Hi guys
i'm writing here to ask you only one thing: can anyone create a new xrecovery update.zip in order to autoinstall jit without using adb?
I've seen it in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=902974 and there is a similar one for x10 big
Hope you like my idea
Here we go..
To install:
You will need to extract the 2 files from the .rar archive and then rename the one you want to "update.zip" (Without the quotes) and copy to your SD Card. Then reboot yor phone and start xRecovery... choose "Install update.zip".
does this thing really work???
50 views and no one who has made a feedback?
thanks for your sharing but i'd like to know someone who had tried it

So does it works?
I posted it in the android development thread (with thanks to the author)
your feedback could be great even in that thread

I've answered you in the other post
could you post a E15a version?
Thanks!
Here you are the official thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=946231
for 2.1.1 and 2.0.1
I'm not sure about be ok on e15a (i've tried on e15i)
Feedback would be amazing
I've installed this script but Quadrant display a score of ~500.
It doesn't seem to be very efficient...
After that I've tried Racht ROMs and Quadrant score are two times better !
(My favorite is the 2.3.2 CM ROM)
My Score is between 490 - 507 ? Are u sure this is work ?
Sorry...my English is poor !
Any pro guide for Jit ?
From here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=877565
dalvik.vm.heapsize=32m
debug.sf.hw=1
From the Autoinstall (Xrecovery)
dalvik.vm.heapsize=30m
debug.sf.hw=1
1 is 32 m and 1 is 30m ? got different ?
Thanks , I installed JIT successfully , although I didn't notice any improvement
I have installed CUSTOM ROMs FLoyo and Gingerbread and now im back in eclair but apps in my ext2 dont work. I have to install it again or?
Hello,
I'm have a X8 E15i.
Firmware: 2.1_update1
Kernel: 2.6.29
Build: 2.0.1.A.0.47
I have installed Xrecovery. Then i have downloaded JIT and placed it as 'update.zip' in the root of my SD card...
When i boot into Xrecovery, i get the option menu. I choose 'install update.zip'
I see now the green logo, but nothing happens (even after 15minutes!)
When i press the buttons, i get the menu again.
When i choose 'reboot phone', i get the green logo again, and nothing happens (even for more than 15 minutes!)
I rebooted my phone by taking out the batterie...
What am i doing wrong?
Tx!
use HOME button as ENTER
tx for the hint!
I was pushing the wrong button...
Before: score 442
After: score 496
Any possibility to make it even higher?
grz.

Hey Guys,
Being a PC overclocker I felt like a fish out of water when it comes to overclocking a phone
I recently got a HTC Wildfire and found out how to root it and flashed my own ROM, Kenral etc. (with some difficulties)
So I downloaded SetCPU and started OC'ing. Being a PC overclocker I followed the logic of set speed and run stability test.
So I slowly started upping the max speed and then stress testing for 20 min odd. I just kept on upping the speed until I got to the limit of SetCPU (768Mhz). Where to from now?
I have not changed the minimum speed because I have read that it can make your phone rather unresponsive.
Is it possible to go above 768Mhz or will I damage the phone or have to up voltage?
I ran linpak and at 768Mhz I got just under 3 MFLOPS. Is that good or bad or what?
Thanks in advance guys
Mikrouwel
768 is the safe limit, you'll need to make a kernal that will allow the processor to go further, 3mflops is good on a sense ROM but on an AOSP ROM you will get over 5 easily. Why do you want to go over 768 anyway?
What is the difference between sense and AOSP ROM? If it is just the sense feture then I dont mind changing ROMS. (Dont use sensce)
Also what is Cyanogenmod 7 RC1? Is it the same os CM7? Seem alot of people talking but dont now what it is?
Thanks
Mikrouwel
AOSP -> Android Open Source Project. It is vanilla Android, without Sense. So Yes, your assessment is correct. It is just the Sense feature.
Cyanogenmod 7 = CM7. Just a short way of writing it.
Hi There
Is Cyanogenmod 7 a ROM?
Also is Android Open Source Project ROM too or a app?
Sorry kinda confussed
Also what is Clockworkmod Recovery? Does it have something to do with ROM Manager?
Thanks
Mikrouwel
1: Yes, CM7 is a ROM
2: AOSP Official Page: http://source.android.com/
3: Recovery Images are found whenever you boot into Recovery. Example: All that you see like Clear Cache, Install ZIP from SDC etc. are part of a recovery. ROM Manager is a standalone app and is not related to Recovery, although, it can help update the recovery since the developer of Clockworkmod Recovery and ROM Manager are the same.
Technical Definition of Recovery: (Sourced from Turkeys Ultimate Guide Glossary)
The recovery partition is a boot-mode for your phone that allows you to wipe your settings from the #data partition of the phone (a hard wipe), or perform an update using an update.zip file on the root of the microSD card. It is common (although not necessary) to flash a patched Recovery image, such as Amon RA's one. This allows you to run Nandroid backup from the device, and flash modifications, such as update.zip files to the device, essentially becoming a means to install sotware to the device. Recovery mode is separate from 'normal' mode, and can be entered by holding down home whilst turning the phone on.
Oh, you should probably go through Turkeys guide and glossary yourself. It should help a lot.Thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=824396
Glossary : http://bit.ly/9HtICk
Many thanks Guys,
ATM I am using this ROM with this kernal. Were can I download CM& and will the notiable differences be between the one im using and CM7?
Also what is New Nightly? (You have #13 next to yours?)
Thanks alot guys
Mikrouwel
CM7 can be found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=918072
Or, the latest, i.e. RC2 can be found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=957140
Nightlies are automated builds created by the Build bot. If you check the first link I posted, in that post's download link, you will find new nightlies everyday. Nightlies implement minor code changes, and, are experimental releases. They may add new features (eg: Nightly #11 implemented Android 2.3.3, #13 implemented FM Radio etc.), but may also add new bugs sometime.
As for differences, one cant say for sure, since ROM preference is a personal choice. Try it, if it suits you, use it, else, switch back.
Hi There,
I am going to try CM7.
IS the RC2 stable and if so is it more or less stable than RC1?
Also if I just go into recovery and flash will I have to flash nightlys or not?
If I am not mistaken it runs 2.3 and I thought that there were many features that didnt work on 2.3? (Gingerbread)
Also what kernal do you recommend I should use on CM7 that will let me got 768+?
Many many thanks guys for all the help
Oh yes and what app do I use if I want to keep all my apps and contacts and stuff like that? I used titanium backup last time and only got like half the stuff back?
Thanks Guys
Mikrouwel
* RC2 is stable for me. No issues so far, although camera sound bug is still there - If you take some pics using flash, phone loses all sound and you have to reboot.
* After RC2, it is upto you whether you want to flash nightlies or not. There is no compulsion.
* Can you list some features that dont work on 2.3? Personally, I cant find anything amiss over 2.1 / 2.2
* CM7 comes by default with an overclocked kernel, which will allow OC to 768. Overclocking beyond 768 is not possible since that is the safe limit for the Wildfire's CPU. Because it is overclocked by default, if you get a bootloop, flash HCDR.Kernel v4.1 after flashing CM7. This will restore stock clocks, but, still allowing OC using an app like SetCPU
* Apps can be backed up using Ti backup / Mybackup Pro etc. Contacts can be backed up by going to Contacts > Export > To SD Card. Then, after flashing, again going to Contacts > Import > From SD Card, and select the VCF File. SMS'es can be backed up by using the free SMS Backup App from the market.
i am on stock b528 and would like to overclock the cpu for greater performance. checked there is an o/c kernel from geno but posted long time ago and has low call volume issue. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1391494
would like to see if there is another kernel for stock B528. thanks in advanced...
edit
my phone is rooted by using B528_root method, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=23565074&postcount=7
root explorer and titanium backup work fine without any issue, thanks.
still looking forwards to see if any pro can o/c u8800 b528, thanks...
Overclock Kernel for U8800 B528 (default 1.2GHz)
Have continued to search from the web to see if it is possible to overclock U8800. And I have got a ROM from China website with an default overclocked kernel based on B528. The ROM is made by [birdyi] and I have got his permission on posting it to XDA. Anyone got the courage can give it a try. Here's the way I obtained from [birdyi] how to apply it on our U8800 B528...
1/ Download boot-sys1.img
2/ Root your U8800 B528 (Ref: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=23565074&postcount=7)
3/ Install Root Explorer
4/ Copy boot-sys1.img to /.cust_backup/image/
5/ Change boot-sys1.img's permission to 777
6/ Rename boot.img to boot.img.B528
7/ Rename boot-sys1.img to boot.img
8/ Restart your phone
PS. My power-on button is broken (I will re-enable to use volume rocker to wake my phone afterwards, beware!!!) and my phone is now in service center. So I have not tried this yet.
I take no responibility if it bricks your phone. Try it as your own risk!!
In case your phone cannot start, you might need to reflash B528 again.
So, suggest to add step 0/ before the above...
0/ Copy and retain B528 /dload directoty in your internal 2G storage
If 1.2GHz is too high for you and yields battery drain (in fact B528 has battery drain issue), try to install CPUControl to make it slower...
Of course you can use it to set an even faster speed...
Again, use as your own risk, and let me know your results!
Fallback is easy by renaming the boot.img back to boot-sys1.img, then
boot.img.B528 to boot.img, and then restart...
Honor-based custom ROMs boot.img compatible with official 2.3.5 Roms.
Probably the same kernel. 1.2 GHz
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1556558
cayar, original author did not say that to me so i am not sure about this.
anyway, here comes another one which is 1GHz default for testing.
Should this be moved to [General] section instead as it has been fixed/solved?
== edit ==
I have just tried the default 1.2G kernel file on my U8800, and it works!
Antutu mark is 3100 when CPU is running at 1200MHz
363 RAM
824 CPU integer
357 CPU floating point
221 2D
925 3D
290 Database I/O
024 SD write
096 SD read
Guess the result can be even better with a faster SD card, mine is 4G class 2 only.
Tho, it is already good enough for stock B528.

Thats Great to Hear , Enjoy the Arc !
Well, I have done it quite similar that you did.
I only didn't use doom kernel for partitioning sd card.
My class 10 8gb has second partition of 1gb ext3, that is enough for my use.
In lupus menu through TE I have CACHE 1024. Don't know what is your value... ?!?
Now I have installed around 40 apps. most of them i have greenefied.
I experience modest lag.
Before I had 3 times the same configuration and tested performance on around 80 apps. There was heavy lag. Even When I uninstalled most of apps.
I always format everything. I have 3 peaces of 8gb SD cards that have myself tested R/W speeds around 20/12 mb/s.
I formatted them 7/1 and 6/2 ... doesn't matter.
Now I experience lag, when using internet browser and someone calls me, or if I want to make call... when using numpad, there is lag. I also have to wait to respond to call.
So my arc s is not even close to speed monster.
After all that you have written, you didn+t mention nothing about tweaking cpu speed...
On my last flash and install I haven't tweaked cpu, cause I experienced heat on the back side of phone and no noticeable advance in speed.
Greg
Lupus Kernel allows OverClocking!!.... 1.6 Ghz with Intellidemand or Interactive will do for normal Use !!
Now I'm flashing again... this time with 32gb SD class 10 with max speeds of around 36mb/s-17mb/s, r-w. I formatedit 27,5gb fat32 / 2 gb ext3.
still don't know if 1024 should be max cache value for ext3... in lupus through terminal emulator...

I love UHD with Lupus 16, it very fast
Xperia T ICS with ktg kernel is very good.
Go try. Ty!

to install custom kernels you need to unlock your bootloader (can do it officially from sony)
http://developer.sonymobile.com/unlockbootloader/unlock-yourboot-loader/
after this its need to install kernale manually via cmd OR flashtool, there plenty of tutorials in ARC forum how to do this
good luck !

you can enter recovery (kernel menu) via:
reboot menu --> reboot device --> rboot to recovery (need be activated 1st in dev settings "show more reboot options")
or press CONTINUESLY volume down on very 1st boot screen (legacy xperia)
good luck!
Instead of flashing the Doom kernel to partition the SD card, or using Minitool, is it possible to partition it on a computer using gparted? Also, is the LUPUS kernal flashed using fastboot, or can it be flashed in CWM?
Hello, first of all I want to let you know that I do not know enough English to make yourself write posts in the forum, so I use an interpreter (by Google)
I am "happy" (irony) GT-S5360 holder. I have a preloaded firmware on it, PurePerfomances, two partitions on the SD card (one per application, because I'm using Link2SD) and, of course, root
The first problem with which struggling for a long time and have not found online mention of it, the problem with the graphics in games. In some games there are "graphic artifacts," ie, spoils graphics, intercede for example. Some squares. This problem only occurs in games (with applications using normally) and not all. Do you have any idea of what can be done?
The second problem is my phone to 1.2Ghz overclock by installing a kernel Merruka. So what's the problem? I do not know how to do it. I once tried to do the same, but ended up reinstalling the firmware. Of course I made a backup, but ive loaded kernel Merruka other CWM and backup were thread, because the system and the old kernel did not want to restore. Installations understand this:
- Make a backup in CWM
- Choose from SD card file "kernel + update.zip" and install it
- Choose from SD card file "EXT4-Converter-signed.zip" and install it
- Restore from backup data, system and cache (not restore the kernel)
- If you receive an error "E: error mount [...]" I have to reset the recovery. Missed something? Once when I installed Merruka wanted to push him forcefully by Odin, sure why not work, but I prefer to be sure of whizzes
Again, sorry for the wall of text with Google Translator and ask for quick help
Please mention the name of the ROM you are using. Also,Merruk can't restore backups (It's a bug I guess) and added to it Merruk doesn't really overclock your device to 1.2 GHZ.It's just a placebo effect, nothing else.
I used Stock ROM
Some idea of the graphics?
Sent from my Galaxy Y (GT-S5360), Firmware ^^
