The AOSP browser is not included since Jellybean, therefore the "stock" browser on Jellybean would be Chrome, by definition of "stock".

Is there a way to get the cm9 browser on cm7? I extracted the APK, but when I try to install it, I get " there was an error parsing the package"

Doubt it. There are certain things the APK may be looking for during installation that is not in CM7 and thus won't install. I'd just use dolphin browser instead.

Nope it uses the Android 4.0 SDK framework to make use of hardware acceleration and such that is not supported on Gingerbread (CM7)

download it(not from the market) and install it. make sure that unknown sources is enabled(main device settings, security). or there are a few flash installer apps in the play store. flash wont work in the default chrome browser(chrome isnt flash capable), but it will work in the aosp android browser.

Thanks can I just flash any version?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
no, since previous versions might have some capabilities issues with jellybean, its probably safer just to flash the latest.
Theres a thread floating around that has the adobe flash link on the 1st pg.
PM me your email and I'll send it to u.
As stupid as thus may sound where do I download this from?

At least you tried!
You'll have to try revolt/rootbox or one of the other roms combining features of aokp/cm/pa. Besides that the only other thing you can do is set up a custom build environment and manually build a rom yourself.

For someone who hasn't yet installed Paranoid Android yet, what's the difference between the LMT pie and Paranoid Android Pie?
Please, can anyone upload Android 4.3 AOSP browser???

chrome is fast too, but it sucks battery as much as it can, just use dolphin browser with jetpack, its super fast and battery efficient
I was using the Aosp 4.2.2 browser with the 4.3 leak without any problems, but now with official Deodex ROM it just closes after opening. There has to be a way for it to work if it did with the leak.
Deodexed APK from Android SDK
Just extracted AOSP browser from android 4.3 sdk. Works well on nexus 7.

No, 4.3. First tried the 4.2.2 browser(on 4.3) but didn't work. Then downloaded the 4.3 source and extracted the browser apk and odex from it and deodexed and the browser worked.
Does it work on 4.2.2 ?

You don't need to be deodexed to use the file. Have you checked the permissions and renamed the BrowserProviderProxy.odex? I'm using the browser on stock rom which is odexed. Anyway here is browser apk with odex file.

Had to delete the source, took too much space. Only downloaded to get the AOSP browser. If anyone has the source they can check for the new version.
I find next browser to be better then aosp. Try it out, it is also slightly faster in my tests

Thanks for this but I was unable to get it to show up in the app drawer. I pushed it to the System/App and set the permissions correctly and rebooted but no go.
If anybody gets this to work let me know how
You cant move an odex file from one device to another device that is a different build. Someone needs to de-odex for you.
You could root and use the apps browser from the play store. Can side load flash and use it, too.

If the AOSP Browser is force closing on you, you can also try Android Browser on the PlayStore.
Edit: Really? Four Catchyas in a row that I've gotten wrong...
