The H/W decoding support on a stock P6800 using MX Player is extraordinarily good in terms of battery usage. I've got 11 hours video usage on a full charge.
Does the P1000 support H/W decoding using MX Player?
Could anyone let me know what the battery usage is like using H/W decoding, if supported.
Thanks

Guys seriously?
Has no-one got MX Player installed on their tab and could at least let me know if H/W decoding is supported?
It'll take all of 30 seconds to check.
Thanks

yes it's supported but it depends on the video files too, not sure about the battery life but last i played a 720p 30min video eats up about 15% lower or above can't remember

Mx player has many codecs for different CPU's download and install
check your RAM. perhaps you are using big mem(403mb ram). change it to lower value.

I have problems with Hw decoding too but i have noticed its only with .wmv files .... so could it be that it doesn't work for wmv files ?
How can I get the sound to work in the MKV files with my. Nexus 7

software decoder
Just use something like MX Player and select software codec for audio, it should start working.
Also BS Player plays it all without a problem automatically (tried AAC and DTS soundtracks)
BS Player worked best for me with mkv's, smoother playback & less battery usage.

Thanks for info
Mx player works great for 720p movies but seems it can't really handle 1080p so I'm looking for a player that can..,,,,,besides that .I like it

Does clearing the data and cache of MX Player help?
The way I see it, you have 3 options:
1. Contact the devs and wait for an update to MX Player which hopefully fixes this issue.
2. Return to 4.2.2.
3. Use another player for the time being.

There is a test version on their site, won't play 720p mkv or HD aac, if you need that though there is a vlc debug nightly that is pretty damn good. Good luck, from what I hear the devs from MX can be a bit slow on pushing fixes.
Try VLC

After I have rooted my phone to 4.4 it doesn't include a reliable video player just a gallery one with built in video player, the thing is I'm not impressed on it so I'm searching for a good one. Can anyone suggest?
Thanks in advance guys.

MxPlayer, by far...
+1 For MxPlayer!
Plays everything you'll ever want to play, has every feature you will ever need, and tons of features you never thought about and after you use will never be able to live without. On top of that, it's super stable, greatly optimized and as regular updates.
What more can you ask?
Dice player and Mx player are both very good, theres one called Vital player, use to use that one aswel, was really good back in the days on the desire lol.

I guess I would choose MX player instead since dice player keeps on closing whenever I play video
Thanks everyone. =)

MX Player never really gelled for me ... Dice player works perfectly and plays everything.
Hey ho each to their own, variety and all that.
