Logcat for Team Union Rom - Galaxy Note 10.1 General

Sorry, I dont have enough posts yet to post in the dev thread so hopefully someone will add this to the Team Union Rom thread for me.
Basically, I installed Team Unions Rom after performing full wipe/cache/dalvik and format system.
The rom installs fine but I'm getting random reboots and occasionally it shuts down.
No apps are force closing and it never does it while I'm using it, but can often do it only a few minutes after I set it down beside me as I hear the Samsung boot noise and look down to see it booting.
I've never looked at a logcat so not sure what to look at.
To try to resolve it I've reflashed, and flashed full/small/extreme all with the same problem.
I'm going to try Paranoid Android Unofficial now while I'm waiting for N8010XXALGC_N8010BTUALG7_BTU.zip to come down from Hotfile. Then I'll try going back to stock to see if I have any issues.

Are you having M8010/N8013?
then you need to change CPU governor to "Ondemand", this should solve the problem.

Yep, I'm N8010.
I tried searching thread for "shut down" and found nothing.
I've just installed Paranoid Android so I'll give that a go later.
Is that a known bug?
Thanks for the help,
Conor

Yes its a known bug, i also had it with Cyanogenmod, if you'll have it with Paranoid, try change governor.

go to settings then tap on SET CPU..tap auto recommended then change the SCALING to on demand

Is this as well as changing the governor?

Scaling equals the governor.
It is known that on all wifi devices you MUST use the ondemand governor with all the roms made for N8000 else you'll get random reboots.
No problems at all when you switch to ondemand (standard is pegasusq).
Have phun

Done. Nice one!

2nd post woohoo
Nice work on this, it's awesome to have this as part of 1.6. I had a question and asked Butch about it also.
I/O scheduling, not sure how the different settings change or effect daily use. I had set it to deadline because I thought that was sort of "default"
Any info would be great.
Are random reboots common after changing settings?
As in my changing my heap size or CPU settings I get a random restart and when my TB comes back on I got a message in my notification bar saying dirty reboot detected. Settings not applied.

Here's some good information I found on the various schedulers:
NOOP
Anticipatory
Deadline
CFQ
BFQ
SIO
Hope this helps...

You're setting either your maximum CPU frequency or dalvik heap size too high.. try reducing them a bit.
Also, please be aware that your phone automatically reboots after changing some settings (such as the dalvik heap size) in the toolkit in order for the changes to take effect.
Is there any way to display the current settings for various things, like the i/o scheduler, heap size, etc.? When you select them it gives you options to change, but doesn't show what the current value is.

Is there a way we can have it prompt us and also maybe to a clean shutdown or reboot so we do not get that notification?

Root tools by jrummy on the market can display current options. Maybe ask him how he is doing so? I think it would be cool if we can see what they are. Or save the settings to a file when we change stuff and have your toolbox read that file.

LOl that was basically Butch's answer too
I guess from skimming those BFQ seems like a good idea ... "shrugs"
Is there a way to add option to change/configure notification power widget buttons.

I think you got a great start on the toolbox so far! The toolbox in Liberty ROM from my Droid X days is what I miss most. It would be great if you could incorporate some of the functions of that toolbox into this one, such as applying themes directly from the toolbox or downloading any other add-ons that may be available. A tool to edit the pulldown bar or manage the boot animation would also be cool.

I am hoping to see this expand to be something similar for the BAMF series of ROMs.
No, thats not a storm. Its just my Thunderbolt layin down this post.
Loving the ROM, thanks.
I too, think that being able to easily change or select which power control widget was in the pull down would be awesome.
This is the stuff. Keep up the great work OP! Much appreciated!
I can,t wait until this releases. I have been totally happy with 1.4 & 1.5 BAMF remix the hard work from everyone and us that enjoy the beta testing up these awesome roms. My wife may not be happy more hours spent flashing, tweaking, and hours of seaching the net for answers, new skins, themes, icons, etc......
Cheers,
I would like to see the CPU's "real time " frequency the way SetCPU shows it. . Is this possible?

Experimental kernel with the BFS scheduler for the custom rom 160

I'm not responsible to any damage which is caused by applying this kernel (boot.img) to your phone !
I've built a new kernel with BFS scheduler which is created by Con Kolivas (http://ck-hack.blogspot.com/) by patching genokolar's overclock kernel source (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1059029).
I've tested this new kernel on my phone, I'm running the custom rom 160 which is created by stockwell (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1059753), so far I'm quite impressed by the quick responsiveness of the phone even I set the cpu clock back to 800MHz in conservative mode.
Unfortunately the WiFi is not working, I hope later I can do factory reset to see if that will fix it, anyone willing to give it a trial and let me know the result is very appreciated !
Please note you may need to wipe the dalvik cache after install and reboot several times.
Updated : 2011-Jun-16
Looks like firefox adblock plus block my upload file.
I've tested this kernel several days, it works quite stable for me as long as you can boot it up, there may be a pop up says that system is not response during boot up, just ignore it.
There two things I found so far...
1. wifi is not working
2. battery drains out faster and warmer, I guess that's relate to overclock, if I set the clock back 800MHz, it seems ok.

What's the profit with a Brain **** Scheduler?
Cm7 uses the Bfs too.
Wikipedia says that that is speeding up the responsibility from your phone.

But will it serve good purpose ?
What happens if they add a bogus algorithm instead of the brain **** one?
as soon as wifi is working i can try it and report bugs (if there are any)...

CM7 does not use BFS. We decided it was too buggy. It causes all sorts of instability on the Blade and other devices. Probably has a similar effect on the U8800 after a while

Using wiki as reference isn't the best.
However seeing that it does some bogus at points where the active thread of a normal priority process wants another time slice, and in ready block there is a lower priority process who wants a brief time slice it gives the time slice to the active thus allowing stupid **** ups. I guess its not good at all ?
Some good patches to add might be BFQ and the smartass CPU scheduler. Both seem to be stable and have good performance on my Blade and my Wildfire

Lol why sorry? Just clarifying that while CM may have used it in the past, no official CyanogenMod ROMs include it
BFS404 is pretty stable and I've been running it on my kernels for about a month and I have no complains, everything runs smooth, fast and battery friendly.

Camera constantly FCs

Running ComRom 2.1 with OTB 1.6 using default settings and the ED04 radio. Can take a few pics then when I try to exit it locks up and I either wait for it to reboot on its own or three finger press it out to save time. Anyone else having camera issues like this. Just started getting bad the past three weeks or so.
Yes, there are a few people that had that issue. I moved on to CM7 and dont have that problem anymore.

Nope, total noob with that. I figure the default would be the stablest so I kept them there. If you have any settings that work for you please share...and provide as much detail as possible please.
Your best bet is to try a TW PBJ kernel (-50)

Voltage settings with OC

I just loaded the Inintial Contact Rom on my Sprint Tab. I found the voltage control/OC utility and was wondering what settings ya were using. I have searched these forums extensively and have found nothing on what people are using on these tabs. Thanks again

I haven't seen your ROM or Kernel (which is the far more important component when overclocking) so I'm not sure what it's capable of but you can see a couple of people (including me) share settings here.
Overcome can go up to 1.6GHz so I usually leave it on 800-1400 MHz as a general rule, with the same cascading voltage scheme I shared in the link.
Thanks that somewhat of a baseline to go by. This ROM just came out a few weeks ago and i just got the time to load it. I am running a kernel by rodderick. Fastest I can clock to is 1200mhz.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Yeah I think that's as fast as that kernel would let you Oc I have the exact same set up.

Overclocking on intial contact
After you move it up to 1200, save the settings. Close the program. then go back in. You should be able to move it higher? I'm pretty sure that's what I did. I flashed initial contact today. I'm keeping mine on 1200 for now... I don't feel like being too risky yet.

[Q] Won't stay over clocked?

Hi
I just flashed lean kernel and gave it a day or two to settle down
I have been trying to over clock it and it just won't stay that way
Every time I restart it just goes back to how it was
What can I do to make it stick
Thanks

If you have more than one dameon control installed they may conflict with each other and revert back to "stock" at start up. Are you using set cpu to overclock? Does your rom have overclocking abilities in settings?
Lastly, did you see an option 'set on boot'
Sent from my HTC Vision using xda premium
According to what you've said, its most likely due to the powerhal. The stock powerhal reverts back to 1.3 GHz after a while no matter what you set it on. Best thing if you want oc is to flash imoseyn's 1.5ghz powerhal found in his rootz thread

Yes its ticked as "Start on Boot"
I'm on stock rom but LeanKernel, I'm trying to overclock with ROM Toolbox PRO but it keeps reverting to 1.3ghz, 1.5ghz is used if I overclock everytime I restart but then reverts when rebooted.

Yeah I think your right here mate, did a little bit of research over last few days and it seems PowerHAL is the culprit.
Could you explain what that PowerHAL is and how it effects overclocking etc?
Im guessing its like the native frequency setting?
Thanks !
