Installed Android 4.0.3 on Htc Hd2, I need to update that rom, I followed the steps to install a stable rom. Rom was successfully installed and when I go to reboot It runs the old 4.0.3 Android software and not the new software. Any help would be appreciated, and any needed information can be given.

'any needed information can be given' - just give as much as you can think of, you're just slowing things down by saying that you can give info but not actually giving it.

HI there,
I am having problem in upgrading ROM in Acer Liquid.I have downloaded everything from Acer's website but after connecting with the USB;I am having messege that this ROM is "OS file type is Not match, Now stop the whole process." I am toonew for upgrading the ROM in Android device. It has currently installed which is I think HongKong ROM.It is as under,
Firmware Version 1.6
Basebnd version A1-01.01.04
Kernel version 2.6.29
Build number Acer_Liquid_1.001.05_AAP_CSL
Please anyone help regarding this problem.I want to get rid of my old ROM.Thanks in advance.
I put LCR on my phone, it is a very clean custom ROM with clear instructions here- https://code.google.com/p/acer-liqu...cker/wiki/HowToRootAndFlashLiquidCommunityROM . You could either flash the bin and be done or go ahead and install LCR (which I would recommend, it is very good).
ALSO make sure you read this as well (warning of something tht could potentially happen)- http://android.modaco.com/content/a...will-have-a-bricked-liquid-mod-please-sticky/
There is even a video here- http://theunlockr.com/2010/03/16/how-to-root-the-acer-liquid/ but get all the links from the LCR page as these could be outdated.
Use the older version of Acer tool v3.1 (from another thread here) to be able to get past the ROM not matching your device error. The Acer tool from their website has been upgraded and doesn't allow mixing regions anymore. Also you can upgrade to the Eclair 2.1 ROM (LiquidE_1.100.05_EMEA) now. It's pretty stable. Just do a search for it here or at liquid.modaco.com.
I'm really new to all this and so I apologize for a redundant question. If you can lead to to the correct thread or just answer the question that would be wonderful. I installed android on my sisters HD2, not sure which version it's just there. I know it's NAND but to be more specific I don't know which OS. She wants me to put 2.2 Froyo or 2.3 Gingerbread on there and I'm wondering how to do that. The guides I'm reading on here say to go to magldr and then open the ROM on my pc and click the DAF and install it. I thought I installed the right ROM but that file does not exist. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you
I expect that your best bet would be to check the Droid nand threads and see if you can recognise the one you used

Go to Settings > About Phone to find all the details you need - the Android version, the ROM version et all. And then decide if you want to load a new NAND ROM or not.
you should install cwm, too. it's one step more but it's worth it and you will have a lot more choice when chosing a rom.
i don't know a up to date rom that is available as a daf flashable version.
full guides on how to install it are in the rom thread most of the time.
Install cwm and then try this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=769026, its one of the fastest rom i have i used so far, one thing tho it doesnt have sense but im sure your youll still like it.
I have just purchased a HD2 aswell and would like to install android gingerbread... i have read through the how-to threads on here 'http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905060' a million times and being the worlds most useless person with a mobile i just dont have the courage to do it as i dont understand none of the terminology etc... could somebody please point me in the direction of a full step-by-step guide for dummies lol
i am currently running on:
flash size: 512mb
OS version: 5.2.21864 (21864.5.0.81)
ROM version: 1.43.405.1 (70124) WWE
ROM date: 10/26/09
Radio version: 2.04.50.22_2
(i believe these are the ones most mentioned in the threads... but mean nothing to me )
i could literally do with the lamens guide with pictures the lot.. BUT any help for a so called 'newb' would be very much appreciated.
thanks in advance
PLEASE HELP .... i have installed maglrd, clockworkmod recovery 1.2.7 etc... then realised i hadnt installed the android itself so i went into the USB mass storage and installed gingerbread from ''NexusHD2-Gingerbread_V3.2a_NAND_(Android-2.3.7).zip'' but there are only 3 files (BOOT, META-INF, SYSTEM) but i cant find anything to run? .... the phone is currently idling in maglrd and im getting rather worried about breaking it... PLEASE HELP
Don't open that zip file. Put the whole zip on your SD, start magldr, choose ad recovery, that will start cwm, in cwm choose install zip from SD - choose zip, that's it.
Someone could help me. It will be my first time to update the ROM to a version NAND. I usually use the SD versions without problems. I downloaded this rom but I was not happy to upgrade. Anyone know any tutorial to install this rom?
Hi guys, I'm pretty much a newbie to this all and was wondering if anyone could help me get my HD2 back to its original settings of being on WM6.5.
I recently upgraded it to 2.2 by NAND ( no idea what that means) but I was successful on getting it up and running on android.
Im now trying to be more adventurous and see if I can boot the rom to 4.4 but just for safe measures, I'd like to know how I can get the system back. Also if anyone can post the links of what Id need to download to get it to 4.4 and how I need to do that from 2.2 would be great. I don't know if I could just upload another android version on top of the 2.2 or if I would have to remove that first.
Thank you in advance

In future search before posting. To flash a higher version of Android (although 4.4 doesn't exist yet and probably never will) check out the guide in my sig. To flash a stock ROM just download one from the HTC website and flash the RUU in the bootloader.
I tried looking for previous posts that would hep, but this stuff is completely going over my head and I am still determined to get my HTC on an upgraded android version. What android version would you recommend? anything more up-to-date than 2.2 would be great (with everything working, I have read posts where some people have had problems with the camera not working)
I have had a look on the HTC website and they no longer support HD2 :-/ How can I restore it? *confused* I'm a complete newbie and a noob, yup both, but I will not be giving up
Further guidance would be great.
I think a JB ROM would be good if you want functionality and the latest version. If you want stability then 2.3 is probably best. The only real solution is to try a few ROMs out and see what you like best.
With the help from the guide and material for noobies on the forum I am able to flash Nand android 2.2.1 baseband version 2.6.32.15
build gauner 1986hdf1 on my HTC hd2 T8585 earlier with win6.5 . the android version is working fine with the mobile.so far and thanks to the forum for making an oldie able to do which every vendor said that it cannot be done despite my paying money to them.
However I wish to seek some clarifications..
1. Whether I can now flash jelly bean 4.2.2 or flash any other rom suitable for updating the 2.2.1 or compatible with it and where I can find links to proceed further.?
Is there a need for further updating or should I continue with the existing rom.?
2. despite running setup 3.3.63.exe downloaded from HTC to sync with my Pc , the mobile does not sync.
I mean that the HTC sync says "no device detected" when the phone is in fact connected via original cable ! However I can mount the card and copy pictures from the computer . How to sync with HTC sync?.
whether Rom manager will work with my installed version.2.2.1
.
If I have posted in wrong place please advise. rectify.
thanks
