No known release date, but everyone is saying aug/sept. At that point it might even be worth waiting to see what ICS phones are coming out.

Galaxy on fire 2 thd not compatible with nexus 7

I'm confused but I understand that nexus 7 is a tegra 3 device. Google nexus 7 webpage claims nexus 7 can play galaxy on fire. However, Google play is saying galaxy on fire is not compatible with nexus 7.

There you go-you've answered your own question. When a major OS update comes along, some apps needs to be updated for compatibility. It would seem that's your issue.

4.2.2 removing access to manual lte selection?

Does anyone know if the 4.2.2 update removes access to manual selection of lte? I haven't seen anything about this either way.

I doubt we will know until someone gets the update and tries it.

I saw that some of the android news sites were reporting the N4 was getting the update, and they now show as being all the Nexi (plural nexus?) except the 4 are starting to see the update.

Nexus 7 Android 4.2.3?

When is coming android 4.2.3 for nexus 7? And if I update it, will i lose my root?
There will be no 4.2.3. Next step is 5.0, it's only few weeks away
Will we get it

Of course we'll get it. This is a newer Nexus device. That is one of the biggest Nexus device selling points.

i'm afraid that one gig of ram will no longer be capable of handling further android versions.

I assume you are implying that the newer android versions need more ram. If so does that mean that 5.0 will run slower on the current nexus 7?
Where can I read what is expected in the next android version?
Thanks

It's Android, it runs on everything. Some things maybe slower than others, but it runs, hence the Nexus One (512MB ram, can run 4.2)
I'm just trying to say that it might be sluggish.

I doubt it. They would discontinue the updates for the N7 before they would purposely release a new update that makes the device seem slow.

Google is very good about rolling out updates to their nexus line. There is no doubt in my mind that we will get it. Just a matter of time.

Nexus 4 I/O announcement question.

I want to watch the video of the nexus 4 announcement but I can't find it anywhere. Was it announced at Google I/O?

If I'm not mistaken, the N4 was never announced at google I/O. I remember the earliest video of the N4 was from TheVerge
I figured that's why I couldn't find it. Did it just pop up on the Google pay store?

I think so. I'm not sure because I don't have access to the Device part of the PlayStore.

From memory, I believe they had a big event (on a pier?) However, this was cancelled due to Hurricane Sandy. Rather than rescheduling it,they surprised everyone and just announced it - possibly along with 4.2 Jelly Bean.
I think that is what happened

Yes you are correct Google had a big event planned in New York for the launch and they canceled it because of Hurricane Sandy and just sent out a press releases about the Nexus 4 instead. Google doesn't typically show off phones at I/O, they used last years to introduce the Nexus 7.

There are a few Nexus 4 commercials that you find on YouTube. They're pretty good IMO.
