The hardware is way better. Oled touchscreen that works through gloves etc. Nokia drive. The camera is WAY better.

Lumia has four times the storage for the same price (both are non expandable). Lumia has louder speakers. It has a bigger battery.
To me, the only advantages of the 8x are the less chubby feel (shouldn't be a problem coming from this phone, though) and the better (imo) design. Also the front camera is a tad better.

This is in the wrong forum.
A discussion I had once with my friend...
Me:"Damn, the HTC 8x is so f*cking sexy! If only it were-"
Me & Friend:"Any good at all." (spoken together).
It's a nice device but it's just a normal phone. The competition (lumia) has a lot of features you'd be a fool to turn down.
I'm personally going to get the 820 over the 920 for the following reasons:
-I refuse to buy a phone with non-removable battery (the 920).
-I currently have a 4.7" phone, which is honestly a tad too big to be practical. The best fit for my hand was my 3.2" phone. They don't make good phone that small anymore, but the 820 being 4.3" is fine.
-The 820's SD card slot is going to be a strong point because WP8 allows for sideloading xaps, and the SD slot is the best hope for cracking WP8.
-My current phone is 480x800 and I couldn't give a crap about higher resolutions. The hardware will perform better with such a low res and my battery will last longer.

Don't you mean
"iPhone 5 or SGS3"
?
More seriously, have you tried asking in the WP8 section?

I'd say Nokia. Their hardware is unbeatable.

I'm thinking about getting the HTC 8X and I have the Lumia 800 today. The reason for this is how it feels when you hold it, the 920 is just too big and heavy for me (and yes I know that the dimensions are quite similar but the HTC feels more slim). 920 has wireless charging and better camera (especially in low light) but the 8X has a great camera too. Also, I don't find any of the 920's colors attracting except for the white but it was very slippery to hold.
If you like the form factor of the 920 it's an amazing phone and if you prefer the HTCs slimmer design go for the HTC. Both are great phones!

I decided to go with the 920, I wanted the white but they only had black in stock so I settled. I hope I will be happy with it.

....I thought to get a Lumia 920 as a replacement for my HTC Mozart. However my provider (T-Mobile Germany) doesn't offer (yet?) this model. So I took the HTC 8X and I have to say that I am very satisfied with this device. Maybe the camera is somewhat better on the Lumia but the pictures I have taken so far are great and also the other features are absolutely satisfactory. So, if you don't absolutely need the better camera, I can recommend the HTC 8X (it is also cheaper)....

Nexus 2

Okay, so I've had my Nexus one for a while now, and I was wondering what they could possibly do to the nexus 2 that would make it even better. I'm thinking probably a faster processor, and more ram, but what else comes to mind?
would love to see a FM Trans to like "broadcast" to the radio....Like those transmitters for mp3 players....Would be siiiick to have pandora or something playing over car radio via my phone
Don't they have something that does that already?
better use of the snapdragon processor, but that's software related... I would like it to be more durable such as made from a single block of aluminium. Also a powerful graphics chip.

The HTC Legend is a sexy beast lol. I'd like to get my hands on one if it goes GSM.
Yeah, a more powerful graphics chip would be awesome, I just can't wait til the big developers start moving towards android so we can have some of the awesome games and apps the iPhone has.

I second this. God that thing is amazing. But it won't look right until the Supersonic comes out. THEN a decent Rom will be possible in my eyes.
But with Windows Phone 7 I can imagine the devs are busy porting that to it right now.

Not that I could care less... but I would really love for the N2 to have a true multi-touch screen to shut that debate down... 1GB of RAM, 4GB internal ROM, 4" screen, XVGA LCD or SuperAMOLED... I don't like AMOLED for outdoor use. 10MP camera, with xenon flash... and of course Android 3.1!

For less than $500 right?
I will be keeping my Nexus for 2 or more years, whatever comes around the corner - i'll just port it over to the Nexus.. since the N1 is like the G1 in terms of development and popularity, I should be ok for a while..
(this is really what I'm just telling myself.. I dont want my precious Nexus to become.. not worth the time of day anymore...)
Why does technology have to advance so fast!! =(
front facing camera for video chat, a high quality speaker-phone, a kickstand with a projected laser keyboard? an hd projector component
hardware keyboard
x
I myself am sick of the having to chase technology.... I'm done for a bit, my n1 will sufficient for a year, I think thats a good time to get a new phone, once every year...
N1 just needs adobe flash and apps to sd and ill be happy as a cucumber....
Video recording capability @ 24 frames per second (constant!) with DECENT audio quality ... like the Milestone. Why have a 480x720 video resolution when the video is laggy and audio is utter crap? Also a flash option on the video recording would also be good - again, just like the Milestone.
Finally, make FM radio work and you have the perfect device.
the 1ghz processor is enough for me. the current amount of ram is enough- maybe a tad bump is cool.
get rid of the amoled display, 4-4.3 inch display. no trackball. sleep/wake from a hardware button like g1/mytouch. being able to shoot hd video.
other than that... having the nexus one has finally made me not eager to look/have the next best cellular device. this n1 almost kicks my netbooks ass

The ATRIX is a good phone? compared to Optimus 3D, Sensation, and Galaxy SII?

I have an Optimus 3D, and an HTC Sensation and i can say are super powerfull devices.
I have the change to get an Motorola Atrix ( no 4G the normal ) But i dont know if is a good phone, i have got a Motorola Defy Few months ago, and well is cheap..
Just i have interest in the raw powers of 3D, and the camera, and the screen of course.
Thanks by the way and excuse my bad english.
First of all I don't understand why you would want a new phone when you have either of those. The differences simply aren't that big to make a difference in real world performance. Unless you are looking for some very specific feature that I missed.
However the atrix in my opinion is all-around a very good phone. Nowhere in the same league as the defy that you mentioned.
For the features you mentioned:
Camera is a bit lacking compared to your devices but is nice.
Screen is pretty accurate on colors. Specifically whites but is a bit less easy on the eyes then what people are accustomed to. Also is efficient on battery.
Atrix also has a very big battery if you find a good build
Being that you have those phones I would personally wait atleast a year before getting a new one if you want to feel any difference.

Haha, that two phones, only 1 is mine, the another one is from my father..
But well, mi brother needs a new phone and i want to see that atrix.
But however, this phone doesnt seems popular, and i want to know, why.
For mee seems a good phone, 1Gig of ram Tegra, QHD display, HDMI Out.. but the people doesnt seems interested on this phone, and i dont know why.
Maybe im missing something.
I don't think that there is any problem with this device, as you said, its hardware is superb!
However, the reason, I believe, that you cant see it in masses is the fact that at first its bootloader was locked and didnt alowed flashing whatever you want on it.
another thing is that altough Moto first priced it relatively low, the operators didnt followed and generally priced it somewhat high, especially if the lapdock was evolved...
anyhow, I think that it is slightly better then the sensation, and can cope with almost everything you throw at it.
If that's the case then well there's nothing bad about this phone (unless you don't like the screen. People seem to have mixed opinions about it).
I don't think you'll be dissapointed with it.
As for its relatively low fanbase... well you can just say it started out on the wrong foot. Nothing wrong with it now.

Ill be connected with the atrix for awhile. Even after I get an ics sandwich phone the atrix doubles up as versatile entertainment/internet device with the lapdock.
Iphone > galaxy s 2.
Choose between SGS II, SE Arc and Atrix. Chose Atrix and not regret it, but upgrading to 2.3.4
The true Atrix beauty lies on it's accesory set and Webtop environment.
I loved the Atrix without those accessories, but once I got the Lapdock and started playing with the TRUE HDMI capabilities, I was blown away!
I honestly think that no one can express their opinion about the Atrix without first trying the Lapdock with a modded Webtop.
I'm no Linux guru by any means, and I can tell you that it's really easy to hack the Webtop to do almost everything you do with a regular Netbook.

We just got handed imagery and specs of a possible HTC device in the works codenamed the Zeta. It's a quad-core handset, much like the Edge that was leaked last week, but it has a much faster 2.5GHz APQ8064 CPU along with 1GB of RAM running the show, on a 4.5-inch 720p HD display. According to our source, the uniquely shaped smartphone will come with Ice Cream Sandwich pre-installed with Sense UI (version 4.0 wasn't specified, but we'd be surprised to see it any lower on an ICS device) and have 32GB of internal storage space, an 1,830mAh battery, Beats Audio, Bluetooth 4.0, an 8MP rear camera with dual LED flash, 1080p video capture and a 1.3MP front-facing cam. Dimensions? We have those, too: the Zeta is said to measure at 109.8 x 60.9 x 9.8mm (4.32 x 2.4 x 0.39 inches) and weigh 5.15 ounces (146g). Pricing and availability aren't known, and we're still digging for more info. It certainly has an intriguing look; the sharp corners would be a huge departure from HTC's recent design choices, though it appears to have HTC's signature unibody build in the back. So are we just looking at a cool concept or is this the next flagship phone? We're hoping it's the latter.

Haha, it's all good man, I like the picture in there better too.
Anyways, this thing looks sharp! I wonder how it'd feel to actually hold it though. And 2.5GHz, quad-core is a ridiculous amount of processor power for a phone, it's crazy.
Yeah and the 2.5ghz??? My laptop sits at 2.1ghz...I could probably use Solidworks or Adobe Illustrator off of this phone sitting in class haha.
I wish they would up the camera sensors on it and bump up to Asia's megapixel and lens technology...13 megapixels and LUMIX lens~

wait this is for a PHONE? Holy crap ..... this would be better off in a tablet I think ... bt hey, some people crave power, so why not sell it to them?
This will probably be my next phone

Ok that settles it, this is the best phone ever created.

Ok so I entered into the Android world with an original Atrix. I was wowed by the "dual core processor". That phone was horrible.
I stayed with Android however and clang to Samsung for a year or so. I recently became fed up with my One X and S3 and was looking for something with better build quality. I found the Atrix HD. It's build quality was superior to the S3 and I much prefer on screen buttons. Obviously the One X had hardware buttons as well, which bugged me, but what really bugged me about the One X is that after 2 weeks, the beauitiful matte finish on the back started to wear off. This made the phone look uneven and cheap on the back with some parts shiny and others matte. I was completely tired of dealing with Android phones with poor build quality.Even the Atrix wasn't perfect, the damn sim door squeaked everytime you touched it, I actually thought about gluing it closed. Thats how much it bugged me. I am still spoiled by my Apple products that I used to own (NEVER AGAIN), but I love Android and would never go back to iOS. You have to admit the iPhone is a solid device hardware wise.
I then stumbled across the RAZR HD in a Verizon store. This was the best quality Android phone I had ever seen. I was sad that I could not buy it, as I have AT&T. It didn't take long for me to figure out that I could get one from Canada (Rogers) and it would work just fine with AT&T. After searching for weeks I FINALLY won a reasonable eBay auction.
My phone arrived today. This makes my Atrix look like a toy. This is the most solid and well built Android device I have ever seen. Certainly right there with the iPhone, if not better. I also was suprised to see that this phone has a much better camera than the Atrix as well. Also the speaker is the loudest and clearest I have come across. My co workers thought I was blasting a laptop earlier it was so loud. Totally blown away with this phone.
In my opinion this phone can not be touched right now. Sure there are phones on the market that have quad cores and twice the RAM, but I bet you those same phones don't have the build quality of this one. And if they even come close, there will be something else lacking, such as the camera or speaker (Optimus G). It just seems that the RAZR HD is good in every single category a phone can be.
I really hope motorola keeps this up and I can't wait to see whats next.

You see him trollin, you hatin? ^.^
I agree. This is the best phone I've ever used.
Consumer Reports have at the best Verizon phone available.
This is the best phone I've used as well, but my only other smartphone was a Motorola Defy, and while long in the tooth now, an avid development community on this forum has kept it going. It'll be getting 4.2 before my RazrHD gets 4.1, at this rate. Actually, scratch that, CyanogenMod 4.2 on Defy is at about the same stage as 4.1 for RazrHD.
Just waiting for the software to catch up with the hardware. I miss Jelly Bean, but I don't want an early alpha on my phone again, I use it for work.

Yep I think without a question the Razr Maxx HD is the best Android out. The build quality cannot be touched by samsung and htc sure there are quad core phones out but as someone pointed out they are running heavy touchwiz or sense skins that use up resources. I love it how close to stock android the RAZR is, its not like touchwiz and sense where you have to throw on a launcher just to get a decent experience.

This phone would have eradicated the S6, this phone looks stunning. Can't say the same about the final design as that black bar is annoying.
Also a RGB notification light would be nice.
I hope to see a vocal assistant like siri or svoice
Better utilization of the camera, the HTC m8 has a great camera, so does the m9 I'm sure. But it doesn't even compare when it comes to my old Nokia Lumia 920. Possibly partner up with Camera makers like Nokia did.

But the renders were not from HTC, they were all fan-based. Why get your hopes up for something that had no official links?
This is my issue with people's reaction to the M9. Although I'm disappointed with the design I'm also not surprised. HTC need to recoup some money and saving money on design means they can continue to move forward. It's good business sense. Design is already great, so address the issues with the M8 and bump the internal spec
I kinda like the front facing speakers of the one. I've never used an htc but it still looks nice for a change as all the prev phones iv used had a speaker on the back. Anyway, I think what htc needs is a notification led something like the OGP. That would be sexy.

To be honest, I'm not even mad at HTC for black HTC bar either. It's not a big deal really.
Seriously guys, if you want BOOMSOUND, and I'm sure you do, you need to be okay with some sacrifices. Those things take some serious space on top and bottom.
And it doesn't even look that bad in my opinion. If they move it that's okay. If they leave it, that's okay. Same with the uncentered top speaker grill. It doesn't bother me. That being said, i wouldn't upgrade to the m9 from the m8, unless my m8 was broken. Which it is. I think the m9 is mainly targeted for m7 or onex/evo4glte users that never upgraded to the One series because if the 4up idea (which wasn't even as bad as it was made out to be). Which means... They should have had the camera software ready. If they do fix it, then great. but they are already losing customers because of the stuff going around about the"disappointing camera" gahh.
I'd say the best design change would be make the next either thinner, or don't have the camera protruding. That's about it. The phone is beautiful. They should make the HTC logo on the back stand out more. The two tone colors are nice, they should make the HTC lettering on the rear of the phone golden, too.
