An problems with GPU at 484? - Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Trying out some different kernels and noticed the three common settings are stock 446 and 484. Most are going back to 446. Was there a problem with 24/7 484?

Every device performs different than the other. I over clocked mine at 520mhz and it's been very stable for 3 days so far no problems. My fps when I ran nenamark 2 went from 55.2fps to 59.9fps

How hot does your device gets?

I have been asking this in few threads lately and no one yet to answer. I installed system tuner to check the cpu temperatures and seems to be a little high compare to other devices that I owned. With regular use the temps seems to be around 45-50C and with heavy use and gaming it would go up to 60C. The device also feels a little warm around the camera area. I would appreciate if someone could check their temps. Thanks.

I have not really noticed any heat just yet

Those temperatures are very normal... The phone feels so hot because the back is glass.

Could you check the temps with system tuner by chance? Curious to know what are your readings. Thanks

108F is about 42C, which is not hot at all. Mine gets over that while texting.

Haven't measured, but mine gets SUPER hot sometimes. Usually when playing games, or like last night, I was on skype for ~4 hours. It get's hot, but I would expect it or any device to get hot when doing that type of stuff.

I don't own one but those temps are right in line with the average desktop pc. I think once temps hit about 65-70C under heavy load, then there is reason for concern.

Mine got up to something like 42 degrees C yesterday while browsing. Got the temperature readout using Cool Tool. Heat was mainly around the top / camera area where I assume the antenna is.
38° C max and that's when i m charging and using the phone.

Are you sure that is not the battery temp? It just sounds very low!

42 is not hot. Its warm. To qualify as hit it has to reach at least 50.

It's called 'saving power'.
As long as it doesn't lag and clocks itself up to maximum when required, there's nothing to worry about.
Or you can get some CPU clock app and set it on maximum performance. But don't be surprised if you can boil eggs on it then and the battery dies in 2 hrs :good:

I ran my N7 at 1.7 (using Trinity) without any heating problems. Battery life was acceptable.

clear the data for tkt and reboot. if you are using tkt, you dont need a powerhal script, since tkt runs it automatically after opening it.
Does Tegra 3 really need overclocked? Having used Tegra 2 I can say that could definitely use a little bump but so far T3 is keeping up with me and I can see a big difference between T2 and T3. Makes me wonder what T4 Wayne has in store.

{?} About MC4

Does anyone know why on my nexus 4 it shows the extra graphics/ effects but doesn't on my nexus 7?

GPU
its because the adreno 320 is a much better gpu then tegra 3 i think its about 2.5x stronger so if gameloft put max graphics on nexus 7 it would lag
Wrong by a long shot!!! Tegra is one of the best CPU's around, just gotta tweak it. Also for your answer try a different ROM and kernel. Should help!!

I own both a nexus 7 and N4 and the nexus 4 is a lot faster even with the n4 CPU @800 and n7 CPU @1500 its still faster than the n7 in graphics
EDIt: anyone with a brain knows S4Pro is a. much stronger soc than tegra 3 do you work for nvidia or something oh yeahs when's the last time nvidia released drivers that's right never
Is there any way to improve the graphics?

You can find modded APKs (I am not gonna link them) but 90% of the time they won't work. You can try editing some config file in the data directory. Dunno which though.

Nexus 4 battery vs other 2100 Mh battries.

I always wonder why gs3's battery last more than N4 ? both are 2100 mah.
is their any reason like optimization or other thing ?
will it get fixed in future updates ?
Thanks.
LG Optimus G too

Try flashing a custom kernel like Franco kernel ... Try that and see results many people had have reported that this kernel helps them

Riptide GP2 frame rate issues?

I searched but did but see anything.... I'm having serious frame rate issues on my N4, even after rebooting and lowering my graphics settings. Now, on my first gen N7, it runs great! So, I was just wondering if I was alone or not. Any tips or help would be great too.

I got around 30/40fps when there is players in front of me, and 60 fps when i'm first.
Maybe you will get better performance on 4.3
