[Q] Video Out - Droid RAZR M Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Has anyone had any luck with video out using MHL or is DLNA the only option? I see some cords around that show support for the razr m.
Thanks

Can you post URLs to these cables, this device supposedly doesn't support MHL. I am a Data Tech Lead Lead for CenturyLink and Verizon, so I am very curious

[Q] HDMI not recognised - please help!

Hi -
I'm trying to hook my TF up to my TV (panasonic bravia) to test out playback of some movies.
I bought a new HDMI mini-> HDMI (from Maplin) and nothing happens when I plug it in and hook it up to the TV - is anything supposed to happen on the TF when connected? I change the TV to the appropriate input for my HDMI and nada. Nothing.
There's no recognition of the cable on the TF at all - I have carefully ensured that it is in as far as it will go. No icons. nothing
Is there anything else I can do? Any settings? - I looked but couldn't see anything obvious. Does the TF need to be plugged in to power when connected to a TV?
Many thanks for your time!
No, there is nothing else to do....it just works when you plug it in.
It could be one of two things; cable or your tv.
I've heard people with both problems.
Hook it to someone elses HDTV with that cable to check...
Mine doesn't seem to work in my Panasonic big TV but works with my little Samsung?!

Does your tv support whatever resolution & frequency the tf is outputing and have you gone through your TVs settings to see if you can adjust some setting?
Also with some other devices people have noticed issues with HDMI cables that support Ethernet.

[REQ] microUSB Video Out for PC

Hi, I'm wondering if there is a video out option for PCs, Ive only been able to find mhl hdmi adapters for the nexus 7.. would it be possible to modify the hardware of an mhl adapter and/or develop an app that allows a PC video in connection via microUSB for use as a dual monitor?

Still no hdmi out option?

I searched on amazon and eay and found out there are some optios for hdi out on devices without hdmi out(micro usb to hdmi).
Do they work on nexus 7? Is there a dock from google or something that supports hdmi?

N7 does not support HDMI output, it is a hardware thing, been discussed before

Not sure
I heard about a USB to HDMI converter but I'm not sure it is gonna work on N7

[Q] Any mhl 3.0 cable for GN3? (4K hdmi output is possible?)

Is GN3 cable of 4K hdmi output? I know camera has 4K recording capabilities...
Thanks
NO, its MHL2, dont Support 4K, only FHD (2K).
The USB3 may support OTG at Super Speed, but nothing extra.
mirrorlink
On a somewhat related topic, do we know if Note 3 has mirrorlink?
Thanks, but this is a hardware or software limitation? Or both....

I'm pretty sure the MHL3.0 spec was only just announced. No device has it implemented yet

The S4 was the first device to implement the 2.0 spec, for MHL 3.0 I wouldn't expect anything sooner than S5 and perhaps not even that soon.

Yup u need the one designated for the s4. I sent u that link as an example of what they are. Personally I would get it from samsung. I've bought 3 that said they work with s4 and they didnt. I have a friend who got the one from Samsung and his works fine.

a lot of them DO work with the S4 still that are "older" mhl adapters, but you also need the 5 to 11 pin adapter for those to work like this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0089...qid=1388224095&sr=8-10&pi=AC_SX110_SY165_QL70
Otherwise, just get one line what was noted a couple of posts up, as it's already utilizing the 11pins and saves you the trouble. (make sure you're getting a legit one & check the reviews!)
Alternately, you can get the allshare cast hub (by Samsung) which also mirrors via hdmi.
It is also possible without an mhl dongle or allshare cast hub to push things (pics, movies & youtube) directly if you have tv/home theater/blu ray that's dlna enabled to push to.
I've done it from the older mhl w/ 11 pin adapter, newer 11 pin, allshare hub & by dlna enabled device without issue. I mainly use the latter nowawdays, but still use the other methods on occasion because of the screen mirroring.
As a side note, both mhl adapters are OEM.
Its sad I didn't know this thing had HDMI out capabilities
