Why is my Nexus 7 freezing on boot? - Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My Nexus 7 is freezing a few seconds after it boots up. I goes to a black screen with some visual artifacts. The memory on my Nexus 7 is full but I don't think that's the issue. It took a three foot fall from my bed stand to the rug and now it's doing this. Is there anyway to fix it?
I took a video of it booting up but I cannot post external links because I am a new user. Do a search for "Nexus 7 Boot freeze 0T99" on youtube and it should be the first video.

So now I hard resetted my Nexus 7 and deleted everything off it. The screen glitches out after a couple of minutes. Any ideas?

Nexus 7 screen glitching few seconds after booted in.

My screen glitches (think of TV static, but striped and colored similar to the background image) about 5 seconds after booting into android (after the nexus logo loads.
The tablet is fully functional doing the 5 seconds. After that, the screen glitches like above, and I can hear a faint sound from the nexus 7 that grows in pitch until it bursts and the device shuts down. Then, it tried to boot again and this process is repeated.
I don't know what caused this - I haven't used my nexus 7 for few weeks or so, and the last time I used it it was working.
The bootloader is unlocked but it is running stock 4.2.
I have tried booting into recovery mode and wiping data, but that doesn't fix anything.
Anyone know how to fix the issue?

[Q] Boot significantly delayed

In noticed that after the 4.2.1 update my Nexus 7 won't boot anymore.
Somtimes i had to try it over and over again for 30 Minutes ore more.
Then i figured out that after pressing the power Button my Nexus needed >20 sek. before the google Logo shows up.
That explaind my "won't boot" problems.
But after i got a friends Nexus 7 for a couple of days i recognized that his Nexus 7 just needs about 2-5 sek. between pushing the power Button and the appearing of the google Logo.
I thought there might be a problem with the Update on 4.2.1 and would like to know if there is any way to flash the factory stock ROM to my Nexus 7 without unlocking the bootloader ( maybe something like KIES from Samsung )?

Nexus 4 and 7 crash and reboot themselves!

Hi, I have a Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 (2013 edition) on Stock Android 4.4 Kit Kat and I've had a problem for a while now. The problem is that my phone and tablet reboot themselves and then works normally for 10 seconds to a minute when it boots up and it crashes and reboots itself, and it keeps doing that, over and over. It's a loop. It starts when my phone reboots on itself and on my Nexus 7 it will disconnect from my home Wifi and if you reboot the tablet, it does the same thing. This is my 5th time with this problem and I can't find out why it happens. This has happened to me since I've had Android 4.3. I have always fixed this by leaving both devices off a day or two and then It would work like normal. Then the problem would disappear for a few weeks and then the problem would repeat itself. This has happened to me on Paranoid Android on 4.3 but never on stock until now. I thought it was a problem on Paranoid Android but now I see it's a problem of my devices. I'm actually on Android 4.4 when I got this problem again. I actually left both devices off for 2 days and it still has the same problem. I don't think it's because of any apps because it actually crashed on me right after I did a factory reset to my phone on the setup screen. Can someone please help me?

2013 Nexus 7 randomly reboots, not sure how to troubleshoot.

This behavior started within the last month or so.
My Nexus 7 randomly reboots 2 or 3 times per day most days, but not every day. It's running the factory ROM and it's not rooted. It rarely reboots when it's actually being used. Usually the reboots happen when it's sitting idle. Googling around led to suggestions to take a bug report immediately after it reboots. I have a couple, but I don't know what I'm looking for in them. The files are over 111k lines long so it's not like I can just skim through the file. How can I go about finding out what's causing the tablet to reboot?
Try the nexus 7 2013 forum this one is for the 2012 version it may be worth trying a factory reset failing that reflash the factory image also try booting the tablet in safe mode this limits the apps to only system apps if the tablet stops randomly rebooting then you know its a 3rd party app causing it

N7 (2013) screen flicker (video included)

My Nexus 7 (2013) screen flickers usually after it's been on for about 20-30 minutes. At first, it will just flicker once every few seconds, but eventually, it becomes completely unusable. A few months ago, I did a factory reset, and it seemed to go away for a while, which confused me, because I don't really think it's a software issue. However, now the flicker is back with a vengeance, and I'm looking for suggestions as to what might cause this. I'm not afraid to open it up, but I'm not sure what to look for - anyone?
