Hello Everybody, I've seen lots of Amazing ROMs, I like them all, Its just that I dont like the ICS Dialer.
So, I need Stock DialerTabActivity,apk in a Flashable zip
I tried pushing Apk into the system, but I messed it up, and Dialer app never showed in Launcher, neither it showed it installed. I had changed Permissions and restarted, but nothing worked. Please Help me!!
P.S. - I am on DDLF2 Baseband.

I managed to root and theme my Droid but for some reason I decided to take a Nandroid backup after the theme rather than before. I originally didn't deodex my phone so I had black text on black everywhere since my theme was unable to change those files.
I attempted to use xUltimate to deodex my phone but had some issues with it. When I ran it with the log displayed along with the deodexing it kept saying that the connection was refused so nothing was actually being modified on my phone.
Does anyone have any suggestions to fix that deodex problem?
Alternatively if anyone could point me to a stock Froyo theme that I could just flash to I'll stick with the white notification bar but alas I can't find one anywhere!
Goal is to try and do this without reflashing/losing data. To that end I also tried restoring individual folders from my Nandroid backup in an attempt to restore all files except those modified by the theme but and then restore the theme from another phone running stock Froyo but that didn't work so well.
I'm working with a Moto Droid 1. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hope someone can shed some insight into this issue.
So I've been running the KitKat dialer with CM11 for some time now. Something in yesterdays nightly borked my setup giving rapidfire dialer FCs, tried going back to the previous nightly and the FC's remained. Not sure I've done a full wipe since I bought the N4 and installed CM, so figured this is a sign. Wiped, factory reset in CWM and reinstalled the latest nightly... and there's no dialer installed. TelephonyProvider.apk is in /system/app and TeleService.apk is in /system/priv-app/ as you would expect, but not dialer.apk.
So I moved dialer.apk to /system/priv-app/ and set permissions to rw-r-r and all is well, except when I update via MC updater or CWM, dialer.apk is missing again. Is this normal behavior for system apps? What would the KitKat dialer have done to make the CM updater ignore the install of that particular apk? Any advice as to how to make it stick?
I didn't go through all that, but I did find it strange when I went to call someone and couldn't find the dialer. however if I click a phone number in email or on a website, the dialer pops up???

Im not new to xda forums, but I'm new as a user, so I am really sorry if I'm writing in the wrong section.
I live in Hungary and I have a GT-I9505 unlocked by default device.
Yesterday i went ahead and rooted my phone using Towelroot to keep KNOX untrigered. Oh btw i was running android ver. 4.4.2.
I rooted my phone without any problems, and KNOX was still 0x0, installed busybox and xposed framework.
I installed GS5 launcher and apps, and to get MyMagazine working i had to replace some files in /system/framework named
twframework-res.apk
and
twframework.jar
I did those without any problems. I wanted to restore my S4 to its original look, so i started putting back the original files, both in system/framework and in system/priv-app
While i was deleting thos two framework files, I accidentaly pressed the home button, so the changes took affect, and i got a lot of FC windows, making me unable to use my phone to get back those files.
I have a backup of those files, on my SD card, i just cant put them back because of those force close windows.
I tried wiping cache and data in recovery mode (stock, no CWM or such) but that didn't help either, and now i have the galaxy setup process+the FC windows.
Is there anyway to make my phone working correctly again?
Really sorry for the long text and any mistakes, it's 2am here and I'm really tired and I'm just trying to get my phone back to normal.
I ended up reflashing an official samsung firmware with Odin, and now my problem's gone.

I have an SM-N900.
Recently I changed a few stuff in the UI including the Settings menu. I was using the Settings menu from S5 by replacing the apk. Today I thought of reverting this. This is what I did :
1) Changed the existing apk to SecSettings.apk_S5 (as a backup)
2) And i changed the backup I had (SecSettings.apk.bak) to SecSettings.apk
Now, I assumed the permissions and all would be fine as it was being used earlier. I don't know if its the permissions that is causing the problem, but, after I rebooted the phone after making the above changes, my phone won't boot up. It is stuck at the Samsung logo...
What do i do ? Is there some way of flashing the settings apk (if i find the correct one) as a zip file from CWM ? or should i just flash a stock firmware ?
UPDATE :
I used Aroma file browser to revert these changes (that is go back to s5 settings) and the phone came up finally !!! Now the questions is, how do i go back to my stock settings ?
Hey Everyone, I just flashed the Extreme Syndicate L v5 (DEODEXED/THEME STARTED) rom last night on my verizon galaxy S5 and everything was working well until I made a mistake. I noticed that there were two battery icons so I force uninstalled 3minit... I did not know that this was also the ui. So now when the rom loads it keeps popping an error saying "Unfortunatley, System UI has stopped". I had safestrap installed before the flash and did a backup but now I only have access to Recovery and Download mode.
My question is, would it be safe to flash extreme syndicate using odin? Is there another way to just push the ui apk using android studio/cli? I've done a bunch of searching already but since I'm new to Android SDK I don't really know what I'm looking for and need some direction. I'm guessing I can't do a restore from my backed up files because safestrap was removed.
Any help or direction would be would be appreciated.

I was able to access safestrap again after Reverting back to NK2 Kernal this issue is resolved.
