[Q] usb socket replaced, gap appears and LED is wrong

Hello,
recently I spilled some water on the back of the phone. somehow the USB socket got the worst of it and stopped functioning correctly (only charging using a specific charger worked, no PC connection).
I bought a replacment USB socket from ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/121421147473?_trksid=p2059210.m2749.l2649
yesterday I followed the video guides to open the nexus, and replaced the usb socket.
now, after closing it, a gap appears in the housing in such way, that socket is not perfectly alligned, so when I connect the micro usb cable, it doesn't go straight in, I have to give it a certain angle.
it looks like this:
from inside the phone, the usb socket sits perfectly good. I just can't get the clips in the housing in the usb socket area to close.
anyone knows how to deal with this?
also, since replacing my usb socket (the usb socket has the LED on it too), the LED configuration is not the same.
what happens is the wrong color is flashing. I tried "Light Flow" and "LED Color Tester".
for example, I choose Yellow, and Magenta is flashing.
what going on?
thanks!
The same is happening to me. I replaced the usb flex (bought from ebay) a couple of weeks ago and the LED only shows magenta, even when I choose a different color. :crying:
I have all the colors available, not only Magenta.
the problem is the written color is not the same as the color that actually flashes..
anyone?
I have the same issue. I seem to have all the colors but when I choose red it's blue and blue it's red and so on. I contacted the seller I bought it from and they said it was a problem with the main board and to look there. I am at a loss as to what to do next. I was thinking about taking it all apart and cleaning all the boards with alcohol to see if that does anything.
I was given the phone non working and there seemed to be water damage on that board. I replaced the battery and I have to order the volume buttons for a third time because the first set never showed and the second time I got 20 screen protectors for a galaxy tab.

Note 4 N910F USB Connection Problems

Hello Guys, I have a Note 4 here, which had two seconds contact with clear Water. The Screen and the Camera broke. I've tested the function of the Phone with an MHL Cable and i've got a Picture, so I ordered a new Screen/Camera and replaced it.
The Phone is working without any Problem excluding the USB Connectivity. I can charge my Phone without any Problems but I cant connect it to any PC. I've tried 6 Cables on 3 PC's and 1 Tablet but it is only charging.
I activated the Dev Settings, switched from Charging only to MTP back and forth and I get still no Notification in the Status Bar.
My USB Stick with Mini USB wont be detected either.
So I ordered a new Charging Port Flex, connected it with the Mainboard, attached a USB Cable to it but still nothing.
The Phone is charging without any Problem, only USB Connections are broken. Is it the Android 6.0.1 Update or the Mainboard broken?
Sorry for my bad English, it isnt my native Language.
Edit : Odin Mode isnt working either, so I think its a Mainboard fault.
Guys? :/
Push?
Could someone please reply with something like : yo, your Mainboard is broken, rip.
Yep, done that right after the Water contact.
If it's not the motherboard it could be a dead short between pins 2 & 3 on the USB.
I replaced the whole USB Board with Flex.

Rip Note 4? :/

[help] tab a 8.0's usb port won't detect anything

Hello everyone,
Currently i have a problem with my samsung tab A 8.0. Days ago i accidentally dropped my tab while it was being charged, resulting in red Cross with lightning icon while i tried to plug it on anything, and suddenly all of my usb otg were not detected and it was not detected on my pc...even usb debugging was not detected too...i had opened its case and checked the continuity of its micro usb port and it still seemed ok...now i have no idea about how to solve this, do you know what to do if something like this happens?? I suspect its pcb track is broken so maybe i will need a new motherboard again...
Hello, anyone?
How are you checking continuity? You would need to check it between the end of the USB cable and the solder points behind the micro USB pins. No point in testing to the actual pins.
The pins that solder to the board are extremely small and difficult to resolder, some sort of magnification is really required.
The way I do it is by using a solid conductor wire wrapped around the end of a decent soldering iron. Even then it's a difficult task and requires a steady hand.

Did I end up frying my Blackberry PRIV ???

Hi,
I recently bought a Blackberry Priv whose touch wasn't working and it had a black spot with a vertical and horizontal red and green line lit up ...
I wanted to access the phone through a OTG, i was able to briefly get the mouse cursor, but turned out the OTG had a loose contact, and the cursor wouldn't show up anymore, so i ripped my OTG cable and set out to rebuild it as a DIY project ... after much trial and error i think i was able to successfully build one.
I connected my DIY OTG and the cursor was back on the screen, however when i tried to operate it on the screen it left a trail of pixels when swiped on the screen ... scared thinking i may have damaged the screen i immediately rebooted the phone ... on reboot the trial of pixels weren't there anymore ... THIS WAS PROBABLY MY WARNING ... HAD I HEEDED ... i wouldn't be here writing this thread ... but i guess whats meant to be will happen anyways.
The mistake is that i wanted to check the voltage on the OTG cable when it was connected to the device ... i took a multimeter and touched the Ground and Vcc points on the OTG USB side to get a voltage reading ... poof the PRIV went DAAAAAAAARK ... aka ... DEAD ???
i don't know ...
Is that the end of my device ?
is there any safeguard build in android phones at the micro USB charging port end, something like a fuse(an IC, transistor, some component that will bear the brunt of a faulty charging wire/data cable) that will protect the sensitive and critical parts of the device ?
If i have to proceed the hard way ... is there a circuit diagram available for Blackberry Priv so that i can track back the components which might have been fried as a result of the STUNT (of touching Vcc & GND on the OTG cable) i pulled ?
:crying::crying::crying:
