Hi guys, i have a Defy+ with blackscreen after flashing a stock rom.
I use the RSD lite 5.7 to flash.
Original rom:
Claro Brazil DFL_U3_4.5.2_5150_SIGNED_USADEFYB15CLABRLA007.0R_STABLE45LADEFYCLABR_P016_A028_M001_HWp3_WIG148120_Service1FF.sbf.gz
192.1
and flashed to this rom:
Retail Central Europe DEFYPLUS_U3_4.5.1-134_DFP-125_GR_SIGN_SIGNED_UCADEFYEMARAB1B80AA004.0R_PDS03C_USAJRDNGIBRRTCEE_P019_A020_HWp3_WIG148090_Service1FF.sbf.gz
but i want to return to original rom and after flash again to Claro Brazil rom, my defy+ got blackscreen with white led.
The RSD lite recognizes the cel plugged in a usb port but even flashing other sbf file the cel not fix.
I recharge the battery with a macgyver method.
Plz guys, help me.
4.5.2-51-50 --> BL6 - CG31/39.smg version is 6 .Strange, DFP-125 - is also CG31/39 - 6. You have Defy+, so try flash DFP-231 - no downgrade to DFP-125 or other roms with CG31/39 - 6 or lower. Read this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=966537

The battery doesn't reacting in charger.
The battery indicator ever is 100%
Maybe dead battery, try change battery. Or try clean battery and board contacts with cotton with spirit. If doens't help - the only one logic issue - dead board.
Thanks Guys!!!!
I Fix my defy+
Thank you for everyone.
I'll post what I did to be able to help other people's forum

Hey guys,
I'm currently using a Defy+ and had the model number mb 526 (Defy+).
Build number 4.5.1-134 DFP 74 was installed before without any roms.
Yesterday I updated to 4.5.2-109_DHT-22 (Android 2.3.4 to 2.3.6) which can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1413214.
Everything is running perfectly I just realized that the model number changed from mb 526 to mb 525 which is the model number of the normal Defy.
I would like to know if there is a fix for it or if i have done anything wrong.
As you can probably tell I'm new to this forum.
Thanks in advance (btw. how to thank in this forum?)
Hi,
Coz your phone is a MB526 you need to flash the full SBF with RSDlite. Not the nandroid with CWM...
Oh I see...
Can i still flash the full SBF or will it cause any unwanted side-effects?
I just flashed the fixed SBF
I flashed mine with the 4.5.1-134-DFP-132 retail. FR Sbf and it works really great. Just WARNING you can't downgrade (go back) to 2.3.4 after that!...

I had the wrong url in my post. I flashed only the fixed sbf and have the 4.5.2-109_DHT-22. I'm pretty sure that I'll not be able to flash your 4.5.1-134-DFP-132, but thanks for your help
// Solved the problem by using my nandroid backup to recover
look for the build.prop CWM flashable zip that matches the version u installed
I have also updated (sbf using RSD Lite). Everything is fine here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=966537
I'm currently running 2.3.6 but with a model number showing MB526.
What I want is 2.3.6 SPF's showing model number MB525. Are there any out there ?
I'm running Build 4.5.1-134_DFP_231 which I'm happy with but it's not perfect.
I'd prefer to flash than use SGS Tool app to change the model number.
Any ideas ?

You can change it by editing /system/build.prop. There are no motorola Gingerbread rom for MB525
THERE IS NO GINGERBREAD FOR DEFY ... GINGERBREAD IS FOR DEFY+ ONLY ...
So if you are really on 4.5.1-134_DFP_231 then you have a big problem ...
there is no way to rout or even downgrade this rom ... and defy+ has another battery then standard defy ... so if you are using your standard battery and are running an 2.3.6, this could damage your battery ...
Thanks for the help. I used ES file explorer to edit the file and changed the model number back to MB525 .. worked like a charm.. anybody needing help editing build.prop should check the following link i found -> do a search on -> How-to-edit-build-prop-to-fix-market-amp-enable-4g-if-it-is-in-your-area on another forum
I have no intentions of downgrading from 2.3.6.. My phone is working great.
Hello all!, how do I find out my bootloader version I have green lens defy and when I go onto bootloader it says 09.10? is there anyway to be certain what bootloader version I have?
Thanks
If you are on a green lense and haven't flashed a Defy+ stock ROM, you are either on CGXX version 3 if you are on Eclair (not very likely) or on CG version (the so called BL version) 4 if you are on Froyo.
Is there no other way to find out my bootloader version? because a bit ago I accidentally flashed Defy + SBF to my phone after that managed to recover it so is there a way I can find out what Im on right now? because every time I try and flash 2.2.2 Retail british it just says pass and keeps with white led light and then I have to reflash this eclair thing.
There is no way to tell by looking at the phone. You need to point the highest BL version ROM you have flashed, but if you have flashed GB stock ROM, you have to forget about your camera,
Thats the thing my battery and camera works fine? could I have BL5?
If you have ever flashed a GB stock ROM, you probably are on a BL 6 Chinese Froyo.
What SBF could I flash that wouldnt harm my phone to see if any work?
Questions go in the Q&A section
Dont know the previous history of my defy
Guys, I bought 2 defys(both red lenses) of ebay. Both came with miui 2.3.3 (android version 2.3.7) pre-installed, with second init. Kernel version is 2.6.32.9-gb08c3c8 [email protected] #1 Fri June 3 11:40:33 CST 2011.
Dont know what's the highest version sbf was installed by the previous owner. in the first defy, flashed stock froyo sbf, resulting into soft-brick. tried to bring it back to life by all the methods given here on forum, but all failed. Finally installed BL6 defy plus df-125 sbf, and phone is back to normal, rooted with superoneclick with second init working.
Dont want this to happen on my second defy.
Want to know which sbf to flash in the second defy without elevating the BL version. Any method to check the current BL version.

Thanks for the links. Have already read them when my first defy was soft bricked. The issue is it failed to boot even with bl5 sbfs. Had to flash a BL6 SBF to make it working. My second defy which is still on miui 2.3.3 needs tinkering. But for that I need a safe base rom sbf, don't know the present bootloader version, because I got it from someone with miui preinstalled.

There was some Chinese app for this, but I don't recall the name. You can check bl version by hit and trial, starting from 5, or to be safe from 4. At the point when you don't get the boot loader error, you will come to know about the current bl version

Ajit,
A few questions
Is it a Defy or a Defy plus?
What is the name of the SBF that you flashed via RSD lite.
9.10 is not the boot loader version.I am assuming you are probably on BL7 (boot loader)and the SBF that you are trying to flash is a lower boot loader version . This happened to me when i flashed a Defy plus SBF on my Defy and then tried to downgrade just to find out that there was no returning back (as of today).
Here are the steps that i followed to get my phone working and i sincerely hope this may help you as well :
1) If you are on Defy plus (MB526) you can try flashing the rom mentioned in this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1595013. It will also help you to get a rooted device.
The above step should get you a working phone ,however if your device is a Defy (as you mentioned in the OP) you will end up having a non functional camera and experience battery drains.
In order to rectify this you can download this awesome rom from Quarx from the following URL http://quarx2k.ru/cm10-2ndboot-nightly-defy(+)/ (CM10-20121018-NIGHTLY-mb526.zip is the one that you should be downloading)and apply then the V3 update.
Your phone should now be running an awesome Jelly Bean based rom with everything working perfectly (well almost its still a Nightly Build)
The steps mentioned above is what got me a working phone and there could be other ways as well . This is a wonderful forum and i am sure that experts will help you in getting your problem resolved.:good:

I understand that at this point you are stuck at bootloader error message that you have mentioned in the title of this post. Connect your device to a PC and flash the SBF(stock defy rom) that you can download from the link below using RSD . Once RSD lite shows the status as "Finished" , you should then be able to boot normally. Hope this helps.

i have defy plus with BL version 9.10 and flashed it with "Blur_Version.45.0.2310.MB526.AsiaRetail.en.03 (2012/01/12)" and now its stuck at bootloader and with message code corrupt.
Nothing happens now as i switch the phone now bootloader shows with message "code corrupt"
i have tried reflashing it but still no use.
RSD lite 5.7 shows flashing fail as error in verifying checksums
please help :crying:
First: read thread about SBF files & BL (CG31/39.smg) versions , to get some knowledge (it's in Development section). 2nd: since you have Defy+ you can flash 231 sbf.
