I have a question regarding performance. I have a MB525 (red lense), with the JORLA_U3_3.4.2_108-2_R02_SIGNED_USAJORDMR1B25RETLALA01F.0R_JORLAFRORETLALA_P008_A005_M001_HWp3_WIG147146_Service1FF as my base ROM. I'm currently on Quarx's 5/12 CM10 ROM, and performance is really good, the user experience is the smoothest I've had in all the ROMs I've flashed. I'm using Interactive Governor, and my OC settings are 300/20, 600/35, 800/45, 1100/59. Now the deal is that for some reason Quadrant benchmarks give me a really low score, lower 2D and I/O scores, even though I feel that the actual user performance is a lot better with the 2nd Boot ROM.
I must admit that with my current Vsel settings, this is the lowest I've ever undervolted, and in my previous benchmarks I might have been OC'd to 1.2 ghz, but I don't think a 100 mhz difference would change the scores that much, especially regarding the I/O score.
Should I be worried about this drop in score? Or is Quadrant simply acting up?

I'm in the same situation.
Same phone, same cm10 quarx rom...
1200 in quadrant, i have
400 32vsel
700 40vsel
1000 54vsel
1300 67vsel
Lowest score: 2d graphics and i/o.
Very interesting Would be nice if someone could explain it.
I tested some roms with Antutu and Quadrant.
WiuiGB:
Antutu 2912-3131
Quadrant 1883
MiuiICS (Braun's):
Antutu 2272
Quadrant 1755
CM10 (Quarx's Early April Nightly 2ndboot):
Antutu 3064
Quadrant 1167
Quadrant score is much lower on CM10 with 2ndboot, but Antutu is pretty high.

Hello i am new and looking to learn a little bit.My next question for you all is what kernal/rom combinations do you use? what are your quadrant/linpack scores and what is your battery life like??
I am using
Epic experiance rom
With xtreme kernal
setcpu overclocked to 1.2 conservative
Quadrant 1030
Linpak 9.591
PyRo
Heroic Epic w/ Extreme Kernel
SetCPU 1.2 GHz Interactive
Quadrant = 988 (1200 when oc'd to 1.6GHz)
What do you mea by linpack/quadrant scores? I'm a bit new to rooting and haven't seen anyone talk about that yet
quadrant and linpack are available in the market
quadrant benchmarks cpu,I/O and 3d graphics
linpack behcmarks the cpu and looks at floating point operations per second.
PyRo
I'm running Cyanogen Mod 7 v 2.5 Gingerbread on my HD2 which is clocked at 1.536Ghz.
Best quadrant score I could pull was 1418, with results being inconsistent every time I run the test.
Best score in linpack was 41 MFLOPS.
Best CPU bench score was 672ms.
Now, don't get me wrong. I know these scores are a def improvement over stock and nothing to sneer at, but I've seen HD2's that only run at 1.1 - 1.2Ghz with Froyo in the 1600+ Quadrant/60 MFLOPS+ CPU bench range.
I'm kinda stumped here. What's up?
I'm using MiniCM RC1 rom with OC.But it doesn't have any different between OC/non-OC
I just want to ask what would affect the score in benchmark and could you tell about your marks?
ps:English isn't my mother language I wish you could understand what I'm talking about

I have 869 as my lowest score and 1069 as my highest. I'm using Racht's Floyo v0.15. Also, If you overclock only ur Cpu scores increase. At the bottom you should see your CPU score.

The current OC avail for the X8 is for the CPU only. However, you might see an increase in the performance of mem, 2D and 3D performance.
Check out the CPU scores on quadrant, since this will be most affected.
Factors that affect benchmarks: in quadrant, theres a hack which increases scores by fooling quadrant to think a test was completed but actaully not done. this is the default of minicm and most HTC ROMS. Memory and Cache settings also affect the benchmark scores.
Right now, my X8 on RC1 MiniCM with 748 OC has a constant 1200+ quadrant score with Stagefright true and 550 with Stagefright false. 45+ FPS in Neocore. 1020+ on Antutu System Benchmark.
Running services can slow down your phone and lower your score.
So Qualcomm just released an awesome new benchmarking tool, its quite comprehensive, go check it out:

Curious what kind of scores everyone is getting.
On the bonsai 0.1.6 ROM, OC @ 1.4ghz I am getting 1201
Share yours, along with ROM and OC (if any)!
949 on purely stock GT.
Sent from my badass Galaxy Tab 10.1.
951 Stock
949 TouchWiz (Wifi)
I wonder why there are such drastic differences between stock and TW Quadrant scores (17xx vs 22xx).

This benchmark focuses more on user experience. Quadrant has very low level tests that are surely effected more by slight hardware optimizations. Also I have never seen consistent scores on quadrant (they fluctuate +/- 200) With this I am consistently getting the same score within 5-10, which is nice.
952 - stock, unrooted
1170, bonzai ROM 0.1.3 overclocked to 1.4Ghz.
Hi,
as i'm using my iconia a500 i noticed some heavy Performance issues. i rooted and installed several Roms but my Quadrant score keeps being low. right now i am on lightspeed 1.0.1 with Richard's Kernel and my Quadrant score is only 656!!!
i'm really curious about this any suggestions?
thanks in advance
kiark
Just a guess, but the cpu probably is not running full during the test. Might have to use a app to force to 1000 during the test.
Running 2.4 kernel? If so, the default intersctive scaling governor is borked so either use setcpu to change to on demand or flash back to 2.3. Im personally running 1.6ghz as max speed with on demand.
thank u very much, setting the cpu up with setcpu worked!
CPU really does not have much effect on quadrant score. It is the combination of the Rom and the kernel it self.
Sent from my SGS-t959 using XDA Premium App
IM using the xoom 3.2 rom
My acer is over clocked to 1.5 and here are my benchmark scores.
Useing Quadrant I got 3421 (best of three runs) and frame rates around 45
Useing Linpack I got 45.438 mflpos on single thread in 1.85 seconds and
71.53 mflops on multi-thread in 2.36 seconds again best of three runs
Useing AnTuTu Benchmark I got a score of 6159 and frame rates right at around 60 fps
Useing Vellamo (its new and a benchmark tool for a tablets browser to see how ell the browser performs does things like java and flash stress tests and load speeds of web pages) I got a score of 1072

not sure on this. if it doesnt have much effect why do you see such a huge difference between 216 Mhz and 1.5 Ghz clock speeds in quadrant?
