hi i am new to this site and all of the forums my name is Kevin i own a liberty tab which i am led to believe is an iconia in a different shell, after owning this now for nearly 2 years with no problems and the fact that i really do like this machine i have found out that there will be no ICS update from PB so will the update for the iconia work (no guaranty) and if it will how do i install the update as it is not an official from PB? my last question if where can i get a stock ROM for the liberty tab just in case it all goes wrong :fingers-crossed:

hey everyone, i used to have the spica i5700 (loved it) untill i dropped it down the toilet and broke the screen.... anyway i upgraded to the Galaxy S.... I have just had the Spica fixed now and have gave it to my better half...
The only thing is i think its running on old FW... i did customise it. it runs on LeshaKs eclair build with samdroid.... update 2.1 update 1
I have noticed that Froyo and even CM7 is available for Spica. But my misses isnt into all the hacking and stuff i just want a more up to date firmware so it doesnt have to be a custom ROM she will be happy for Stock
I just need some direction on how to upgrade to something newer, and to keep the multitouch function and the apps2sd.. i remember it was confusing i had to partition the sd card and lots of other stuff. But with having the Galaxy S and modifying that every week i forgot how to do it to the Spica.
can someone help me out or forward me onto the right path ???
Thank you very much.
hi there...
its a while i occupy myself with android etc...
i updated my a501 tab last night so i could use iconia root and recognized...that i lost the 3g functions..
the a501 model is now overwritten (a500)..and runs HC 3.1
i dont want to go on HC3.2 so i asked myself if there is a way to pursue a downgrade to HC 3.0.1..did someone make a backup for the 3.0.1 rom??
i dont want a custom rom (only then if there isnt another way.)
on the acer website..there aren't OFW neither..
is it possible...that a full reset would take my tab back to HC3.0.1 (model a501)
thx for the help..^^

Upss...you missed one step before flashing another ROM, create full backup from recovery..
You have different version number for each region..if i,m not mistaken, correct me if i'm wrong.
There's a thread in the development section share stock rom, but it only for A500 model..

oh yes...i think you are right =S
but isn't there a method to overwrite the version number/ model number etc.?
its weird that on my quick guide booklet "ICONIA TAB A500/A501" is written on the top.
i never noticed that before..=S
i think i need the stock rom for A501...HC3.0.1 because i rooted my tab while i was on HC 3.0..and everything worked fine...any other custom roms would influence the performance...
downgrade possible?
hello im about to downgrade my tab to 3.0.1 and try to rooting it again..
Im a bada dev and new to tablets..so i would like to know moore about rooted tabs etc..
Google isnt helpfull at all and there are a few questions i would like to ask..
One question is..
Are there installers which are similar to the app ''Cydia'' known from the IOS jailbreaking scene, where i can download additional applications or themes?
Having root access to the OS sounds great but..once your device is rooted..there is no installer like ''Cydia'', which allows me to hav full access to the android market, (as far as im concerned)..
Thanks in advance..
Hay,
About 3 weeks ago my Slider informed me of a software update that i very quickly applied expecting it to be the 4.0.3 ICS update that the US version has...but to my horror i found that it was the generic Transformer TF101 update... not good, as it broke my keyboard!!! When looking in About my Tablet it said it was a Transformer TF101 running Android 4.0.3 Firmware Version 9.2.1.21 - no big problem there but it also said No Mobile Dock connected and the keyboard did not work!!!!
Quick call to Asus, and they informed me that there was no update to ICS for the UK Slider yet and that it should not have been able to download the update. They also told me that to fix it, i would have to send the Slider to them to be re-flashed / replaced as it is not possible to downgrade from ICS to HC - shows how much they know lol!
After rooting and installing CWM i decided to take the plunge and flash a custom ICS rom that claimed to work on the Slider -Revolver 4 RC3 with the compatibly files, but still no dock connected or working keyboard, had the same problem with ADHD so i thought i would try Revolver 3 (HC) but this also failed to fix my dock problem. I gave up and re-flashed back to stock HC and all is good appart from the Slider informing me of the OTA update.
Many people have been saying that the Transformer update would work on the Slider along with many of the custom ROMS such as Revolver and ADHD (or install the compatibility pack and use any), i have tried many ROMS now including the official Slider UK update from the Asus site, that again is just the Transformer one that the Slider downloaded OTA and non of them work with the dock / keyboard.
Any UK Slider owners out there running a custom ROM with working dock, if so which ROM you using??
Hello,
My GF just got herself an A200, but she experiences it is a bit on the slow side at times, so I wanted to install a custom rom on it.
Been doing that before on a few phones and my Galaxy Tab 10.1, but after digging in this forum and over at the Acer Tablet Forum I am still not sure if it is all that easy on this tablet.
Sooooo, I was wondering if the coming steps are what it takes to install what I had in mind and if that actually works.
The SimpleRoot topic on the Acer Tablet Forum gave me enough info (assuming it works) on how to get root and install CWM.
Now I wanted to flash (after making a Nandroid back up) the latest CM9 Rom with Obsidian's CM9-Onyx-OC-1.5ghz-v1 kernel.
I have no doubt that somewhere, on either this forum, or on the Acer Tablet Forum there is a guide on how to flash these, but after searching for hours, I still am not sure if I know it correct...
Can I just flash the latest CM9 rom, followed by the kernel, in CWM, from an external sd-card, or are there any steps I need to do before/after that?
This is how it seems to be done considering how it went on my galaxy tab, but I am not confident that it is that simple on the A200..
Thanks in advance!
Greetings,
I have recently purchased my wife a Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7" tablet (model SM-T230NU). We are pretty happy with the tablet however I would love to get rid of all the bloat that Samsung adds into the OS.
Years ago I installed a custom ROM on a ASUS tablet that not only upgraded the OS to a more recent Android release, but also was clean stock android install. I am interested in a recommendation for a stable
Android ROM for the Galaxy Tab where I am not loosing any functionality. The Galaxy Tab ships with Android version 4.4.2. I'd also be interested in going to Lollipop or Marshmallow if there is a stable version available.
Appreciate any recommendations!
Cheers,
Torbuck

Hi,
My Tab4 SM-T230NU is only booting up to the Tab4 screen and just hangs there.. I downloaded the Acheron rom and a few others as well to try to get this working again.. I have installed the latest Odin software and the USB drivers, but can't seem to figure out how to go about installing the Rom using this. I also tried the Kies software, and it tries to connect to it, but never does, so that's out.. I also can't get it to go to "recovery" mode using the pwr,vol up,Home buttons, but it does go into the "download" mode.. There's no way for me to turn on USB Debugging in the developer options, so can I still install this rom using Odin? Thanks for any assistance.
