. i am not able to get into recovery more or download mode. but i am able to get into maintance mode, ive tried a factory reset through maintance mode and didnt work the phone would just boot into the black screen. the phone is completely stock, no root or anything. Any help is appreciated.
Try to use smart switch and do an emergency software recovery.
Also, what does it do when you try to get into download mode?
When i try to get into download mode by using volume down, home button, and power, nothing happens its another black screen. Was hoping I could get into download mode to try to reflash the stock firmware. Also I can't use smart switch app because the screen is completely black when I turn it on.
Hey, I broke my op2 screen so I bought one from ebay, teared it apart all correctly (i'm a computer technician), installed the new screen, all fine but a weird symptom appears:
- It boots and shows the Oneplus logo then screen all black. I know it booted cuz the touch buttons work and i can ear the sound of unlocking etc. Also if i plug into the pc I can easily access its memory.
- If I try to enter recovery I know it enters too but the screen is all black, the only mode I can see the screen is fastboot mode and it stays and acts normally.
- I did a full reset on the phone back to stock via adb, thinking it was software, its all stock now, still the same occurs
Im out of ideas so I just think the screen is faulty from ebay, did this happened to anyone?
Thanks in advance
So i once took my phone to charge before going to bed and the next morning the screen was just black and the phone was "dead". The screen was black, nothing reacting. Rebooting was possible, but screen still black. I went through a whole night trying to figure out whats wrong and lastly i flashed the stock rom using the recovery tool and accidently ended up locking the bootloader with a non working screen.
Today the replacement screen arrived, i connected the new one, restarted the phone and still its just the screen lighting up a few seconds then turning off as soon as the redmi should appear. It does look like its not the screen but still something in the software. Is there anything i can still do to rescue the phone or is it just dead?
greetings

Try going into the stock recovery mode through hardware buttons (Hold Vol+ and Power) and try and factory reset.
