[Q] Airplay pandora? - Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Sorry if this has been asked before, I can't find a straight answer.
I'm a huge apple person (i know it's like a nazi asking a black man for directions) but I got it for more like a home entertainment device, I love android, but I still need my iPhone as my actual phone but I love having the nexus 7 around. I have an AppleTV hooked up to my receiver in my family room but I can't figure out if or how to stream Pandora (or anything) to the AppleTV. I've read it can be done but I haven't seen how!

You can try an app called twonky beam. I don't know Pandora, but twonky works as a standalone product or on other apps that use the share feature of android.

[Q] What is the coolest thing you can do on your phone?

2. What is the most useful thing for you personally?
The coolest thing for me is being able to stream espn3 and watching live sports from the browser.
The most useful thing for me is being able to sync all my gmail, tasks and calendars. Also the app super private conversation is a life saver!
Remote desktop. Still my fave feature.
What is super private ?
I like being able to:
Remotely access my PC
Control my TV, DVR, Bluray, etc
Open my garage door
...all from my phone!

play media from my dvr, listen to audio through my bluetooth (comes in handy at work) access my pc from my phone, send sites to my phone through chrome browser, download torrents and watch xvid, divx files on rock player watching green hornet right now!!
super private conversation lets you add certain people to a list and then it will hide their txts or calls and put them in a private folder.
How do you control you're garage door with your phone??
I use it to call people
Seriously the coolest thing is I can swap ROMs at the drop of a hat. Make it be and do what I want it to. That's the coolest.

TV, DVD, etc is done through my Logitech Revue.
Garage door (lights, and stuff) is done with X10 components.
I also like being able to stream 100+ gigs of music from my PC...
Love this phone!! xD

i <3 google listen
x2 on X10 home automation, that's probably the coolest thing I use my phone for. The most useful thing is hard to pick, but sharing my PC and phone clipboard using Tasker has probably been the most useful for me.
Since you guys mentioned it, any way to access my mac from n1?
How is reliability for x10 products ?
Are you using a wifi to rf base..or pc in between ?
No probs with x10 reliability for me.
I connect through the PC, which means I can control lights and stuff from anywhere (work, etc), rather than just close proximity...

Watch Directv on 3G or wifi, stream my home or business surveillance systems live with slingplayer. Remote desktop with teamviewer from linux or windows. Download torrents, or get music with gtunes. Google voice translation, gps navigation, practice french. SSH,FTP, wardrive, port scan. Who doesn't use the N1 for a quick shot of porn

Dlna what types of devices and what apps?

As above says, I have an Xbox 360 and my trusty xoom. Can I figure a way for xoom to function with skifta or something of the sort of app to allow me to do this? All answers are appreciated!

I'm sure that if you Google a term like "Xbox 360 Xoom streamer" something will pop up. I know its pretty easy to use a xoom and a PC, so I'm sure its not much harder on a 360.

I've had mixed success with Skifta, 2player, and twonky. Generally, if I want to display my entire music library, I run into trouble.
I would recommend BubbleUPnP. I've had a lot of success with it.
Not my area of expertise but just to throw an idea out there, would the DLNA app that shipped on the Bionic work on the Xoom also?
I use PlugPlayer here. Ain't perfect (my personal experience with DLNA clients under both iOS and Android is that they all have different issues), but worked well enough for me.
Was tested with Mezzmo (Windows) and MiniDLNA (which I ported to the WDTV Live).

[Q] Nexus 7 as win7 monitor?

Is there anyway to make the Nexus 7 work like a monitor on my win7 64bit computer? I have searched the Web for this for quite a time but haven't seen anything yet. I would like to use it as a kind of "media controller" so I can have Spotify (desktop version) or winamp there to change music while playing games at the computer.
The reason why I want it with the computer and not as a separate device connected to my speakers is I want sound from my computer as well.
I hope you understand what I mean//Alvin
There are plenty remotes for that in play store.... i have one for vlc and one for spotify on my tab but its sent for repairs and i dont remember the names of them
Well that would work too. Do anyone have any favourites? The problem with Spotify is that I don't have premium so I can't use the official "stuff"
My best tip is to try a few either til you find one that fits you or you get tip..... search and look at the pics in play store.... read the reviews..

Air display is an app that you can use to extend your desktop onto your tablet, as if you had two monitors, works good for me.

Can you use the touch in any of these?
Splashtop Remote or Unified Remote should work.

yes Splashtop HD(displays pc screen on tab),unified remote(just to control mouse, keyboard, apps) are best one.
Also you can use teamviewer, gpp remote.
Testing iDisplay, if that doesn't do it for me I will test the rest of your advices.
Sorry if my English is messed up. Not native language.

Don't try that.splashtop is better than that.
I have tried idisplay couple of times but don't know why my laptop hangs every time
iDisplay works well for me atleast. Really laggy though, But that's something to expect?
Try PocketCloud. I use it for server admin quite a lot.

Is there anyway way at all to mirror out to a tv?

Is there anyway way at all to mirror out to a tv? I want to see what's on my nexus on my TV. I have been reading for almost 3 hours doesn't look like you can. Please help. I know Samsung cords dont work because n7 doesn't support mhl at all, miracast probably won't happen to us at least any time soon, nexus q will only stream your videos and not mirror whats on ur screen, and there's some thing pi rasp idk exactly what's its called. Is there anything that works? Sorry there's probably a thread about this I scrolled down for 10 mins and didn't find one. I will update my first post with any findings to help anyone easier.
Thanks everyone!

too much trouble for me to do though
There is if you have an AppleTV, it's called AppleTV Air Play Media Player by Zappotv and it's in the Google Play Store. It's pretty cool it uses Apple's Air Play protocol to send your Nexus screen's picture or video to your big screen TV.

AirPlay Equivalent

I've just switched from iOS after 4-5 years and got an S4, , must say I'm pretty enjoying the customization and the air gestures probably more than I should be. One feature I miss from iOS is AirPlay just because I could stream YouTube vids to the big TV on guy night get togethers. Friend told me to check out this forum as the "biggest android forum", so I here I am. Ive seen Miracast mentioned a fair bit around here and was wondering if that's the best way?
No Smart TV, just an ordinary Samsung 42"er.
Live in the UK if that matters.
Cheers.
Buy a allshare cast dongle!

Or use the YouTube app and pair it with your tv, you need a smart tv or a console that can download like an Xbox ect
