The Orientation Switch apk does not hold orientation in FW 1.2 on my NST.
I tried 'Rotation Locker v1.4' and it worked fine.

You can't see apk's menu but on the other hand..there are only 3 options in there so you can't miss the right one.
We have similar troubles with firmware 1.2 !
I use this app and set orientation on Auto . now "Orientation Switch" and "NookBB" work fine . even after uninstalling this app and reboot nook .
We just need to set orientation on Auto with any method .

hi im new here. i found out my sgs2 got auto-rotation problem. i turn off auto-rotation on notification bar. and also in display>off auto-rotation. But..it still ON automatically...anyone has a this problem?
is there any fix for this? thanks yaa..
What do you mean it's on automatically ? Some applications just don't obey this setting.
yeah.. when i open notification...it ON again. but in setting show OFF... hmm, why aaa??
eg: when i open setting or messaging...it horizontal and change back to vertical. and i have to OFF again Auto-rotation in notification...and ok for awhile.
if i reboot. it didnt save the auto-rotation setting. it keep ON...
I see .. I have no idea why it's doing that though .. mine does no such thing.
I had this problem when i used touchwiz, it doesnt seem to do it anymore when i switched over to launcherpro

yes... and fixed auto rotation
I'm running the 24/10/2012 dated version of Cyanogenmod 10 with my nexus 7, and I can't make the screen rotate to landscape mode in the desktop. Auto-rotate is enable, even for lock screen, which seems to go to landscape mode without any problem. Same for the setting screen.
The only way it works is when I use an app. I checked Google to find a solution, but all I saw is "Enable auto-rotate and it should work". Not for me though.
Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.
Have you enabled auto rotation in settings/accessibility?
Sent from my Nexus 7
Yes
A reboot would do the trick i had rhe same problem
Hi,
I'm posting here because I'm not allowed to post in the dev subforum. I'm told that I do not have enough real posts to be given posting access there.
I just bought a TPT and love it. I updated to ICS, rooted, installed CWM 6, then flashed Koshu CM10 0.9.2. Everything works great, and I really have to tip my hat a Koshu. However I do have one issue, my auto screen rotation function is broken.
I have checked the following settings:
Launcher -> General -> Auto Rotate Screen enabled
Display -> Rotation ->Auto Rotate Screen and Include lock screen enabled
Accessibility -> Auto Rotate Screen enabled
I've formatted all data and clean flashed. Nothing.
I've also confirmed the accelerometer is working using games and accelerometer logging apps.
Can anyone lend a hand?
Thanks,
Boggie168
Maybe try cycling the auto rotate using the button (left hardware key) and rebooting the tpt?

No luck...
I noticed that if I'm in the camera app, the buttons for the camera will rotate as I turn the tablet. But for anything else, like the browser, homescreen, or lock screen it is suck in landscape mode.
How did you format? Did you try using the format zip?

Yes I formatted using the format zip provided in the CM10 Koshu thread.
No idea then...
Hi guys, I use screen rotator ever since I started using android, but now I was trying to find the service or program that handles the task switch after you long press the home key so I could use the task switcher in the horizontal mode and I could not find any thing related to it, do any of you android experts now this answer?
Cheers
My screen auto-rotates in the task switcher, I haven't changed any settings on it. I just have the "screen rotation" turned on.
Is auto-rotating working everywhere else?

Hi, thanks for the reply, I always have auto rotate switched off, I just want a few apps to auto rotate like Gallery and Gmail, if I turn it on everything works fine, however I want to limit the apps that auto rotate thats why I use Smart Rotator, but I wanted to allow the stock "task switcher" to have the same behaviour... I´ve searched online a lot and still could not find which service or program handles this...

Sorry, I missunderstood you earlier. I looked into it a little too, but couldn't find the option to enable the "task switcher" either. Have you tried the app Tasker? You might be able to set up a profile to auto rotate when "task switcher" is open. I haven't tried it personally, so I don't know how much hassle it is, or if it'll even work.
