PS3 does not support MTP, so either copy the music to a PC and use a USB stick or live with it

Try the Media Server app. (or any UPnP / DLNA app you want)
It will enable you to go to Music>MediaServer and browse the music you have on your phone.
Then when you find the song/folder you want to transfer, press Triangle (Options) on the PS3 control and select Copy.
You want to copy more than one song, choose "Copy Multiple" (its at the top of the option bar the pops out from the side of screen)
Make sure you do this under the proper media type.. meaning if you are going to copy music, make sure you are under "Music" on the PS3.
(You can also do this with any file you want from your computer, by using the PS Media Server. Google for it, because I'm not sure I'm allow to link to it here on XDA. Its free and will stream content to your PS3 from your computer.)

Allshare and Xbox360...it works

I've tried searching through the forums to see if this issue has already been solved but I wasn't able to find a clear answer on XDA or through google... so I figured it out on my own If this solution has already been discovered and posted please let me know.
Anyways, I know a lot of us haven't been able to get Allshare to connect with the Xbox360 (really the other way around), but after a little toying around with different options, I came upon THE way to push media from any galaxy s phone to the Xbox...
1.) All you really need to do is to have media center set up on your Xbox360 (if you haven't, just follow the super simple steps provided by the software itself)
2.) Just open up Allshare like normal, and when you get to the select device screen, you should now see "xbox360 media center" instead of what you may have saw before which was just "xbox360"
3.) Now just select your media like you would anyway, and viola, your media should begin to playback on it's own instantly.
...this should also work the same with regular media center on pc.
As I said before, if this has been posted, there's no need to flame me. Just let me know and I'll take it from there lol.
If I'm in Media Center on the 360, nothing shows up under allshare. If I exit Media Center to the Dashboard, then I see "Xbox 360" in allshare, but I can't do anything with it. Your steps are pretty vague, so what am I doing wrong?

Anyone know anything about this? Success playing devices from vibrant via xbox 360?
I just played a picture slide show and played music loaded on my Vibrant on a big screen TV using my PS3, works perfectly connecting with All Share
Is it possible to allshare Avatar?

I am having trouble as well. I can select the 360 from my phone but nothing happens on the TV and my 360.
I have my 360 connected to the internet through an ethernet cable and my phone using wireless, could that be the issue?
If anyone has gotten this to work can you shed some light on what you have done differently.
Whenever I do this it keeps saying my Xbox 360 requires a update to play my media, and I install the update and it still asks for it -_______________________-.
Its works flawlessly when the xbox and vibrant are both on wifi

So do I need to actually have a media center pc all setup through xbox in order to get the xbox (media center) to show up in all share? I have a pc that I play videos from on the xbox but its running xp and when I start media center in the xbox it checks the network then displays a code and tells me to finish the setup at xbox360.com. Am I missing something?

That's correct. Your xbox needs to be set up and linked to your Media Center PC first.
Bummer....

Can anyone confirm that this works on Media Center Extender v2 (DMA-2100/2200)?

Since you got it working perfectly maybe you can help me. I was able to see the samsung galaxy s in the ps3 video menu and start playback from there but i was not able to get the ps3 to show up on the allshare menu and thus I was not able to use the phone as a remote for the video on the ps3. If you could post what you did to get the ps3 on the allshare menu on the phone that would be great. I would really like to have the control on the phone so i dont have to get out a ps3 remote.
Still can't get this to work. The 360 never shows up in the list on the phone, but the name of the PC that the 360 is extending shows up... twice. If I select it, nothing will play.
The other issue is, most of my music is on my external SD card, but when I select that as the default storage location in the AllShare settings it doesn't find anything.
The Allshare app worked with the 360 from the 1st day I got my Vibrant (Jul 2010). However, I thought it was lame (for my purposes anyway) because it but seemed to require a Media Center PC. It doesn't look like that has changed. Skip Allshare. I eliminated the PC by using Twonky from the Market. Any other DLNA server replacement from the Market may work as well too. If you like / want to have a PC in the middle, this simply ignore this post.

[Q] Stream music from PC to phone?

What's the best way to do this?
I was reading into uPNP. I got a uPNP plugin for foobar2000, and got it working for streaming stuff to my phone over the local WiFi network.
I tried to use PlugPlayer on Android to do this over the internet, couldn't get it to work though.
Does Winamp for Android do this? It says you can wirelessly sync with your PC, but that sounds like it downloads all your music to the phone, I just want to use my phone to browse a list of music on my PC at home, and stream whichever one I pick to the phone.
I'd like to be able to choose the bitrate I stream at also, the foobar2000 uPNP plugin has very good options here, I just need to find an Android app to play it
Hi, have u looked at audiogalaxy, im using that, sounds exactly what u need.

How to Stream playlists/music etc.. ?

So I will be recieving this beauty Next week and I was looking around but cant seem to find the answer.
I wish to stream my WMP or Itunes playlists on my tablet when I am home.
I did buy a Portable HD, but not really usefull to always copy my computer playlists over it and such.
Really looking for a streaming option.
I don't know how enamored/entrenched with iTunes you are, but once i entered the android world, I moved my music over to google music. It can be streamed or downloaded to your devices via Google's music app.

Google music will automatically import all your iTunes / wmv music and auto sync from that point forward.
Google music > iTunes

Yes, though you'll need to sign up with a US proxy (just for the signup, after that you don't need to worry about it).
Also, download Skifta or some other DNLA app and you can stream shared music and movies from your network (WinXP/Vista/7/8 machines, XBox360, PS3, and more support DNLA).
EDIT: See you have an S2X...Samsung calls their DNLA client for their phones and tablets AllShare, if you've used that, Skifta does pretty much the same thing.
Yeah i got skifta using it for vids. But I found that for music it wasnt great. Just managed to sync my principl plulist on google music!looks good

You don't need US proxy for sign up, its available in the UK now. Just upload all your music to the cloud, install Google music app, play.

He's in Canada, like me. It's not active here yet, so we still need to use a proxy for the sign up.

My only concern with Google Music is there is no offline player. If your net connection goes you loose the ability to play your music.
OK you could just navigate to the folders and play them as they are, or use something like iTunes but it kinda defeats the point

Think you missed the point. I was specifically talking about desktop support where the local hard copies of your music are stored
I don't see why it is a problem that you can play your music with any application that you would like to.
I'm confused why your desktop is even in the discussion. Google Music will let you stream music to your tablet or phone without any interaction with your desktop. You can continue to use your desktop as you do now.
If you want something that streams directly from your desktop then look into Subsonic.

[Q] Transferring music from s3 to nexus 7

Hey guys I was wondering what is the best way to get all my music from my galaxy s3 onto my Nexus 7. I have over 200 songs and don't want to re download them all and was wondering what's the easiest method to get the from my s3 to my nexus 7 thanks!
Find a PC and copy them onto your N7!
Try Google Music! Just upload all your songs and play it on both devices. Works great for me.

Hmmm Im trying I cant seem to get it to work.
And when I try dragging my music files from my s3 to nexus 7 it always says it wont play try again or skip.
Wifi File Explorer to transfer wirelessly. USB OTG cable and either flash drive or card reader with card to physically copy. Mount the s3 via USB to your computer, copy files to PC, mount Nexus via USB and copy files from computer. There are more ways I'm sure. I didn't suggest Bluetooth because its too slow.
