Hello there HD2 users.
Finaly we most likely made a native android bootloader for HD2. All we need is more testings. I replaced my HD2 with Arc S so I am unable to test it personaly. The question I want to ask is : "Is there anyone willing to donate their old HD2 for testings ?". We buyed all used HD2 in adds here and we cant buy new ones since there is no more HD2. Is there anyone willing to donate their HD2 for testings that will hopefully make this phone a MoFo HISTORY phone. Thanks in advance.

I can't help you regarding the HD2 because I'm using it as my first device, but I hope that someone has its old HD2 in a drawer and ist willing to help this great project.

I hope same. We discused about releasing publicly but better not cause people here do things litteraly and I dont want to be held responsible for noobs who will come and say U BRICKED MY PHONE. DIE etc. + regular method via usb is harder to flash and not so reliable as direct flash. If someone more popular here can help me with this I would apreciate. Even if I left hd2 i love it. Its the greatest phone of all

Hello all. The same people that opened up the Athena device, worked out numerous unlockers for many many devices and are now working on the newly released Polaris device are offering up our team and skills. Only problem is we have no devices to develop on. What we did on the Athena project was raise enough money from donations for 4 devices. There was an overwhelming response and the results were a fully unlocked device and customized ROMs. We also took it a step further and made things possible that were not in the original release of the device. If you guys are interested we can start-up a similar project. Up to you guys, the community.
Of course it's not necessary to start up such a project. I'm sure a developer will eventually purchase a device and do something with it. Time will tell.
Goals of proposed project:
- Unlock device
- Expand WM6 capabilities
- Remove as many limitations on device as possible
- IF possible, add phone and GPS capabilities
- Cooked ROMs

I'm currently trying to get a job around the Shift .. but I have to wait for septembre (if the project is not refused) and in this case, I could make a Master Thesis upon the Shift and many abilities that comes with it.
I'm trying to get the shift the soonest as possible and as soon as I will have it, I will start developing the most I can (Cooked ROMs, Expand WM6 capabilities are the MOST important for me).
I'd love to work with XDA developers but as I'm from Belgium it is not currently easy .. and I don't even know if the Shift is "really" released here.
What can be "nice" should be a collaboration between Shift users and XDA developers. I think that Expand WM6 is the first goal to reach .. and I'm sure that we will find how to get FULL WM6 !

pls. let me know how can I turn it too full WM6system. I bought Htc Shift. and after then I found, it has no full WM6 system? Why? pls help me. I am biginner in system and registry problem, pls write it step by step. thx.

That's basically how we all did it on the Athena Project. Established a few goals, outlined the details then kicked some butt.
The Athena, being the monster she is...now runs more stable, faster and has the latest and greatest. You guys might want to look over at the Athena forum to see how the project did. We started at v1.0. Everyone loved it. Went on to 2.0 and 3.0. Now we're working on 4.0 which is going to be a nice surprise for everyone.
We'll see if anyone else is interested. For now I'm more than happy with my Athena but if people want to move forward we can get things going. Just want to know if it's something that's wanted.
Shift is a nice toy but damn HTC for what they did to the WM side. I have no idea what they were thinking here.

I wish I could just give you the how-to but it's not that simple. HTC did some pretty nasty things within this wonderful device and it'll take some serious hacking around and time to get things unlocked then working. We're not sure what the extent is, yet, to the full capabilities but if the community wants to move forward with the project, we can setup a PayPal account to start the donations and essentially repeat the enormous success accomplished under the Athena project.
Like I said, IF it's even possible...our team can get it done. Just another toy that needs to be shaped into a work of art

Ok, that's two yes answers. Let's see what others have to say. Be back later, stepping out.
personally i think the shift is just begging to be hacked! i'm part of the athena project and would help in shift project too.
now that it's revealed how to access \Windows and file explorer, the next step will be creating a virtual USB connection to the vista side (this is possible!), then you can use activesync and can flash roms too, and we (with Olipro) can make hard-SPL and even simunlocker if there is a simlocked version of the shift.
the WM side of course needs a properly cooked rom, put the functionality and apps back and customizations. and of course we need to enable lots of hardware, i'm sure at least part of that can be managed (from SD and wifi to phone and GPS).
i can't wait to start hacking on this but first a device is needed.

from what i seen in the test roms, gps and phone shouldnt be too hard to get back. wifi just might be a bit harder. the antenna and all seem to be there as the test roms have a gps tool

As far as I can tell this is allready happening with the abyzou rom. I recon 5-6 ppl are working on it, or atleast they have been.

Programming is like an art! Everyone have it own style! I doubt it would be possible to make such a team, as everyone would like to put something from his own in it, while other one wouldn't like it!
Some developer can help other, like someone could help abyzou rom to get camera and sens! Then the person who helped could use working camera/sens for his own rom.
i can be one of your testers and if i've time i can try to study something to let it work on froyo
Work in such kind of things in teams its very hard if there is no leadder,no competiton and more than 2 or 3 people.
Frist of all the leadder has to set the objectives and asign each team member a work.
As i can see in the forum there is a big
cooperative spirit and i can asume than all of you visit tattoo forums frok your contries.
We are a lot of people.
We need someone to lead all of us, someone testing, programming or weathever...
But for teamworking is better to own a laedder.

ikxdf has just made a 2.1 nearly completely functional. Support him now and then we all could work on a 2.2 porting

But, i think the ROM must be basic...

Most kernel devs and people who get android working in the first place don't really read the forums here much... you're not going to get their attention like this. Talk to them in irc.
Didn't cotulla just get a working rom made for you guys a week or 2 ago? I'm sure if you get one of your devs to go talk to cotulla or any of the other devs on the htc-linux irc channel, they could give you guys some help or ideas. The HD2 is not similar to the HDmini at all, so things done for the HD2 won't really be of any help. Also, don't expect things to happen to quickly... the HD2 was lucky with how quickly development went... most devices take years to get a decent working android port.

Cotulla did get andorid working with haret, but, with some bugs and not all drivers are working, like wlan, gsensor, radio , battery driver etc. Now some dudes are trying to develop further with cotullas project , but in my opinion they are having some difficulties also. In addition they have less and less time to deal with it cus u know they have their own life also . The reason why i wrote hear was someone posted in hd mini thread and suggested it.

Im calling to developers who can help in that project im believe that nothing is impossible and im dont wanna believe that there is no one in this forum who could not do it. A lot of people waiting for that as I do. Im tired of just waiting but im to far from knowing how to do it. From my part i will donate 100$ for fully operational skype for everybody like for me and for me like for everybody. Yes it is difficult, as i see it is not harder than porting a rom from one phone to another. I would help with money if it's needed but I think that the best way would be a team leaded by a big brand, such as HTC itself that did these pda with win mobile (6.1!!!) when the whole world was going to choose unix-like os.
Now I am passed to an (not so old) iphone4 and I miss a bit my blackstone... but windows mobile was really bad, the worse os I tried.
You also will have difficulties if you'd like to sell it.

too few touch HD users left.
I actually know a fair few people with the device, 2x as work mobile, 2x family members still using, 1x in a drawer after upgrade
but I bet most have moved on or sold/scrap now

but i know, may be hate me some people in xda but i dont know at the moment. if you want just bann me.
I just want helping some blackstone users if i know. And i know that this site the right place for real development.
May be i make some wrong issue it my custom work but i want make it better.

Thanks to your information.
So i look that its posted IceBread nand, for me its okay. No needed closing, I and ~ 20-30 ( i think this score its much more ) people we can confirm that nand its finally booted and working with some minor fixes but it has bugs with panel but not a big problem, big problem is Wifi because i think its not compiled with tiwlan0 module :/. On CM7 i have one times 3G after i playing lot of with apn. but i dont know how to do this again :/ , First in the kernel we need rebuild because herrickwong not share his latest good kernel source for nand.
