New update available. It's the new build, 10.4.2.18. Not sure what's been updated. When the update happened today I was really hoping in was 4.2. Ahh well.. It's coming, have to wait patiently.
Dumb question I'm still new....running CLEANROM 2.7 do I still get OTA updates? Does it break root?

What did the update fix/change?

Got the OTA update in România, everything went fine. No visible changes yet, though the kernel seems to be new. And yes, it's still 4.1.1, probably only stability fixes and performance improvements.

Once unlocked you won't get OTAs, even more so since you are running a custom ROM. If you want to have stock firmwares you will have to flash them manually.
I wonder when we'll see 4.2 for the TF300.... Looking forward to it.
Hi!
I installed this update a few moments ago. Anybody knows what has been changed? It would be less confusing if Asus would provide a changelog for each update...

A few things I've noticed about .18 build. It's smoother, as mentioned above and the standby battery life is friggin amazing.. I had mine in standby for 12 hours and it only drained 1%

I can confirm the battery life: it's better, both in standby and usage. Way better .

Do you notice random reboots ?
How should this be installed? I extracted the file and put in on the root of my SD card but it is not being detected like the last update I did.

Until someone does that, there won't be a rooted version.....

Okay, from the beginning I would like to apologize for this being a dumb question.
I have attached a file below of my Transformer installing firmware from Asus. I used to have Transformer rooted. Then I unrooted it, but I don't know if i fully unrooted it (is that possible?). So anyways I do not know if that loading screen is stock, or if it is from when I was on Prime 1.7. The reason I need to know this is because I am sending my TF to Asus.
Thanks in advance.
I had that screen when I updated to 3.2.1 and I never rooted.

I have not had time to play with my A500 much so I went the easy "replace update.exe on your SD Card" non-rooted ICS route.
Kernel Version is 2.6.39.4+
Image Version is Acer_AV041_A500_RV16RB02_WW_GEN1
How do I get back to factory setting/factory OS. Don't care about rooting (figure I will wait until one of you more smarter people root the ICS version)?
There is root for ics.
And I'm sure there's a thread to get to stock but isn't what ur on stock ics just a leak if the now push update? Can you not update the leak? Why don't you wait till someone extracts the new update and then u flash the update.zip should be available this week knowing our development members

Have a P3100 and flashed DDLF2 from samfirmware.
Few days later got an update pop up i.e DDLF3 4.0.4. Its really very smooth amd fast.
Few changes that i loved is the improved browser, smooth screen transition,
picture editor is simply awesome, nice battery life. And finally an option to change the
screenshot icon.
Let me know if i missed something.

Easy just go to download the zip file and inside that, there is going to be another zip file. Transfer the internal zip file to the internal memory and then reboot. It will boot up with a notification next to the clock. You start the update from there and then just let it install.
I did it on mine and its soooo much faster and smoother. Love it!!

My apologies. I'm not new to rooting or the Unix command line but am new to the fastboot stuff. I can communicate with the tablets boot loader via fastboot thanks to the jb update, but my boot loader is locked, and I don't want to unlock it just yet. Would I still be able to follow step 3 or is even that step reserved for unlocked boot loaders?
Well, answered my own question...
