[REQUEST] Froyo ROM with Sense?

I know it's possible now since there are Desire and Incredible ROMs running Sense on Froyo, so I'd be very happy if a developer could figure out how to port one of those to the Eris. Obviously they're different screen resolutions (and the Desire is GSM instead of CDMA), but it must be possible. Thank you in advance!

Hah, for what? It's your 2nd post and your already trolling? The man is asking something pretty simple, if someone would be willing to do a port on an EXISTING rom or if anyone is currently working on one...no need to report.

Been around long enough to know no one likes it when people post these types of things. You think some dev hasn't already thought of this? You think his question is going to motivate them? It just clogs up the page.

If a dev has thought about it or has been messing with it, nobody knows about it yet(for the eris at least). Maybe someone who has worked on that type of thing (porting) or others might be interested.

lol...somehow I doubt a joining date of "July 2010" with 3 posts constitutes being "around long enough."

I don't know about everyone else, but I have no problem when someone posts a very benign request. There's nothing wrong with what thenestor did. He made a legit post throwing an idea out there with the hope that the devs would comment on the possibility of doing it.
What I do have a problem with is a new punk user coming in and throwing weight around that he doesn't have. The only problem with this thread is that you posted on it.

umm... that's a LEAKED rom... I believe theres a difference between LEAKED & ROOTED roms..
Once you go onto a leaked rom, you lose root privileges..which is NOT what you want...
Then again, he might just mean that its leaked to everyone else, thereby not really a leak..

please explain? im running a cyanogen Tazz froyo rom and i still have root privileges? is it gonna change if you port it from another devices?

From what I gathered, it's a leaked OTA ROM that has been modified with the superuser apk and such. So it should still allow for root access.

Depends slightly on what's being requested really. Requesting someone make a Sense 2.2 ROM is different from requesting that someone make a Sense 2.2 ROM with X Y and Z added and A B and C removed.
He's not requesting a customized ROM, just asking if someone was doing a Sense 2.2 ROM.

hes asking developers to build a specific rom, regaurdless this is not the place to ask for a rom to be made if you have a request, speak with a devloper in his own thread on a private note, and ask there.
DO NOT CREATE A THREAD TO ASK IF/FOR A ROM TO BE BUILT IN THE DEVELOPER SECTION.

Something About Most Android Builds.

Ok so there is many varieties of android builds for the hd2.
FOR ALL OF YOU WHO HAVNT EXPLORED THEM.
They all have their defaults. Most of them which ive experienced were touch screen freezes.
Ive tried shubcrafts build, mccm's, froyo, etc. All of them had this problem. Ive used different roms as well to go with these builds but they didnt help. They are all not perfect so dont expect to have a fully funtional android build on your hd2. MOST OF THEM ARE DECENT DOUGH Im currently using superhd2's build. Credit goes to him as well as all the other builds ..
If any one reading this has experienced any problems , will you please explain them here just to help all these other noobs like to see what to expect.. THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL YOU HARD WOEKIN DEVELOPERS. EXPECT A DONATION SOON.

If you care about our developers and want to make jobs easier, try not to spam this Development forum section. Use the Android General section mate.
Also, what you have stated can be found in the sticky of this forum section.
Screen freeze is a well know issue since day 1. There are remedies for it. Search is your friend. I do not get any freeze problems with my mattc 1.7 using lastest Evo Kernel.

actually i do mind. im not a jerk or trying to be but there is plenty of guides out there for noobs like you to understand what you are doing. android on hd2 is experimental so if you dont know what your doing or dont want to bother to do some proper research you really shouldn't mess with it

+1 for that. If someone has NO IDEA what they are doing, then you probably shouldnt be messing with swapping the kernel in the first place. READ till your comfortable enough with it. Thats how i learned.

[15 FEB][CWM][★★★★★]HyperDroidGBXv5[AOSP-2.3.2][a2sd+][KER:RAF1.7][SMOOTHEST,OPENSRC]
You can find it on the first page. This rom doesnt require a lot of knoledge of hacking. Everything you need is included. Also, the developer responds very fast.
Only thing I dont like is resolution of the screen. The rom is customised and the author likes smaller density of the screen. Everything is very small but there is an instruction how to change it.

Dont like a thread? Dont respond. If its going to get removed, a moderator will remove it. If you have an answer, then give it.
Dont sit there and massflame, nufags.
I suggest MDJ's CM7 2.3 release. Its quick, and as far as Ive seen, troublefree.

I have also doine my fair share of posts in the wrong place and been flamed for it. heres the catch though, xda mods and staff have put a lot of effort into making this site as efficient and helpful as possible. When ppl just randomly post stuff because they didnt bother to search or try things themselves then you end up with random stuff posted all over the place. and the site would be a huge mess....trust me i have seen it. just go into some of the other forums and see how they look.....a mess. No its not nice to flame ppl but............in that thread there are 14+ posts and 1200+ views in less than 24 hrs. so had the question been answered nicely and no one flamed him before it got moved then all those ppl that post the exact same type question in the Q&A will see instead of waiting for an answer in there they can just mnake a post in here and it will get answered by someone as yourself. INSTEAD he got gently flamed and maybe he and the 1000 newbs that saw it learned not to post here. DONT TAKE IT PERSONALLY.

I come to XDA to see if there is something new, but lately most of the time in the Blackstone forum most new threads are all about OMG tiad8 says he's gonna do something!!!

They probably should put a post count limit like 50 or 100 to post in here. I think 95% of LEGIT (none of these 'posters' posting threads with OTHER devs work in it stating ohh Im doing it for him...for what reason is that?? then the actual dev cant update .) devs have usually over 100, but maybe make it 50? idk I think 100 but I think 'atleast' 50.
That could help with this type situations, and should be possible with vb im sure. because they just [for whatever reason] get lost/confused and its hard on the mods.
