Sorry guys im new to the my touch comin from the g2 recently. Is anyone aware of what ROMs don't have the bug where the battery drain is high when headset is plugged in?
Thanks in advance

From what I have found all ROMs based on 3.x kernel have this issue. Some even get very hot. The work-around I have found...is to use bluetooth headphones, however I also found that most do not allow GPS to work whilst bluetooth is on.
In the g2 ROMs the issue was cause by a camera driver... could this be the same case? I'm far from a dev but it was easy implemented by flinny in the g2 forums

i really hope they figure it out, i listen to music alot and battery dies in 1 hour with phone getting cooked. All the ICS/sense 4.x roms work perfectly though except minor lag. I wonder if their kernels could be used in jellybean because i once flashed elgins kernel on the oneV port and the heating issue appeared, reverted kernel it disappeared. Loved the PACman and CM10 but cant last 3hours with charge and superheated pockets

Same here. I get about 45 minutes of usage before the battery dies
I wonder if perhaps the camera can be frozen and have a 3rd party one in place...or is it the actual driver itself that causes the issue? (though why a camera driver would affect sound...)

Ya.. idk why it causes it but it was fixed in the g2 forums by a dev and a swear he said it was a camera driver. Basically keeps the device awake while plugged in.. hopefully a dev sees this and contacts flinny in The g2 forums. He had it fixed. Or maybe someone will port his jb build.. ....damn if only I was smarter

So I froze the camera, as I said I would try, I ran music for 2 hours (while plugged in) and surprisingly, the phone got warm but it did not get hot! I then unplugged it and ran it for 50 minutes, (up from 45), so the battery drain was also diminished but not very significantly. Still the phone only ran warm and not hot. So I think that the issue might be related in part to the camera.
On noice... ya like I said that's what a dev mentioned over in the g2 forum that got the other jb builds working too. Are any kernels (non 3.0) able to be flashed on jb without causing major issues?

Hello everyone...
I have 2 issues with my Transformer
the first one is that whenever i leave my Transformer for couple hours it shuts down !! doesn't occur when charging but it does when it's not.. even when the battery is around 80% !! i had this problem with ALL kernels except the stock kernel which i don't wanna use !! also had this problem for around 2 months...
the second one happened today when i left my Transformer "Charged" at 100%.. and after couple of hours i found it shut down but when i powered it on again i found the battery 27% !!
i went to the battery stats and found that battery was decreasing slowly and there was a gap (which means that it turned off) and after the gap it shows the battery low !! it happened within 6 hours !!
Please help me if you can... !! I'm using Revolver ROM 3.9.5 and "Blades Kernel 3" that comes in the Revolver Parts...
UPDATE : The problem occurs with the stock kernel !!
This sounds very familiar to the problem I had with my Galaxy S2 a month ago.
It kept shutting down every few hours, and it was driving me mad. Then one day I uninstalled the app greenpower, and it was fine afterwards. You don't have the greenpower app by any chance? If not, maybe it can be caused by some other app you normally use?
The battery might be hosed. Have you ever let it hit 0 before? A lot of batteries never fully recover after being fully depleted once or twice.

I never heard of this app... Just like i said it doesn't happen with the stock kernel !!
But the reason I'm using other kernels is because i wanna Overclock !!

No i never let it hit 0%... but i don't think that the problem is in the battery
However I'll try it and see what happens !
sounds like a silly question but i have seen it alot. Are you charging through a computer(USB) or wall?
It could be related to setCPU and the according profiles. Just recently I saw that my profiles were messed up after updating ROM and kernel. Might be worth a shot.
Reinstall stock kernel Issue #1 fixed.
Issue 2 sounds like charger shut off and left TF on not charging.
You've pretty much explained to yourself why the thing is shutting down.. It works fine on the stock kernel but not one that is letting you overclock.. Sounds to me like you are either overclocking more than it can handle or undervolting to much or both.
I can almost bet that its not shutting down completely and its just going into a state that the screen is off but the OS is hung up, so its not responding to you turning the screen on.. This would explain why the battery seems to be dieing when its sitting idle.
Not sure about it dieing while its plugged in other than maybe a fluke.
I don't wanna use the stock kernel.. it's really slow !!
and i over clock to 1.4 ghz only since i can't overclock more than that because it restarts itself endlessly if i overclocked more than 1.4 ghz !! i undervolted about -25 or -50.. not much !!
Yes i charge it on a wall or anything but NOT on my computer...
How can i change profiles in setcpu ??

No no you misunderstood! DONT let the battery hit 0.
First, you need to use more exclamation points !!!!
sounds like you are suffering from deep sleep issues. What rom are you running? also, have you tried running a custom kernel and not overclock it? You have several variables that can be influencing your issues, start isolating what may be causing your problems. the kernel seems the must likely of culprits, I would clear the overclock and install setcpu and run it for a but and see if you can replicate your issue.

Just try the non stock kernel, oc it but dont uv it, not all devices can handle uv, even if it is only a little bit. Even take it back too 1000mhz and try to increase the uv and oc by little bits at a time to see exactly what your transformer can handle. I think its the uv thats causing the problems. Experiment a bit and youll find the sweet spot.
I'm using Revolver ROM and i mentioned that...
I've never undervolted till yestersay.. maybe it caused the second problem
I set the clock speed at 1ghz and i'm waiting to see if anything changes..
Yeah... the problem still occurs even after setting the clock speed at 1ghz and default voltage !! using clemsyn kernel ver 22...
Every device is different. Differences in manufacturing etc. You might have a picky device. Plus these are mobile platforms. No fans, just convection cooling. They are not meant to be tweaked and oc'ed they way we do. The stock kernel is very fast. What is it that you cannot do on the stock kernel that the extreme oc let's you do?

I'm guessing my device is bad and it's Asus' problem ! i tried setting the clock speed at normal 1Ghz but the problem still occurs !! the reason i overclock is that because with the stock kernel i get slower web browsing and slower flash playback and slower overall performance!! however I'm back on the stock kernel to check out if the problem is gone or not...
I doubted my device couple months ago... because I've seen everyone overclock their devices at 1.6 GHz Without any issues !! but when i try to overclock a little bit more than 1.4 GHz it restarts itself endlessly !!
Had the same issue a few months ago. Be prepared to wake up to a dead TF.
I sent it back to ASUS and they replaced main board and battery. Under warranty of course. I suggest you unroot and use a stock rom for now.

You stated in an earlier post that the problem does not show up in the stock ASUS setup, but only with a custom ROM and Kernel. How does that make it ASUS' problem. If you buy a car that says it runs on 87 octane fuel and you put 100% nitro methane in the tank and it blows up it is not the manufacturers fault.
Any ideas when a stable mod will be available?

how bad is the battery life? about the same as the GB roms?
Only issues i have seen is random FC on launcher and gallery, and the mic mute/unmute workaround for calls
IMO its good enough to remove the Beta tag though

worse for some (like me) where for whatever reason our phones wont go into deep sleep mode. not everyone has the problem though, so you might get lucky.
I don't even remember how good/bad life was back on bionix 1.3.1, but if you aren't at a desk job where you can charge your phone for a chunk of the day, you may not see 8 hours.

mic problem here, but no FC.
I dont know, been running it for two days, and have reflashed it twice and still have fc on launcher, and browser. Maybe it will smooth out this time. Maybe not.
From V7 and I upgraded to V8 and it is awesome!
Only issue I have is when I receive calls, other end cannot hear clearly(Mute/Unmute should work...)
And screen rotate is little slow from CM7 Gingerbread but no complain. I'm hoping it will be better and better with new version.
Only big problem I have is, my Samsung Original Desk Dock and Car Dock sound won't route. Oh, my battery charging indicate is not working sometime. It is charging but indicator won't show. Atleast it is charging...
So far I love Passion ICS v8!
I love this rom!!! but I hate having to deal with incoming calls, having to hit mute and unmute just to have my phone act like a phone. I hope this gets fixed on the next update.

Yes sir, I was reading in one of the i9000 ICS threads (can't remember which) where it was stated by the dev that GB bootloaders were needed for deep sleep, not just to get rid of rainbows.
Stability comes with updated phones meant for running the roms we keep chasing :-/
Yes you can say I'm in the wrong forum blah blah....but I have no interest in this phone and will eventually get another vibrant to run stock 2.2 I'm running 2.3.5 and its no better than 2.2 lol.
But the vibrant is much better in every way......oh and the "4g" ain't **** and I live in Orlando city limits

Decided to go back to Bionix 1.3.2 for now.
I love the whole ICS layout and it was zipping along when working.
The FC decreased with each update, but the mic issue forced me to switch back for now.
Mic issue affected me mostly when receiving calls. When this is fixed, I'll try it again.
I get Force Closes only on Gallery and sometimes my app menu will close but other than that have found no real problems..
I have noticed downloading seems to be a bit slower than CM7, but it's still fast enough for me.
The other little thing i've noticed is that it takes a little while to install apps... I don't know if thats to due with ICS on our phones, passion, or what... but again I can deal fine with that it's not a big deal.
As for battery, I came from CM7 so it had the GB Bootloader... but until I completely drained the battery, and charged it to 100% then recalibrated, killed it one more time then charged back to 100%..
So far I have 14 hours and 18 minutes on this charge, battery is still at 56%. Usage is light, web, messaging, phone calls, and I played one game of Drag Racing... My battery is from July 2010 so it's not a new battery either. \
Calibrating your battery really will make a difference.

Great battery on v10, had one launcher freeze. The only remaining issue with mine is an 8GB external SD (2GB mounts just fine).
I think I used the phone for at least 8 hours straight since v10 came out.
Ill stick to team toxic until this hits a solid final, that mute issue would drive me bonkers lol

Hi all, I am facing a strange problem, my phone is switching off automatically indicating low battery. However when I plug in charger battery indicator gives battery more than 50% sometimes close to 75%. I've tried a lot of ROM's mostly based on great work by Marcellusbe CM7.2 Alpha 8.3. Following are the list of ROM's I've tried and faced the same issue
GB:
AOSP GINGERBREAD STYLE ROM
CyanogenMod 7.2.0-RC3
Kyrillos' ROM 10.5
Currently Using : Pranjal's ROM
KISADWORX ROM v7.2.1
ICS:
ICS AOSP/CM9 (Alpha)
AOKP/CM9
All ROM's are fast and good, fits my requirement. But this battery off issue is there in all for me.
But battery indicator while charging in power off mode is always always showing battery level higher than 50%.
Help me out here. I need battery backup that can at least work for 1 full day.
Help me. Something is definitely wrong.
P.S. Also tried this with new battery. So no battery issue.

Thanks for the help. Not exactly what I am looking for. Everything isn't always simple as it looks to.
I am posting this after trying all possibilities in past 2-3 weeks.
Same happening with me also. Specially when I am taking pictures or videos.. taking into account the battery is quite old .. but calling time is still moderate.. but gallery/camera are consuming enormous charge,,
I've also had this issue for quite some time with different ROMs. Right now I'm using Kyrillos 9.6 OC for daily use and I don't have that battery indicator jumps anymore. Maybe you can try that ROM to check if it's a software or hardware problem.

Have you seen if this is a problem with other users? I'm using PAC ROM and have the same result with the screen being lit to a black screen when powered off and charging. I'm checking now to see if it overheats. It may be(and probably is) the screen on and charging at the same time that is causing it to heat up like that. My suggestion is to not charge while powered off if you can help it. A little warm is ok, but these quad-core phones can cook when that CPU is going.. I've felt mine to the point of needing to power it off with usage in the sun making it unbearably hot. And if it's getting HOT HOT.. than yeah.
3 things you can do.
1.Charge with phone powered on.
2.Go back to stock ROM where this was not an issue.
3.Work with the devs to try and figure out what is causing it. Be prepared to provide a logcat if the problem can't be reproduced on their end.
My phone has been charging off for about 10 minutes now and it still feels a little cool to the touch. Battery is 100% full. Not sure if that makes a difference. I'll keep in on charge for another 10. I'll update this post in a little bit.
**UPDATE** Its been on the charger for 30 minutes.. no heat increase. Note* I'm running PAC ROM AOSP ROM.
Batteries always get hot if you use them while they are charging. This is slightly harmful to the battery too, but if it only happens once or twice I wouldnt worry about it.
All AOSP roms on this device so far are afflicted by this problem. Just turn your phone on first and as soon as you see the boot logo you can plug it in. You'll get used to it.

I am waiting for the deadlocks to stop before I upgrade.
I'm rooted on VS995, currently using AOKP ROM. Seems that any ROM I use, I get a green screen of death every 2 days on average. Pressing down volume reboots the phone and we're all good for a few days.
Anyone else see this?
What is a good way to get meaningful logs or meaningful data? I never know when it's going to crash and sometimes does overnight which kills my alarm.

You know what is really odd is that I had the same problem with my rooted LG V10. I ended up setting it back to stock where it ran great (then I sold it). Rooting and LG are tough customers!
