It would be great if someone do this)) I like sense roms
But then the Nexus 7 would look like an oversized HTC phone. It'll still have the phone ui.

I would love to see sense on my Nexus 7.I love sense. But the Problem is hat there is no JB Version oft this rom and the flyer Rom is undersized
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
What does "undersized and oversized" mean?
Tapatalk 2-vel küldve az én Nexus 7-ről
I was so lucky to get rid of my flyer and buy the n7. The sense ui was horrible with annoyances like having to unlock the device twice if you had any sort of lock screen (once for sense, once for the lock). And that device will never go beyond honeycomb on an HTC rom.
I guess I just like the factory android experience. The main reason I rooted my sgs2 was to get rid of Samsung's 'enhancements' too.
Obviously, everyone has their own preferences, but flyer rom would be a huge step backwards...

I'm running stock, but am rooted with Nova. I'm going to wait for some Milestones from AOKP. I've tried some Roms but none of them are as stable as stock at this point.

I'm a fan of the paranoid android ROM by Molesarecoming. He's building the thing blind and it's still phenomenal. App-by-app layout ui as well as most CM10 features.
I'm running EOS because they have a great standard dpi tablet mode.
Paranoid supposedly is great and Liquid is always a favorite...
Paranoid may work well for me but Liquid doesn't have tablet mode. EOS is just simple. It feels like stock with a few simple eye candy options for the navigation bar. It just works well.
Overall you should do a nandroid and just go crazy. Everyone has a different opinion and features they like that runs well with their unique setup.

My first vote goes to Kaos-Droid, just make sure to include the apex launcher on v 3.1 in Aroma, otherwise you have issues with superSU and have to manually input network id's, bit besides that, super smooth & stable, great ROM :thumbup:
If you want something cm10 based, then my vote is glazed job by hyper runner.

Hey just wondering, when htc release jelly bean for the one x, would it be possible to make a sense 4 custom ROM for the nexus 7 somehow, seeing as they have similar processors, ram and their screen resolution s are not that different?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
You want a manufacturer skin over stock?!
Every android device I have ever owned, someone has always wanted a sense ROM. I just don't get it. Sense is a battery and performance nightmare from my experience. Of the two HTC devices that I have owned, the FIRST thing I did on each is install a non-sense ROM.

I hate Sense with a passion, I don't know why you would want it... everyone has different tastes, I guess

I love sense, but it probably isn't possible.

Sense on the Nexus 7 would be awesome. I know it can be a battery/cpu hog or whatever but seriously, I'm pretty sure the Nexus 7 could hardware could handle it. Sense has so many nice features that I miss. The UI is gorgeous (subjective, I know), the included widgets are fantastic especially the clock, and small things like the fact that navigation is linked to calendar events so you can just bring up an event in your calendar and then click on the location and it will take you there.
Edit: nearly forgot to mention the great music player, and the latest keyboard is main thing I miss.
Have no idea if it would be possible, but I would LOVE to see a sense rom for the nexus. What about a ported Flyer rom? I have no idea about development though so forgive me if it would be impossible.
I like sense
But the screen is a different resolution which will make it harder
Also things will look really really big
Best shot at a port will be if HTC release a tablet with sense and the same resolution as ours, along with a tegra
Also the flyer is a lower resolution

The resolution is basically the name as the one x is it not? Also, the hardware is pretty similar, tegra included. I don't think it would be that difficult to get a one x ROM going on the nexus? I wish I could do it myself!

Well sense 4 looks and feels great in my opinion. ( yeah it would be worse probably ) but it is pretty cool!

You can download Sense Themes and launchers and pretty much be set. Their 3rd party apps are buggy at best. My coworker constantly has problems with his HTC dialer and email apps.
Sense pretty much is just a launcher with special Widgets... and a couple of custom apps.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda premium
What launcher does the sense 4 effect?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
None can match Sense 3.x or 4 in overall cohesiveness and polish. All the clock widgets that try and copy the sense clock are subpar imitations. You can try to give your phone the sense look but it will never be as nice. I challenge anyone to screenshot their phone/tablet to prove that it can be done!

Hi,
Sorry to revive this post, but I just got my Nexus 7 and the first thing I miss so much is the Sense UI of my HTC One X ...
I buy HTC since the TyTN, and had the Touch HD, HD2, Sensation XE and now One X. Sense came with the Touch HD, and one main reason I keep buying HTC is the Sense layer (over their phone design that I still find better than other brands).
I never had issues so far with Sense since 4 years of using Sense on all these phones ...
I wonder if the Sense launcher can be output of an HTC Rom as an APK to install on other devices ?
While it may be possible to get sense working on a Nexus 7, it would be a ridiculous amount of work. I understand the request though as I used to love Sense. These days it's more like an ex girlfriend. I have fond memories of it but would never consider going back to it.

LOL, I love your comparison with "ex-girlfriend"
Anyway, I'll try to live differently with the Nexus 7 ... Hope I'll find a nive widget for time/date/weather ...

I'm curious about this as well. Been looking at Paranoid Android mainly.
Paranoid is the best way to go.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda premium
I am very happy about Paranoid
Definitely paranoid because some apps look really wonky with tablet ui at 720px, but with PA you can customize the layout of each individual app which is awesome.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Paranoid is amazing though I wish i could use other ROMs with paranoid features

Paranoid working fine for me. Like the per-app customization.
Stock works fine too.
IMUI has a really different and beautiful UI then all other ROM
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
MIUI is terrible for the Nexus 7. I love it on my S2 but too many phone features are still present in the Nexus 7 MIUI build. It feels half-done.
Paranoid Android is very slow but the UI customization is good.
I'm tempted to go back to stock though because it has been the smoothest and best battery performance rom for me.
PA 2.1 is good for me
Team Bamf
I'm using team bamf paradigm v2.2. Seems to work really well get really nice battery life out of it.
TeamEOS
The TeamEOS ROM works quite good for me.. I would recommend it to everyone!

The AOKP nightly ROM is pretty awesome.
Just ordered my Nexus 7 today, this have been sort of helpful...lol.
EOS has a dead simple Tablet UI option. Just check and forget. It uses the same DPI as stock so you dont have any comparability issues like other methods. I haven't had a single problem running in tablet mode regarding apps and games. PA gets good rep too but EOS simply just works so good I can't come off of it.
Battery is also simply amazing. I unplug at 8 when I go to work and will still be at 100% when I get home if I dont use it. I unplugged the N7 like 20 minutes ago and on XDA and still at 100%. Absolutely no complaints.

Hey Guys
Was just wondering if it's possible to somehow implement touchwiz on the nexus 10?
Any insights appreciated
I'm gonna say no! The Google aosp Roms are about roughly between 120 to 250mb in size , as a touchwiz rom is at least on my galaxy note almost 600+mb, there's too much tw system files to port , it would be half broken and it would run like crap, someone would have to be very dedicated to spend days upon days working on something like this only to be a bad and slow ROM. Your best chance is to find a touchwiz ux launcher that works with cm10 Roms and install that.
Just my opinion
Sent from my Nexus 10 using XDA Premium HD app
The Play Store has a TouchWiz theme, costs $2.00. I like it -- adds some nice subtle grays to the UI.
Can't be as bad as you say. They have touchwiz for the nexus 7, and that isn't even a Samsung product. It would just take some porting, and debugging/kernel modding to get it to work well.

Look at the amount of people involved in the development of that rom, it takes more than just some porting and debugging a kernel, I attempted to build a cm9 ROM for my galaxy note from source before official was out a while back and is no easy task, I know making touchwiz ROM work on a non tw device is not that simple. But that's just my opinion.

Google needs to put it in aosp as soon as possible. I wish they didn't kill off cornerstone as that was originally going to be part of cm but google told them to cease and desist.
Google would have to develop that from scratch, because that's Samsung-proprietary code.
Also, I hope that Google does NOT clutter up Android with stuff like this, for this we have ROMs like PA (which is already stuffed full of features that it barely works as a daily driver).

Paranoid android was great when it was based on cm. Its in 4.2 when they tried to go aosp and make their own tweaks that it became a mess. They need to go back to cm or switch to AOKP(uses CMs main code).
It wouldn't be that difficult to implement multi window. The cornerstone code would be a good starting point and android apps already scale to different resolutions without an issue.
