The Lumia 505 specs are mostly unknown for now - all the carrier's Facebook account gave us was the 8 megapixel camera. We can also see that there's not going to be a flash of any kind alongside the camera.
However, the Windows key at the front features the old WP logo, so it's all but certain that the smartphone will be running some Windows Phone 7 version.
Now a closer look at its homescreen shows the support for resizable live tiles, so it's obvious that the smartphone will be running Windows Phone 7.8 out of the box.
There are also rumors of a 4" WVGA display, 800MHz CPU, 4GB of storage and 256MB of RAM, which make sense, but are yet to be confirmed. It would be a strange if Nokia invested too much effort in the design of a smartphone that is going to be exclusive to a Mexican carrier, so the Lumia 505 is most probably little more than a redesigned Lumia 510.
Guerrero Movil promised to reveal more information on the Nokia Lumia 505 in a week, so we won't have to wait long to find out.

no idea. Lumia 510 is a good choice though.

I really doubt that is Windows 7 (unrelated : isn't it weird how the desktop version and the mobile version now have the same name? )
And after reading the comments on the other thread I seriously doubt that wm7 will be released this year:
1) they're still working on wm6.5
2) releasing wm7 so close after wm6.5 would be ummm....counterproductive?
Until we find something on the internet really identifying it as WM7, I'm a skeptic.
microsoft has already said that wm7 wont be out till next year (prob march/april) its only developers that get it in november i think
Yes, actually that does look like WM7. A while ago a large number of concept screen shots came out. The credibility of those screen shot and the story behind it could be debated. But IMO sure evidence came in the form that in a MS live mesh commercial there was a brief shot of an HTC touch running the exact UI that was leaked. This looks like that interface with a few tweaks/improvements. I am trying to find that original story.
*edit* not the story I was talking about but all the shots were like this one:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/blinx_182/3265548956/
*edit 2*
The first two pics are from the live mesh commercial. Note, WM7 is not really running on his device. They are screen shots. I was fooled at first. lol.

Here it is. The full story. Not the original site I saw it on but looks like the same pictures and text.
http://www.zakeh.com/2008/01/07/windows-mobile-7-details-leak-cool/
That UI was found on a WM device in a MS commercial. Evidence enough to me that at least at some point this is the direction MS was going. And I like it.
I think wm7 will change alot over the next year as they get feedback and see what every one else does.
This might be early code but still about 6 months till developers get it then another 5 months of changing as they get feedback from developer
My guess is no. Hell no.
It looks a bit crap, not to mention VGA (why would MS be developing a 2010 mobile OS in VGA?). I'm very sceptical.

Zune was supposed to be in 6.5. They skimped on us.

HTC's hipsteriffic invitations for a June 24th event in London contained precious few clues (DUDE'S WEARING A ROSE), but the Economic Daily News is now reporting something totally reasonable: it's for the Hero and Lancaster, HTC's presumed next Android phones.
Curiously, the paper refers to the two phones as one device, in two versions differentiated only by a keyboard.
The HTC Hero will be available in two versions, with and without a QWERTY keyboard. The model with a keyboard will be named HTC Memphis, or HTC Lancaster for sale by AT&T exclusively in the US for six months starting the third quarter, the paper indicated.
It certainly looks like there'll be a bit more than that to set the devices apart, and for the sake of variety, I hope there is. In any case, we'll be there. [Economic Daily News via Digitimes]

Looks like we won't be getting the Hero, or we have to wait until after the 6 months AT&T has it exclusively?
that phone is UGLY!! the mytouch 3g or what ever their calling it . looks way better
The version without the keyboard will probably be Hero, since the Lancaster is the one for AT&T.

how about this one?
http://ow.ly/b3EG
Anyone noticed that at least the Lancaster version has only a 240x320 display?
If this is also true for the HTC Hero version, it would be a clear disadvantage.

LMAO!!!!..............You are absolutely right. And why do they intend on doing the "Chin" thing on these devices. I mean im not really complaining(Lie) but i really want to know why and what purpose dos it serve.......lol im just saying.
this means that we're gonna have a better hero build with bluetooth that works
HERO CLONE RUNNING WINDOWS MOBILE 6.5, Check this out, i dont know wether its weird or cool
http://www.wmexperts.com/htc-hero-clone-runs-winmo-weird
The specs on that phone are so low that I wouldn't go anywhere near it.
From working in a phone repairshop i seen phones like this everyday most where nokia , pretty good fakes
According to wm experts they say its made by htc
"The new HTC G3: a clone of the HTC Hero but sporting WM6.5?"
I thought it was a clone, now i am confused lol
its fake, i work on photoshop all day if you look at the offical htc hero images they have a fake lens shaddow all the way down that has been cut and pasted

FAKE
think about design before you speak
yes, i know that the hero G3 clone does not
meet the same caliber of specifications as does
it's htc-designed and built predecessor but
a real phone nerd would appreciate what the design
process is to an engineer...
are you gonna down-rate
a design that is meant to be cheap
on purpose; i mean, come on. stop
being so "hugely" corporate.
i tested and used this phone and
it's actually suberbly designed; stable
and power-saving. no drain. it
eat's very little charge.
given that it depends on which of the "tiger"
manufacturer's we are talking about.
open your eyes a little.
The fact it uses cheap crappy software and relies on the HTC Hero's brand name for marketing isn't at all "corporate" ....
And it uses very little battery because the hardware is hugely inferior (see you're previous point...)
I fully appreciate the design process - so what makes it fair for others to steal someone's design work and sell it on?
[playing devil's advocate here]
Best part is the text on the image does not match up to the information text posted below it.
Thinking of giving my hero to the wife what phone should I get next?
Money is not an issue.
Looking at Dell streak, galaxy S and Desire.
Have thought Abt going to the darkside but like
Open source of android
If money is not an issue, then go for the iphone 4, I meet yesterday a mate that works apple, he has one, and I was using it last night, the pictures taken with are great, and no signal problems at all, we where inside in a pub, I tested the phone for 30 minutes, doing everything with it, multitasking etc, no probs at all. Once my contrat is finished, I will get one myself.
Another Hero
Or maybe a Desire but not an Iphone because the OS isn't as modifiable than Android..
I'll wait for nexus two...
or some new device with 2MHz processor and gingerbread!
I leave iphone 4 to conformist people
I am leaning toward the galaxy as I want a bigger screen
The streak might be a step too far
Ip4 looks nice but not fussed about the OS and I don't like censorship
NOT iPhone 4!
iPhone 4 is one peace of big ****. It can't even keep its connection to mobile network.!? wtf! lol
Dell streak is a really good phone but I personally would love to have a HTC Evo 4G...
And plus it is ready for Gingerbread...
Dell sounds like a good option. I personally won't buy a HTC next time and won't recommend HTC to anyone since what happened to my phone after their recent firmware update. It took so long to roll out and then almost bricked my phone making me to switch back to the old version of firmware. No decent phone manufacturer will send out an update that fails so bad without any support.
the best advice I can give to go a place where you can try these devices, and than make a decision.
I'm sure I will buy a Desire after the Hero. I tried and I love it, big screen, fast, has 2.2 soon and very responsive : )

So, as of late, I've been reading up on the whole 'Windows 10 on ARM devices' debacle. I've recently come across an article stating that Qualcomm has partnered with M$ on this project (some time ago, actually), and they're supposed to be releasing Snapdragon 835 based Windows machines later this year.
This got me thinking about what that could potentially mean for us smartphone users. With the release of the DeX station, it opens up a perfect avenue for a full (true) desktop experience built right into our phones. I know this is all wishful thinking at the moment, but I honestly see an opportunity for something amazing (given we have an unlocked bootloader for the Snapdragon variant).
Sorry for the shoddy paragraphs. I've been awake for a good day and a half, and wanted to get people thinking about this before I forgot myself lol. I'll leave a link to one of the articles talking about
SnapWin (idk) below.

Unless someone plans to build a kernel from scratch, it's gonna be a no go. Given android uses a Linux kernel
