Battery life test results - Huawei Ideos X5 U8800

My batteries arrived last week.
What did i bought?
Dxt 2050mAh HW-U8800 battery - From ebay $9.99 with shipping
Ecell 2430mAh Gold Battery - From amazon £11.95 with shipping
So my batteries are like that:
Stock battery (17 months old)
Dxt 2050mAh HW-U8800 battery
Ecell 2430mAh Gold Battery
(Product photos gonna be here soon)
I charged and emptied them atleast 3 times and tested them with Antutu.
Testing conditions:
dzo's Aurora ICS 4.0.4 Version 5 Update 16 @368-806 Mhz - ondemand - noop | Automatic brightness | Wifi on (but it crashes after 30 min?) | Data on | Sync on | BT and GPS are OFF | Got a few mails and whatsapp messages during tests | no calls no messages | My normal apps are working at the background.
Anyway, here are the results:
1) Stock one - Uptime > 1 Hour 37 Minutes > Antutu Battery Test Score: 289

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2) Ecell's 2430mAh (which isn't obviliously 2430!) - Uptime > 2 Hours 36 Minutes > Antutu Battery Test Score: 468
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3) Dmt 2050mAh - Uptime > 2 Hours 19 Minutes > Antutu Battery Test Score: 417
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bottomline our Aurora has a bad battery management, wifi is still crashing and drain battery and by all that it doesn't last long whatever your battery is.
P.S: I'm gonna test them with my default settings later which are: Wifi off - 368-1200 mHz
You can share your own test results too.

Interesting topic. I recently did some testing of my own because the stock battery was on it's return.
I bought a €3.24 (shipping included) chinese replacement battery with a listed capacity of 1800mAh (5.6Wh) as I had to send the stock battery in for warranty. I have since received a replacement Cameron Cino battery with a listed capacity of 1500mAh (5.5Wh) under warranty.
Testing conditions:
Stock Huawei Huawei Gingerbread ROM | Stock Speeds | Automatic brightness | Powersaving Mode on | Airplane Mode on | tested after fresh reboot
The results:
Stock battery (12 months old) > Antutu Battery Test Score: 327 | test duration 1h49m
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
€3,24 replacement battery (about 5 full charges) > Antutu Battery Test Score: 480 | test duration 2h40m
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cameron Cino (1st full charge) > Antutu Battery Test Score: 592 | test duration not recorded
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'll give the Cameron Cino battery another few full charges to see if the results improve. Would be interesting to find out what a fresh stock battery would do.

An update on the cameron Cino battery. After a couple good charges I got a score of 605 this morning, which is as good as it will very likely get. Antutu fc'ed on me after installing a screenshot app, so no detailed results with test duration. I'll upload a screenshot with just the score this evening.
With this battery the phone lasts me 2 full days exactly, compared to barely 12 hours with the one year old Huawei battery. That plenty for me.

Hey guys can you post the links for the batteries you have tried? I made a quick search on amazon and ebay but nothing found.. Btw my battery result with official battery

Yes, I am also interested in this sino battery please!

I get 4-5 days on my new original battery,.rarely use wifi, background sync is turned off. 2.2.2 stock froyo system with installed juice deffender set on balanced(default). The first battery that came with the phone lost its capacity very quick,i think because i work and leave the phone too much outside on very cold and very warm weather sometimes, now i have it for backup. I noticed one realy weird thing on my phone, battery lasts almost twice longer when i dont have sdcard in my phone. When i have sdcard in the phone i never get more than 2 days on the battery. Realy weird thing,so i use my phone without sdcard. Anyone else experienced same result? Is the problem only in my phone? Its not a big deal,i dont need much space so 2gb internal memory is enough for me,i dont play games. U all can try battery life with and without sdcard and see if battery lasts longer.

Oh boy, my score with a 14 months old standard Huawei battery is 243. So basically, a good battery like the Cameron Cino would more than double my battery life.

The Cameron Sino (I just noticed it's actually Sino with an 'S') battery was provided to me under warranty by replacedirect.nl. Not sure if they take foreign orders or if they are available from other sources, but this should get you started; The battery has the folowing part numbers:
Model No: CS-HU8220SL
Part No: HB4F1, BLT005

You can check Amazon, there are some resellers listed in Germany and one in UK.
Otherwise you can try and contact them directly: http://www.cameronsino.net
Though they only do B2B it seems.

thanks guy! with your information I do a googling and find a place to buy this battery in VN
I just buy this Cameron Sino battery in this site http://pindienthoai.net/ai2177
will post a result soon!:fingers-crossed:

But these Cameron batteries are lithium and the original ones are li-polymer....

My battery is completely depleted and I'm fully charging it at least twice a day.
Antutu Batery Test result = 216 lololol
Just ordered one of these Cameron Sinai batteries from this web site hopping they are good for a few more months.
http://www.bigupbattery.com/Huawei-HB4F1-U8220-Battery-p/bupb1695.htm
Final price less than €8 including shipping!
I will post feedback when I receive it.

I bought one too i'll test my results when it arrives. I doubt that is the same original from Cameron Sino just look at price lol.. but nevermind.

for the price who cares.
If not good goes straight to the garbage and buy another lolololol
But look here: http://www.bigupbattery.com/aboutus.asp
I trust its real and original Cameron Sino.
The original ones, new are selling for about the same price.....
BTW how much did you pay for yours, which is 100% original, and where did you by it from or from where was it shipped?
Let me guess, overpaid lololololol

I bought same of you same shop that one. They say they are dealer of Cameron Sino so i think it's official shop now what we need to know if that Sino batterys are really good as I've heard.

you bought the same battery and same shop as I?
Of course they are real Cameron Sino.
Dind't make any sense be more expensive than original ones and they look to be serious.
I have sent them an email questioning the brand and they claim to be Cameron Sino.
Well, for €8 we can't be to demanding, right?
Lets wait and see and then we comment ok?

eBay - 2x Batteries $13 shipped.

Found this deal while searching for a deal on batteries for the Fuze. Haven't bought them, usually skeptical about eBay items, especially from China. Figured I'd post a thread with it so if anyone would like to purchase at a low price. States that they're both 1340mAh. If they both work as expected it'd be a great price, but again still skeptical about buying from a Chinese eBayer.
Link to item:

eBay Seller name: otakugarden
I'm a sucker for a good deal, I took the bait. If/when I get them in I'll report back.
The only deal with that ebay seller for the same thing was for 18.88 total, which is still dirt cheap. So, I took the bait as well. Will report back if no one else does, or if I have a conflicting opinion.
it seems to me fake... i mean it's too cheap
I bought this back in early November, except then it was 2 batteries plus a standalone charger for about $20. They've all worked very well to date.
Blah I took the bait! Toooo cheap not too hmhmh
Kewlj1313
I bought one!
Hope they actually send me two working batteries and it's not some deceptive ad.
I saw this sellers offers on Ebay. I didn't pull the trigger as the last battery I purchased on ebay for my Tilt was a complete rip-off. As they say "if it's too good to be true, then it probably is".
Please let us know your experiences with this seller/batteries.
let me know how this goes, my battery already seems to lose juice quickly
I bit too, hopefully it's not bad.
I also bought the 2 batteries and charger for $20 like Lulugirl. All seem to work well. My only problem is that my Touch Pro doesn't recognise the battery level in the new batteries. So when I put in one of the new batteries, the battery meter on my device shows 0% battery. It still works though. I just use it until the phone turns itself off because of a low battery. Seems to last about as long as the stock OEM battery, but I'd of course prefer to have a warning as to how much battery life I have left.
Lolugirl (or anyone else), have you had this problem? If so, were you able to fix it?
All in all though, they were cheap enough that I am still happy with my purchase, especially since my usage drains the battery in less than a day.

That's proof that these batteries are fake.
I got the batteries after 2 weeks finally! They both have the same serial number and part number. But the serial and part numbers are different from the factory battery.
I noticed sticker on the battery is less clear than the factory battery I originally had. I will try it out later on my Fuze when I have the time.
I bought the same battery package as lulugirl896 (two generic batteries + standalone charger). They work fine, no problems whatsoever. The reason these batteries are cheap is because they are not OEM (HTC) batteries, but generic no-brand batteries. Since the labels are just copied, the serial numbers on all of these batteries are identical (13XA188P003454).
They are working fine in the original UK Touch Pro and Fuze (pretty much the same capacity as the OEM battery). However people who have CDMA Raphaels (Sprint/Verizon) have been having problems like juttonn described (always shows 0%, or "Battery not recognized").
The battery power seems jumpy. It was at 97% before I shut the power off for the night, then when I turned it on in the morning it was down to around 60%? I ran it for 8 hours on airline mode (the screen was on though), now it's down to 34%. I'll try it for another few days and report back.

Same here! just got mine yesterday, definitely a fake less clear label with the same serial number hmhm! Haven't tried mine yet either, maybe tonight hopefully they don't kersplode or anything!

Initial tests seem good!
When I first put this battery in straight out of the package it showed up in TBattery as FULL(mAh): 900, but after letting it charge once and then run all the way down and now as you can see from this screen shot it has charged back up again, it is showing the full 1340 mAh so thats good!
This battery lasted all day yesterday in my phone! I am very satisfied, but as stated above it is obviously a fake, the HTC label is a bit blurry and the serial is the same on both batts, but oh well! seems to work well!

Glad to know! But the percentage I see is wrong most of the time. So I just switch batteries every day. My charger has a light to determine if the battery is fully charged or not.
Can anyone confirm that Tbattery fixes the problem with the fake battery? I am am a bit afraid of trying it out since I haven't even hard-spl my device yet and I know it's not an ordinary program.
mine arrived last week and have used both through 3 power cycles and they appear to do drain much quicker than my oem battery. Where do you get TBattery to test? Google doesn't seem to come up with anything.
nevermind: found it. mine says 1340mAh but these batteries definitely drain faster than the OEM. Hopefully after a few more powercycles they will begin to last a little longer. If not, they were still worth the ridiculously low price.

I noticed after the 2nd and 3rd cycle the battery indicator is more accurate now and not jumping around. I also noticed the same, where they do drain faster than the stock OEM battery.

[Q] extended battery

Hi
i've just received an extended battery (cheap non htc) from ebay for my HD2. But since I placed my order I've heard that some nand roms don't work correctly with this type of battery.
Anybody know what type of problem I might run into with an extended battery, which roms definately don't work with an extended battery and if there are any fixes for the roms that don't work with one?
The only non-working batteries with Android are the HTC original 2300 ones.
Every other battery works fine with NAND.
And I got one of those expensive HTC things....

Confirming this is true for the OP as I do use the 2400mA from Ebay (got it for $13) on NAND, also used it with all SD builds, Non-EB and EB based.

Really? Wow, so you dont notice any issues with overheating when charging or not being able to charge to 100% in the phone?
What sort of battery life do you get? Should be like 35-40hrs right?
I have an ebay 2600mah that I got for $13 which seems awesome but I've only run it in the phone for a short period so far. It even has the back cover with a kickstand. I had to wait a month for it to get here from Singapore and it just got here yesterday.
I've switched to NAND ROMs now but at one point I had an SD build that I was getting 20+hrs battery life out of. I havent really had he chance to fully evaluate the battery life with my NAND builds but so far it looks to be not as good....
I just bought one..ships from Hong Kong..prolly have to wait ~ 3 wks for it arrive.
ive been looking into buying an extended battery recently.
im running android 2.2 nand.
so i wont have any problems with any extended battery?
2400mah? 2600mah?
The word out there is that aftermarket extended batteries - like the 2400mAh work well with NAND. I forked out $10.00 USD, what the hey..they've all gotten decent reviews, and work with NAND.

60% better than the stock is what I get, depending on how I use it, I CAN go 2 days easily.
I don't have any heat issues, it gets warm but nothing that seems different than with the stock.
I got the same as you, just 2400mA, comes with the cover and the kickstand, the cover is cheap plastic and pops off easy, it's not a durable and nice as the stock back and the kickstand broke after like 3 uses but oh well, a $13 battery with 60%+ battery life is fine with me.
Keep in mind, when you get your EB, it WILL drain from 100% to 0% and turn off (same as the stock battery) however, when it dies you just take the battery out and put it back in then reboot and it'll have ~60-65% remaining.
In my opinion, NAND and SD have the same battery life, NAND ahead a little bit because it doesn't spike as frequently.

Well worth the money =P
--- All of this is based off of hands-on experience, I use the 2400mA Ebay Battery with the cover and kickstand and have been since Late September.
Yeah I bought the cheap one with the kickstand, only took 11 days to reach the UK from hong kong.
No issues so far other than it seemed to drain really quickly from 100% to 79% in about 2 hours with no usage, its been okay from 79% though, dunno if it needed a long 1st charge.
I got the same issues with the HTC extended battery.
Charging / usage is reported wring by NAND kernels, worked OK tho with Hastarin's kernel. On MDJ's kernel it will even shut down at boot-up.
With SD builds when I plug in the phone it shows up as charging extremely fast then after unplugging charge falls also extremely fast to about 70-60% and then drains normally.
Offering as tester if anyone has any idea or beta NAND kernel that might fix this.
By the way in WinMo it charges perfectly and drainage is excellent/normal as advertised, so it's not a battery issue but a kernel support issue.

Hey, thanks very much for your reply. It is much appreciated.
I'm using the EB now. The back door for it seems lightweight but I cut a hole in the back of a protective case I have for my phone and the whole thing now feels pretty solid.

Just wanted to report back. I have the $13 Singapore 2600 mah battery and it works with MDJ Cyanogenmod 7 v2.6.
I dont even have to remove and replace the battery for it to work. It's not perfect though, it basically runs down normally (slightly faster than I would like) and lasts a full day getting down to a 15% charge. Then it stays at 15% for another entire day and then discharges normally from there.
With all the progress that has been made on Android for HD2, I feel optimistic that the last several minor bugs will eventually be worked out and the device should function flawlessly.

Yeah I get exactly the same with the cheap EB, dont need to remove the battery but it runs down fairly quickly to 15% then stays at 15% for ages. I have tried a variety of roms both nand & CWM, they all give similar results. Obiously the battery isn't running down very quickly at all, rather it's the way its level is being reported by the OS.

[Galaxy K Zoom] Extended Battery

Hello Folks!!!!
I have ordered this item....i'm waiting for its arrival!!!!!!
http://www.aliexpress.com/snapshot/6195359693.html
in the meanwhile, i found this second battery:
http://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Lowest-Price-of-Samsung-Galaxy-K_1976591285.html
and finally, the king of battery manufacturers:
http://mugen.co/mugen-power-4400mah...-samsung-galaxy-k-zoom-with-battery-door.html
when available, i'll order the mugen battery!
I've tested the "2850mAh High Capacity Battery" in the first link.
my suggestion is: DO NOT buy this battery.
this battery will charge faster than the original one but will drain very fast...faster than original!
in about six hours i used 30-40% of the extended battery power....whereas i spent about 20% using original battery.
the quality did not satisfy me.
now i'm testing mugen 4400 battery...results in a few days!
cheers!

Thanks for your advice. Very interested in the results of the experiment... the original one last for little few hours.
Some questions:
In Mugen page i cant see the weight of the 4000mAh battery. How much does it weights?
With the "new" cover, it seems that tje flash is a bit "covered". Does it flash correctly?
Thanks again!

followed by a small comparison between original and extended battery
and original and extended case!
The smartphone, with this extended battery, becomes almost flat but there is a small security space (there are two studs) that separe the table from the camera, when you put your phone horizontally! the glass of the camera will not touch the table surface.
studs
security space
shortly i'll post the weight of the product!
i can confirm it can flash correctly!
as a last step (and detached post), i will show some photos of the 2850mah Aliexpress battery i bought....currently i'm disappointed with this.

Hi!
i can add some words about 4400 Mugen battery life.
i'll add some screenshot of my KZoom. i made two kind of test: medium use (so a type of normal-medium stress) and heavy use (hard stress for smartphone).
MEDIUM USE
in the medium test i use my telephone like this:
in backgroung Whatsapp, Telegram, Viber, Skype, Cerberus
gps always active
wifi always active
data always active
2 or 3 photos
a few minutes of internet browsing
a few minutes of calls (audio calls, not video calls)
a few minutes of Google Maps
HEAVY USE
in the heavy test i use my telephone like this:
in backgroung Whatsapp, Telegram, Viber, Skype, Cerberus
gps always active
wifi always active

Hi, Livio, Thanks for ur review,
Is the MUGEN COVER RUGGED/STRONG?
Which case do u use with MUGEN battery.
Does auto pop case fit?
Did u try to fit it with no back cover?

Hi!
i tested these covers!
i bought them when i was on "stock" battery. None of them will fit the Mugen battery, even if strong forced.
No way, even with no Mugen cover!
i can add that according to my opinion, using a case with this battery will make the smartphone too much wide and large.
Thanks

I've tested the "2850mAh High Capacity Battery" in the first link.
my suggestion is: DO NOT buy this battery.
this battery will charge faster than the original one but will drain very fast...faster than original!
in about six hours i used 30-40% of the extended battery power....whereas i spent about 20% using original battery.
the quality did not satisfy me.
now i'm testing mugen 4400 battery...results in a few days!
cheers!

The mugen is interesting, its weight will probably mean as heavy as with autopop but was it not possible to find an original spare battery to use ?
or do you find battery life of original just too short to live with.

I can only share the same experience - these batteries does NOT perform up to specified mAh !! at best it is slightly under the stoch batt !!

NFC does not work with 2850mAh batteries !?!?? I don't know why ??

Livio, fantastico review.
I have the official Samsung spare battery and portable charger.
I got almost the same capacity, but I still must carry them on a pocket, bag, etc.
The Mugen is a good option to increase the battery capacity in a single package.

Greetings and thank you for your very detailed unboxing and review on your Zenfone 2 unit, it's great to have you here! I've purchased and have (indirectly) received my 1.8GHz/2GB RAM/32GB ZE551ML model today and so far it's working well.
I don't physically have it yet as my brother in Florida collected and is sending it to me when possible. However, from the feedback of other Zf2 owners I know it's an exceptional device and is definitely worth purchasing any model.
There has been only one major issue with the 4GB ZE551ML variant, as reported by respective owners, and that's the short battery life due to high consumption. Have you and other Taiwanese people experienced this as well, and is Asus aware of this and other bugs?
I suspect that it's actually the Android 5.0 software since we know there's a memory leak that has been addressed in later versions. Regardless, many international owners are disappointed with this and personally I don't blame Asus as the device itself is fantastic. Thanks for anything you can share on this.

I live in Dallas and own the 4g 32gb from Taiwan on At&t. Had it for a week now and battery consumption depends on how you use it and what network are you on mostly. If the phone keeps looking for Lte signal it'll drain your batt. If it keeps looking for WiFi signal even if WiFi is off it'll drain. Auto light it'll drain. 5.0 with me leak it'll drain. And constant fetching notifications it'll drain. I really can't complain with it being quad core and 4gb of ram on at all times its to be expected. Here is my batt consumption for today. This is calls, text, forums, Internet, Bluetooth, Pandora, and Spotify.

You should be getting more than 3 hours of screen on time though. I do see that you have pretty terrible signal, but still. Android OS shouldn't be using the most battery, but unfortunately it does. Battery and screen brightness in sunlight are the reasons I got rid of it.
Nice post, lots of info.

The signal is because it's always looking for Lte. I'm inside most of the time so it doesn't really affect me.

Is it easy to change the battery? Do you just have to remove the simcard/microsd panel and then disconnect the battery? or it's more complicated?

Replacing the battery on the Axon 7

Anyone know where i can get the battery replaced on the Axon 7 in the UK? My battery drains too quickly and does not last a day. Ive looked at the videos on Youtube and it looks tricky to replace the battery. I love my Axon 7 especially the front facing speakers.
I replaced mine a few days ago. It's one of the easiest battery replacements I've ever done. It's very easy. Just make sure you have the proper tools

If you look up in Amazon as I can not post the link:
"Cameron Sino 3100mAh Li-Polymer Replacement Battery for ZTE Axon 7"
Just be careful when disconnecting the ribbons and carefully removing the battery from the screen as mine took a lot of finesse and some heat to pry it loose. I now have a great battery but now have no home and back button after attempting to repair many times. Luckily there is an app you can use to at least make my phone usable again.

how did you break those? The ribbon for the buttons is on the other side of the frame... are you sure your screen ribbon is well connected?
Have you tried pushing on the screen roughly where the volume buttons are located, to see if it gets reseated? It's weird that the screen works but it might be just that

I took the phone apart 4 times ensuring the ribbons were well connected hoping that may have been the culprit. Also took the battery out each time, applied pressure all around the screen which makes me think I might have shorted out something. Strange though the right button still works, just the home and back button not functioning.
And this, folks, is exactly why you shouldn't be dissasembling phones unless you're very skilled with with electronics repair. You forget to connect a cable or w/e, then post here with complaints. I'm not physically well coordinated, my hands lack the fine motor skills and dexterity to work with small parts. If I have electronics hardware I need worked on, I take them to a friend's shop and he does the work for a small fee. I get everything back knowing the job is done right.
Hi Karl,
I have pretty basic electronic skills, and I found the battery replacement pretty easy.
There are plenty of guides on youtube, and as long as you have a decent toolkit--spudger, flat metal pry tool, correct sized bits--it should be an easy thing to do.
One step to watch out for is at the beginning; you need a hair dryer/heat gun to loosen the plastic bezels at the top/bottom of the front face. Be careful applying too much heat. My top bezel has a small bend divot from where it got too soft and bent when I removed it.
Just go slow and take your time; I think my take apart and reassembly was just over 30 minutes.
Good luck!
Are you sure that the battery is really the reason?
When I switched to the last LOS 15.1 ROM a few month ago, I noticed a rapid decrease of battery time.
And also the latest version of the imgur-app drains the battery extremely - if active, the battery only lasts for about 4 hours.
(I constantly force-quit it to get over half a day)

that's the kernel, it's probably not too optimized - but it's not necessarily the only reason! If you set up a decent ROM with a good kernel like one of Kran's EAS kernels and still get bad battery life, then you can bet it's the battery (you still don't need to - run Accubattery, let it log for about 3 days, then check the capacity estimate).
I honestly don't know or care about the persist stuff because I've gone through roughly the same ROMs than these guys here and have no such trouble. But I won't deny it
Btw if you get a fast discharge of a couple % after disconnecting the phone or your phone shuts down unexpectedly at 10/20/30%, those are telltale signs of battery degradation.
Introducing too many variables can confuse the issue.
I've been on the same rom since 9/2017 - RR 14.x based. I used to go 2 days between charges, now it's 1 day. Usage hasn't change all that much. I have a battery on order. I'd also like to update to 15.1. Goal is not to do any upgrading until at least a week or two after installing the new battery. Otherwise, existing SoT and battery usage numbers will have little value.
Of course, it's a good idea to perform a backup (twrp/titaniuam) for anyone replacing the battery just in case something goes wrong along the way and your phone turns into a brick.

You think there's much difference between an oem and third party battery? I'm only two charges in on the cameron sino, but still showing about 2700 mAh with accubattery. Tempted to get one of those usb amp meters to see what it's really taking in.
So far 3 full charges (1-2% to 100%). Accubattery still showing ~2650-2700 mAh capacity.
Actual use seems to be restored. Note the pic below.

point is, there is pretty much no way to know whether the battery you are buying is original or not. many bought the original looking ones and they have the font slightly off, knockoff-like... Which doesn't matter anyways because they perform just as good (or bad?) as a new OEM battery.

Past use wasn't quite the same. I'd typically recharge around 40% (to 100%). Getting to 40% would take less than a day. So there's definitely more life to it. Going 2 days between charges would be satisfactory.
I'll give it another full cycle to see how it's doing. Not sure another battery would make a significant difference. Seller might offer an exchange but is it really worth the hassle.........

you don't get it entirely. If that battery really has 2700 mAh, its capacity is about to fall off a cliff, and your phone will start having early shutdowns whenever you give it any load. that's pretty much how it works with lithium, it is advised to change the battery when it is at 80% capacity since it'll start behaving like crap in no time
Our batteries probably have a newer/better chemistry than those on the picture (they are charged at 4.4V), but the concept is the same.

Accubattery indicated ~2000/2100 mAh for the old battery. In terms of actual use I'd be at ~30% by the end of the day with my typical use. Phone never shut down/rebooted. I don't play games or run cpu benchmarks. Probably the most intensive activity would be creating twrp backups with compression, titaniumbackups, playing youtube (hd), or running speed tests (symmetrical gigabit network). We'll see how the phone works after a month. This was an ebay/paypal transaction so there's 180 days to make any sort of claim on it. It's a $16 battery - If I'm able to go two days between charges like I used to, I'll be a happy camper regardless what the app says. I do have one of those KEWEISI amp meters on order so it'll be interesting how that compares to the app.

that's weird. if anything i can tell you i had lots of shutdowns when my battery was at 2500 mAh, and people around here are using batteries around the same capacity with the same problems.
But it's possible that you just don't abuse it that much, I'm talking about 100% CPU usage, for example taking an HDR+ enhanced pic with GCam (CPU pegged, 10+ pictures snapped in a second). there was no way to do that with less than 30% battery, it shut down immediately.
still, i guess you saw the graph. Please tell me how it goes with the charge counter, it might just be that Accubattery is off by ~400 mAh and that's why you didn't get nearly as much trouble with the older battery.
