[Q] U8800pro, no recovery,only pink - what to do? - Huawei Ideos X5 U8800

I have U8800pro and few months ago I updated from stock to GB2.3.5 and the latest official ROM at that time, U8800Pro V100R001C00B512G001(Gingerbread). It was rooted, unlocked. Then I installed RWM and made a backup. All fine.
Since I wasn't pleased with stock, I successfuly installed and used now for several months ROM B876_KALO_v1.8.
Today I installed RWM 6.0.1 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1840425) and made a backup. I then installed newer Kalo's ROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1553705&highlight=kalo+returns) and it worked all just fine.
But since for I wanted to return to stock (the first backup - first 2 lines of the post), because I want to use the warranty for a problem with echoing and did a big mistake. I just made a restore and nothing else, not even read about how to do a downgrade properly. Now I am in bootloop, but pink screen works.
I am now installing VMware and Ubuntu to follow your guidelines. I never used linux, so please be detailed.
Thank you so much for your efforts!

UPDATE:
I can see 5 partitions in Ubuntu. What should I do next?

Ok, I think I solved the problem so I will answer myself:
In Ubuntu I copied UPDATE.APP and UPDATE_g.APP from the stock ROM U8800Pro V100R001C00B512G001(Gingerbread)¸which I had to internal SD card in dload folder.
That made it work.
My question is - is this really 100% stock ROM or is it possible something is messed up bad elsewere?

Well, you're first mistake is not making a pink screen backup.
Usually a stock rom makes it like new so it is probably fixed. I wanted to tell you to restore the backup after installing the stock and see if it was back to normal.

Not sure what I did

I have just put Leedroid 2.0 on my DHD and everything was fine but after looking round I decide last night that I would go to 2.3, so I dwnlded it and put it onto my SD card with the md5 file no problems. I then used clockwork mod to wipe my old Rom for a fresh start still no problem. When I went to install the new Rom it kept saying error which had alarm bells ringing in my ear I powered odd and removed the SD card and put the old 2.0 zip file on there and removed the error file and inserted it into the phone. This gave me a flashing Orange light and not able to power on so I removed the battery and waited for ten seconds and put it in and powered up the phone. Now I thought could just install the zip from there but the phone booted up (took ages for first boot but I waited) and followed the on-screen instructions for setting up the phone and then I used titanium backup to reinstall my apps.
The version of leedroid is the same but it boots up differently without the r2d2 sounds and different boot up screens
Not sure what I did seeing as I never installed from the zip file it has installed from somewhere.
I think I will do it again but just wanted any thoughts as to what actually happened with the install and what is the latest leedroid Rom because I can't seem to find it anywhere I look I keep getting different numbered versions.
Thanks

If you wiped, and can now boot, you MUST have flashed the zip otherwise you would have nothing to boot into, does phone info not tell you what version of leedroid your running?
Yeah it days Android 2.2.1 and leedroid 2.0.0 which is what I thought I had but it seems a little different

so what is the latest version of Leedroid and is there a link direct to it
Thanks Again

Go to the Development thread, it's one of the top ones there called LeeDroid.
First post in that thread has download links.
latest version 2.3 is a beta. yuu should back to 2.2.2 again if there is so much problem!
dont forget,
2.2.2 is based on the current 2.2 version.
2.3.x is based on the leaked 2.3 version.
2.2.2 is great.. use it myself and love it.
havent tried 2.3.x but i would sugest reading the posts to see if there are any bugs ect.
i also had the issue that my boot screen looked stock again.
this happened after messing around with flashing the roms..
after i flashed it again the normal way.. it got back to the fancy boot screen.
dont forget to use clockwork 2.x.x.x not the clockwork 3.x.x.x
thanks for that I have done it again and it is now 2.2.2 and is grrrreat , watching closely the 2.3 thread and nearly ready to make the jump

Using cwm do a full nandroid backup, transfer the backup to microsd, put the microsd into the other Iconia and use cwm to do a nandroid restore.
At least, that's my guess.
well that's a start, I was about to start ripping my hair out over this simple sound issue lol but thanks.

Hmmmmm. Can't you use use a full update.zip and flash a copy of the stock rom? Never tried using a nandroid backup on a system it was not created on - it might work, but it might not, I really am not sure.
But just flashing a full update.zip or installing Acer recovery tool to flash a stock rom sounds easier and more likely to work to me - am I missing something and is this not an option?
I tried flashing two or three times before, sent it into a bootloop, I even tried the Acer update decrypter but my laptop is 32 bit, and until today when I finally decided to post the question is when it occurred to me about possibly transferring it. btw, is there a set destination for the nandroid back up?

Nandroid backups go to the external SD by default (I think) - have you tried using Acer Recovery Installer on the tab with the issue? Assuming you can still boot it and have root you may be able to go back to stock using it.
acer recovery
Tonto the market. Download the new version of Acer recovery installer.install third recovery. Go back into Acer recovery got last box .choose a rom for your location.let it download then install.point and click simple and will fix your issue.if you have failed attempts. You might want to try a different SD card.good luck
This did work for me
.
Erica Renee
Urban geeky blonde like me can do it surely a strong man like yourself willnfigure it out. Giggles
I have tried Acer recovery installer as well, I have 2.3 in fact I tried just a moment ago, and I get boot screen with android the triangle and the exlimation point.
confusion
OK Acer recovery installer is not the recovery just a means to install and work within it and run pre defined scripts.as in there backup and so on
If you are getting that.you need to
1.open Acer recovery installer
2.Install Recovery.the first black box acroos screen.it will askbifnyoubwant to back up stock recoverybdo so.(this is the recovery program only not the system) .
3.boot into recovery and backup your whole tablet.or use the far right black button to d/load and install a new rom from his list.fallow the instructions there clickishly simple
Good luck
So what Acer recovery installer does is replace the stock recovery. To allow you to install non stock decryptedand other. Zip files of course it will install stock recoveries as well.read the Acer recovery install thread under Dev section it's al in there
Again Google luck
OK so here is what I did and it worked like a charm, installed cwm did a custom restore (everything but data) mounted the SD card on other tablet restored and voila I have Dolby mobile back! thank you guys for all the help and info, now I can truly mess with roms and be safe knowing I have a non currupt back up

Umm let me see if I understand. You flashed a ROM, but you can't remember which one, you don't remember what you used to root it with, then you installed a version of CWM that is used for the HTC Desire? Is that it in a nutshell?
ok so ive been trying to remember exactly what rom it was i was running hc 3.1 and it was a stock rom i used the new gingerbreak to root it, the one where its like one button tap and its rooted, also im almost sure the custom rom i flashed to the tablet was ROM][JULE8]-=Virtuous Picasso v. 1.1.0=- [Honeycomb 3.1][Kernel: UNITY V5] and i used the htc desire clockwork recovery when i flashed my a500 hopefully this helps more than the other info

U8800 bricked. Plz Help!

Hello guys,
i bricked my Phone yesterday after trying to flash to Stock 2.3.5 Firmware. I tried many things but i couldnt recover the phone at all. Hopefuly someone can help me.
So, heres the Background:
I used CyanogenMod 7.2.0 .32 Kernel (22/11/2012)[NiGHTLY] at the Top of the 2.2.2 Stock Firmware with CWM 5.0.2.6. I did re-partitioned my data partition with genokolar's 1.2G DATA + 1.46G INTERNAL SD upgrade package wich ran very well and without Problems.
Cause i suffered from battery drain Problems, i decided to give the 2.3.5 Stock Rom a try. I never used it before so it was my first attemp to flash it. I downloaded U8800 V100R001C00B522G001(Normal)(Gingerbread), putted dload Folder into SD Card, Powered the Phone with Volume + and - Buttons and the Update started.
Just before the End, the Updates stopped with an "Update Failed" Message. Then i tried to restore the 2.2.2 Firmware U8800 V100R001C00B138SP04(Normal) back, but no luck. The same problem. The Update Fails always at the end.
After that i went online and figured out that many people re-partitioned their phones to Stock State before flashing any Stock Firmware. So i installed CWM back again, downloaded and flashed the offical-partition.zip, did it 3 times, then flashed any Stock Rom again, but no success.
Then i tried to format any partition of the Phone using CWM, and i can format all, except the Data Partition. Seems it went corrupted for any Reason.
Thats it for the most Part. Sorry for the Long Post. I hope some of you guys can help me.
Greets,
mitsosc
Should have made a pinkscreen backup... can't help I don't have the pro.

[Q] Defy hard resetting itself on each boot.

Hi everyone!
I am having very strange problem with stock rom "JORDN _U3_6.36.0" from T-Mobile USA on standard Defy. Each time i power phone up, it starts booting up then restarts itself in to stock recovery and perform hard/factory reset. After that it boots normally, but all settings gone.
I am not using T-mobile sim or moto blur account , so i skip registration using "ebluroff" trick. Is that can be the cause of the problem?
Some backstory: when i bought the phone it had CyanogenMod 7 installed on it. I used it for 2-3 years, even updated it several times up to 7.2.
Then some time ago i started having issues with it, so i had to flash stock rom with 2.1 Android.
I decided not to do anything with the phone, until i got some advice, so i any help would be greatly appreciated.
What were the issues faced? Anyhow one of the things you can try is to upgrade to 2.2, via rsd lite

Well, thing is i want to keep my downgrade ability. I rooted the phone with superoneclick and install 2ndInit 1.4.2, but the problem is that it doesn't see SD card because it is Eclair. How people installed nandroid backups on 2.1? There has to be the way to move to 2.2 without flashing full SBF, because as i already mentioned it had CyanogenMod 7 when i bought it, so it is possible.

Some update. After hours of digging i found out these thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=899450
So, i first flashed defy 2.2_boot_only FIXED FSB, then after reboot custom recovery started working, so restored Droid22 rom from it.
Phew, i knew it was possible. So now i have rooted chines (?) android 2.2.1 on my phone and working custom recovery. I am gona stick on it for a while until i find best 2.3.3. nandroid ROM.
Just wanted to clarify was it right order - first flashing fixed SBF then restoring nandroid backup? I couldnt get custom recovery working without updating bootmenu first.
I also wanted to add that i did custom recovery data|cash wipe before flashing fixed SBF, before AND after restoring nandroid backup.
I saw that lots of people had problem like me , hope my message will help.
Here is link to another forum which has working download links http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile...ed-rooted-android-2-2-froyo-on-motorola-defy/
