Sorry for the noob question
Wondering if there is a way to watch netflix offline? I travel a lot and would like to watch my silly shows while in flight.
Nope, netflix is a streaming service, you can't watch offline.

Thanks, any other alternatives?
Without internet, the only way that I know of is to put some movies on your internal or SD card. Avi files will play. If you need a player, Moboplayer from the market works well. I use the paid version of MX player.

Well, this is going to go nowhere fast. Sorry, but as a streaming service, you obviously cannot get it offline. Your best bet is to load up some movies on the SD, and take them that way...

This is the biggest issue with android in general for me. There is no official movie/TV download service. Blockbuster has an app on some devices but not a lot. Streaming movies and TV is worthless for plane rides or those of us with wifi only tablets..
Are there any legal ways besides ripping dvds anyone uses that aren't streaming services?

this is not about the blocking or anything like that , my question is , i really not into watching the movie on my device but would rather watch it on my pc or something, how would i rent it from the market place and be able to use my phone and transfer it or stream it to my pc,
im using acs srf 1.2 so i dont have allshare.
I really didnt know how to post the question and make sense at the same time.

Not if they enable our tv-out feature. We could stream it directly from the phone through the AUX port.
Also, I'm sure there's a way to stream your phones screen to the computer through the use of an application on the phone and on the pc. Could be wrong, but it seems remotely likely..

You can rent from other places online for your PC like Amazon.
Yeah, I'm not sure why would want to do that... the Android movies are $1 more expensive on average, and probably would be lower quality. Go on Amazon or something.

My main thing is , i would not want to rent a $4 movie on my phone only to be able to watch on my phone and thats it, I could care less what other services there are. I was just curious if there was a way to stream to our pc once we rented it.

Being able to stream it to another viewing device or not Google movies gets a big YOU SUCK for blocking viewing on rooted phones.
Has anyone watched a movie from the marketplace yet? Maybe it is possible to use the dlna feature. I have my pc connected to my tv and my phone Wireless networked to my pc. Not sure if it would work for rentals.

not trying to be rude , but I dont remember asking you to save me money lol.
I do however think that it should be possible to stream the movie from my phone to a pc.
I think would be kind of nifty you rent a movie on your phone , you watch it , go over a friends house and say hey I got a movie want to watch it?, and be able to stream it to their pc or something.

I understand the premise but I think that is what Google is trying to prevent because once on a PC it can be recorded easily. There are too many apps for computers to do this. This is also supposedly why the root block is there (not much of a lock though).
All's Google needs is a lawsuit from a movie company stating they are the reason it was bootlegged (too many lawyers in this world).
I'm sure at some point you will be able to access the rented google movie from your google account on your pc. And I am betting you will be able to with a google enabled tv as well. I'm not sure if it works that way now but it might in the future.

It's been rumored that rooted devices will not have access to rent/buy movies using Google's new Movie service.
Am I the only one holding back on rooting my device because of this? I tried thinking about it yesterday, and I do not know of any legitimate way to download a movie (legally - paid) and transfer to watch on my Tab. More to the point, I'd rather just rent at $5 than buy at $15.
I've been a rooter since I had a G1 and was always a proponent of rooting, but I don't want to lose what I feel is a key feature of a tablet -- the ability to watch movies.
I know that's not the case as of now .. I have the new market on my Fascinate .. rooted and can download movies and books like a champ. Maybe its something they will fix later . But isn't the case as of now .

My 10.1 is not rooted, and the Google Video app doesn't show up in the market. When I go to the web I can find the app, but my Samsung shows up grayed out and the market claims the device is not compatible with the Video App. I've got it on my Asus Transformer and Acer Iconia tablet though. All three live in the U.S. with me. Anyone have a clue? Maybe a direct download of the video app?
I can confirm that movie playback is indeed prohibited when SU is discovered. I can also confirm that the work around listed previously, er, works.
iTunes it isn't, but it is a legit way of getting media on an Android device. Much better than Samsung's implementation.
I'm one of those odd people who will hack their device on a whim, but won't download illegal media. If I'm going to watch something, I'll rent or buy it.
If Google closes the work around and I have to choose between root and movies, root wins. No contest

Not a big deal for me. Have an SD card+Conector so I can stock up on movies before going anywhere.
My Tab is rooted and running Task's ROM and I rented a movie with no problems. It played on my Tab without mentioning root. When I tried to watch on my rooted Galaxy S2, it said it couldn't play on rooted device. But I found a modified Videos app that worked.

Is it just mine our do all tegra 2 tablets suck at video playback?
Does anyone know of a fix?
I can't get thru a 5 min video without it stopping 4 times. It's enough to make me want to throw it out of the window at times.

I have not had your experience. I have browsed to YouTube using Dolphin for Tablets as my browser and watched a video. I have also used the built in YouTube app. Perhaps you have a poor WiFi connection, bad routing to the source or something else.
I would suggest a bit more investigation?
Happened to me before. It went away after I upgraded my crappy wifi.

I'm getting on average of 20mbps up and down so i'm certain it's not my wifi. I'm running the revolver 3.1 rom with the stock kernel. Can't figure it out. Might be time to just trade it for something different. I have a touchpad that doesn't have an issue with video playback so it has to be something with the transformer, mine I mean.

You're getting 20mbps sustained transfer up and down? over wifi? On your transformer? I doubt it. If video playback actually pauses rather than stutters then it's 99% bet to be your wifi or other network issue.
IF you actually have stuttering then review the link posted above to fix flash in dolphin or stock brower.
Also I would try streaming a high bitrate video on your network locally to completely rul out the browser and flash.
Try this rom, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1245892
