Hi all
I'm getting the 3g model for Christmas but was worried at the lack of Dev support for the 3g model. Can you flash the normal roms and only use wifi or is it specific roms for specific devices?
Won't be the same without aokp or PA

I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think they'll work on the 3g model.
If you look at the title or OP of the threads them they might say whether they'll work on the 3g model aswell as the WiFi model. I know some ROMs do give that info.

If you are concerned about it go buy a wifi one... I share internet connection with my smartphone (whatever smartphone with 3g will work) and you can't notice the difference between 3g/wifi
The thought of eventually using it as a phone excites me though and I'm sure the devs will find a way

Nexus7+ Galaxy Nexus on plan
Have query in regards to not being very familiar with using wifi, and with tethering a tablet to a phone.
Have GSM Galaxy Nexus on 2Gb monthly plan and being given a Nexus7 for Christmas. I figured they would make a good pair.
What I want to know is how quick will my Galaxy Nexus battery drain if I am tethering the tablet, or is it unlikely that I will really use the tablet like that often. I just figure as I am reasonably new to smartphones and never had a tablet, I could do with some advice about how they typically get used so I can purchase the Nexus& with Sim slot if that is recommended.
So far as I can tell, I will probably mostly use the tablet at home when the phone is plugged in, and if I do want to use the tablet out and about, I should be able to get a couple of hours tethering out of the phone battery anyways. I have only purchased the wifi version at the moment (only one available) but I would like to hear what some more experienced people have to say about this. Do I really need mobile data on my tablet?
Am I going to be kicking myself for a fool later if I do not get it?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Just about to order a nexus 7 and looking for advice on getting either the WiFi or 3G version.
I would like the 3G version but am concerned that there seems to be hardly any custom ROMs for it. Have I missed something here, as in, can custom ROMs for the WiFi version be flashed on to the 3G version as well?
Any advice gratefully received.
Thanks
John

I just got my Nexus 4, and switched on LTE. Is it safe to use as the main network? I mean, the phone wasn't made for LTE, so how much testing did they really do for it?
... they didn't. It was never meant to be a LTE phone but lg didn't block the LTE chip completely which allowed us to use it
I'm using it as a main network and I'm quite happy with it. Battery life is pretty terrible but coming from galaxy nexus, couldn't care less.

Having trouble finding another ROM to flash, some say 3g/WiFi in the title some say just WiFi , some don't say anything, kind of confusing. I have 3g version . I want some better audio and something better than cm10 it lags for me sometimes.

If its in the 3G Dev forum, then it's okay. If not, then it most likely isn't a good choice.

I have a nexus 7 2012 WiFi only and a 2013 lte. The first gen and my HTC one model sign into my work WiFi just fine. The 2013 lte model does not want to connect through the internet login portal.
All software is unmodified and completely stock without root on all devices. Both nexus 7s are running kit Kat. The lte model has a tmobile SIM. I've also tried to remove the SIM and connect... Still no good
Any solutions? Anyone here of something like this happening ?

Since the problem is with the 2013 model, you would be better helped by posting in the correct device forum. They will be more familiar and better suited to help with your issue. For instance, if it is a known issue with that particular device, most here would most likely not know about it.
