Anyone else found s note buggy in jelly bean I have handwriting that sometime disappears and some times comes back after I rubbed it out, a sure way to recreate these issues is to use the shape match and drawn lots of shapes fast and after a few some disappear when you draw more then when you switch to pen some come back and others disappear.

Go in to Application manager and clear cache and data on S-Note. That might help.
Same problem here! Sucks so hard, Is there any possibility to get back to 4.0.4?

What version of S-Note are you guys with problems running on? You can find it by opening the S-Note app in "Manage Applications." The version that shipped in JB for the N8000 is 5r14940FV03. There were seven different versions of S-Note on the ICS ROM(s) and two of them has issues importing PDF files. So it is possible that if there are multiple versions of S-Note in the JB ROMs one or more of them could have issues. The version I posted above is working fine for me on JB.
Version 5r16958FV03
Got the known problems with shape match(disappearing shapes etc)

I have the same version, clearing cache and reboot has no effect. Is it possible to install a different version? Is this problem generally known, so the samsung guys allready working on that problem. In a german forum (android-hilfe.de) i found a thread discuss the same problem so far they also found no solution, they even tried it with a wipe. Also it seems that only the N8010 version are hit by that problem.

Anyone else noticed a significant shorter battery life since updating to ICS?
For me it drains almost twice as fast as it did on honeycomb :crying:
Everything else works great for me, no compatibility issues with any of my apps, sooo much smoother than honeycomb, many great new features. Also I haven't had any problems with wifi like some users reported yet.
Mine settled after wiping dalvik-cache. Being afraid to wipe in ICS I just used terminal to go to... dalvik-cache, deleted all the files and re-booted.

Mine is better actually
As mentioned above try wiping the cache. Also maybe you flashed a European version on a HK Tab? I guess radios are different and possibly your previous radio was better suited to the network where you live? That actually makes a huge difference

I live in austria, got my tab via three austria, and flashed official rom for austria. So I guess that should work fine.
I will try wiping the dalvik cache, see if that makes any difference. Thanks for the suggestion.
Also make sure to leave your wifi on even when sleeping, that makes a big difference, even if it doesn't seem logical.
My battery is also better on ICS
I have the Australian 6810 32GB version and it has now had the UK ICS ROM image flashed for a couple of weeks.
The battery is a lot better than it was on HC, as is the overall performance. I did a clean install using desktop ODIN with a full wipe.
Well, wiping the cache didn't help. I figured out what's the issue anyways: I use my tab on lowest possible brightness setting most of the time but the lowest setting in ICS is brighter than the lowest setting in HC was. That causes me to have more overall drain when using the tab, while standby time stays the same.
Does anyone know an app or something that allows me to set the brightness as low as I could on honeycomb?

Hi Folks

I need to turn off and on the screen min. 10 Times a day

Do a quick test for me mate -
Lock your device
Put a finger somewhere on your device
Unlock the device WHILST YOUR FINGER IS IN PLACE
Do a test to see if that part of your screen is unresponsive
If your screen doesnt respond to the point where your finger was, you have a very well known screen issue.
If this is the case, return.
Thank you very much for your help.
Anyway im sad that i need to return my device

When using the tablet in a dark room with auto brightness, launching Snote causes the screen to become much brighter when it's launched. Anybody else have this problem?
This is so irritating. It has hurt my eyes so many times. I wish that someone here fixes this ASAP. It just shoots the brightness to the maximum.
Same problem here with N8010XXALI3!

it's almost hard to believe that Samsung would let a bug like this slip by them. Do their executives use iPads or something?

It's Firmware related, no problems with N8000XXALGA...
Restore from S-Note from N8000XXALGA to N8010XXALI3 with TB did not help...
Mine has this problem too and more...

My S Note got this bug after updating the firmware. Also, S Note now has a scroll bar that I hated because it is touch sensitive and my hands always touches it accidentally. Gone also is the option to hide the sNote toolbar. My note was perfect before the update and now has this irritating bugs in s note.
Please help me if you find the solution.
Regards
I've noticed this on mine as well. Except I think that s note records what the screen brightness was when you last closed it, and will override your current brightness level with this stored one whenever you open it up.

oddly, my 8013 does not work in the same way. it always reverts back to a certain high brightness level, regardless of where I last left it

Yeah it just automatically goes to max brightness, and this all started with newest update that was sent over the air. This probably wont be fixed until the jelly bean update comes which wont be until probably next year.......

This is a horrible, horrible thing. Again, I wonder if samsung people actually use their own device, or if they just all go home and use ipads

Based on the way I take notes I actually like it. Some other folks here have made similar comments. The easy solution would be to provide a toggle in S-Note's settings so the feature could be turned off by those that don't like it. Samsung sold 2MM Note 10.1’s in two months. The odds of all 2MM purchasers using their devices the same way and wanting the same thing features wise is pretty slim.
I didn't have this problem until a couple of days ago. I fixed it by using the display brightness app. It basically manually overrides the android brightness so the brightness settings persist even when opening a note.

This works great, thanks!!
I wonder if Velis Auto Brightness can fix that.
OK, so I was getting really annoyed with this, but realised it happens in apps other than s-note (for me at least). especially when I'm using apps in portrait mode...
I even switched off auto brightness & used "lux auto brightness" thinking this might address the problem -- it doesn;t.
However for me the brightness dimming is caused by my hand/pen/anything getting close to the proximity sensor on the device (the hole top centre to the left). Go near there and within a second the screen dims. Move away it's normal.
On my S3 I seem to remember the proximity sensor could be disabled on ICS - but no option on Jellybean
Of course having the samsung logo the same side of the screen in portrait mode as your "handiness" helps too -- that way your hand is less likely to go near the proximity sensor.... this is my current "fix"
Ideas on sw configuration?
Hello,
I have this different problem with my nexus 4. It appears only on specific backrounds i.e. the backround in the contact-application from google / call-history / settings. I tried resetting the software with the factory image but that didn't help. It came up again at the first boot in the configuration-setup. I brought it back to saturn (thats a shop in germany) for warranty now.
My question is, did somebody experience the same or simular issues with their screen?
I attached a photo that I have taken. You cannot see the lines in a screenshoot, what makes me a 100% sure that it is a HW-Issue.
Seriously no one else with that issue?

Anybody else had this?
You will have to send it back. It's not a software issue, it's related to the hardware

What did they say to u in the email? Usually they hit solved when they passed it on to the engineers and they are trying to work on it.
Your Jide Ambassador is here!!!
Hopefully it gets resolved with the next update because it's almost ruins the device. It's not so much lag (although I can understand why that would be used to describe the problem) it's more like the device freezes or judders for a split second, especially during video playback. And it doesn't matter what the codec or source in use is. Youtube videos (with the video fully loaded and buffer free and under normal use.) local files using xvid/h264 codecs in avi/mp4/mkv containers with nearly every player I've used (vlc, mxplayer, archos, bsplayer, wondershare etc.)

Thomas Schmid,
As the ticket has not been replied in the past 10 days, system marked it as solved. However, your bug report has been well recorded. Our engineers are troubleshooting. It may takes longer than you expect.*
Best,

If play store would work in 1.5 (purchased apps are market as unpurchased) i would go back to 1.5, since with 2.0 my tablet isnt usable typing a simple E-Mail will cause so many Text failures with this lags (like this: i m pii ssed)
