Any one know why the nexus 4 has lower quadrant scores than other phones using the same chipset, even with using custom roms and kernels? Like the optimus G or HTC Dna?
It's presumably because it's using a software version that Quadrant doesn't yet fully support. This has happened in the past with Android OS updates. I wouldn't put any stock in Quadrant; it's not a very good indicator of actual device performance.
Not to mention you're beta testing Android 4.2 for Google along with a 3.4 kernel.
Ordered my Nexus 4 on Nov. 13th. Still waiting.
It was the same with Antutu before they updated, now the nexus 4 gets great scores on that benchmark.
Maybe Quadrant will be updated soon.
Bench mark scores mean absolutely nothing.

I am running 4.010.13 with Richards kernel oc to 1500 and my quad score was 2300. My brothers Droid x3 scored 2500. Also I see scores all the time well into the 3500 for the a500.

i get 3000+ running minimalist only oc'ed to 1.2
When I of to 1.2 I only get a score of 1600!
How is is that rom by the way? Any bugs?

Runs amazing much better then stock although I am noticing a significant battery drop :-\
I might try out that rom. All of a sudden my tab feels like its slowing down and lagging a lot! I do not know what is causing it to slow down but I am going to try another rom that will hopefully fix it. :-[

Trying out some different kernels and noticed the three common settings are stock 446 and 484. Most are going back to 446. Was there a problem with 24/7 484?

Every device performs different than the other. I over clocked mine at 520mhz and it's been very stable for 3 days so far no problems. My fps when I ran nenamark 2 went from 55.2fps to 59.9fps

Alright so as you know I have a nexus 4 I have paranoid android 3.5 with faux123 1.9ghz kernel. Yesterday I was running 1.8ghz and got 21383 score on antutu. Anyways the problem is that I think I meat up the cpu. Because it got really hot and when I tried to retry antutu I got 11000 and when I go back to faux123 over clocks app and I set the CPU to 1.8 and run the test when I go back to the app its at 1.3 or 1.1ghz
Did I blow the cpu or what??? Please help!!

no, you didn't blow up anything.. but be careful next time, because you can lose the phone. Nb: Benchmarks are useless, you can blow up your phone, only to see 25k+ on antutu :|
sorry for my bad english.
Thermal protection probably kicked in, preventing the frequencies of your cpu to go any higher, and this to protect your phone.
You shouldn't run multiple benchmarks back to back, since it heats your phone up by alot, and can cause issues.

Alright thanks guys now I know.

first off, your phone will not blow up. if it gets way to hot, itll shut down. secondly, benchmarking and heat go hand in hand. when you benchmark, expect heat. if you are benchmarking antutu, and the tempurature does not go up, then you are doing something wrong. your score lowered the second run because you didnt let your phone cool down first.
Why ppls always running behind benchmark score ?!!

running behind benchmark scores? huh, what do you mean by that?
Another reason why there's no need to over clock the Nexus 4.

Benchmarks can provide some (very inaccurate) indication of how good a device/ROM is performing but generally they have very little use. Personally I see them as a waste of time and definitely don't recommend OCing to achieve a better benchmark score, especially on a phone as smooth as the nexus 4.

K guys.. I am not sure if its 4.3 or something else.. Can someone confirm.. I used to get 18000+ on my 4.2 n4 and over 24000 with faux overclocking kernels for 4.2
Now i am getting 14000 - 16000.. With 4.3..

it's 4.3 and new update of antutu....
you can use custom rom/kernel or some tweaks so you'll get over 23k
Just you...

Will try the cm 10.2 but its still nighty.. And regarding kernels I was always under the impression that faux and franco gives the best performance..

different kernel works and reacts differently on different devices and different roms. test it out to find YOUR perfect fit.

Try the S4 dalvik patch that's floating around here. Boosted my score to 20k+ on PA 3.99 with stock PA kernel at 1512/1512.
Using this combo as my daily driver since a week and no problems so far.

What kind of numbers did you get before the mod?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
Around 16-17k if I remember correctly. Also don't forget that heat throttling is pretty aggressive on the N4. So make sure your device has cooled down before the next run.
Pro tip: put your N4 onto a cold ceran stove when benchmarking. They're made to conduct heat efficiently and will keep your device cool
Well I wouldn't give those numbers too much credit...
they represent more the settings that you enter, than device performance.
I for instance use the latest franco Kernel. With the settings I use every day (interactive governor, default clocks), I get arount 15-18k in antutu. But the device feels as snappy as hell in normal usage and gaming.
If I switch to performance governor, ramping the minimal and maximal cpu clock up to 1512MHZ while raising the cpu throttling from 65 to 90° I reach antutu scores in the range of 20-22k.
But I obviously would never ever use these settings every day.
That beeing said, these numbers do not really represent how the devices behaves in every day usage, which is much more important to me than any number, a benchmark puts out.

I am not trying to reach higher antatu numbers.. what I was looking for is to test out which kernel and what kernel settings gives me max power...

I have a couple of questions:
It's your phone still working like it should?
Do you really care about the scores you get to be able to enjoy your N4?
Do you think the scores of benchmark really say everything about your phone?
If you compare a S4 or M7 with a N4, and in one test (by chance) you get the same scores, do you think your N4 has the same power as a S4 or M7?
Stop worrying about benchmark scores, I used to be like that bench-marking all the time, at the end I just got tired of it!!!
Now I just enjoy my phone the way it is.
Good luck!!!
CM-10.2 and CM kernel got 20728
Edit
(updated antutu version 18484).

CM10.2 unmodified with Franco kernel default settings...
btw. Antutu 4 score: 21336
Benchmarks are useless, its how the device feels when using it what matters.
First off I know benchmark scores are not that important, real life smoothness is. However when running Antutu Benchmark I consistantly get scores between 25k and 27k, while the chart puts the Note 3 at >35k.
LI am runnig a custom ROM, X Note 5.1 with Faux kernel. Is this kind of score to be expected? I have no real problem with performance but I'm a bit OCD so I would like to know what is causing this.

Maby it's the kernel you use, I am also on X Note 5.1 and get 35/36k.

little improvement
Unconvincing improvement... What other things can cause low benchmark scores? I use the International SM-N9005 Snapdragon 800 version.
