[Q]This build would work on my system ? - Defy Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey !
I have a Motorola Defy MB525. My question is simple : can I use the last build of CM10 ? The 28/11 ? Or is it reserved to Defy+ and 2ndBoot ?
And another thing... If I want to restore my current system, will a simple Nandroid backup work ? Or will I have to use a stock ROM before ?

Its for all defy's: +,green, red ,because it use same kernel. I recommented downgrade with SBF and wipe.

Thanks man !
So, I would have to downgrade with SBF, and flash a stock rom, before back up with Nandroid (I prefer to be sure ) !

[Q] Restore Defy+

Hi everyone
I made a mistake by installing CM7 to defy (mb525) on my defy + (mb526)
With this rom my motorola is a recognized defy (mb525) in the settings, it still uses all its capacity? What is changing?
How to submit an original rom defy + (mb526)?
I can then put the right to defy CM7 + (mb526)?
It is not unlocked, locked SFR (France), and I have not seen sfb SFR it does not matter to put one another?
Sorry for my English ... it is the automatic translator
thank you very much
Up please help me
What Cyanogen build did you use?
I suggest this version, it hasn't got any bugs:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1445259
It shows MB526(I think it's written in the bluid.prop)
Use the ROM sugested by Mister-Samossa or the last nighty whith those patchs.
I'm using the cm72-120127.0846-NIGHTLY-Defy+ with the patchs and it works very well: no FCs, camera works properly, battery life is good (2-3 days), charged until 100% and no gaps when discharging.
i'am in test this rom,but patch whit install ?? thank for reply !!
Do you need a new SBF to flash these, or can I just go from stock 2.3.5?
edit: I can just go from stock, it only requires a GB kernel, which my stock has.

You must install the patchs from [] AL [] using recovery->Install zip if you want a working camera and that battery can charge to 100%

You don´t need to flash any other SBF. I installed it over the stock 2.3.5 rooted.

Best MIUI ROM for defy: MIUI Pikachu edition!
If you have froyo cm7 (sounds like it because you have green lense defy) you can just do the normal wipes (data, cache, dalvik) and flash. If you flash Pikachu edition, data will be wiped automaticaly
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1161110
try wiui 2.3.16 stable..its pretty fast and based on miui..
but i like cm7 the speed is incomparable...and plays 720p videos like a Ferrari lol
MIUI 2.3.16 :FTW:
very stable - plenty fast & usually updated every week ^^
MIUI are beautiful,but I didn't like it

Sure. Make a Back-Up in CWM (Recovery). It's easy to recover your system there without re-installing apps/contacts or stuff like that. Just Go in CWM --> Backup & Restore -->Backup (all).
If u want to restore Later: same way. CWM --Y Backup and restore --> Restore (system & data).
greetz
Thanx buddy...
I was jus afraid as I read somewhere dat u can't switch back to cm after flashing miui...
Can u plz send me the link to latest version of miui??

Well, it's just your descision. I like the MIUI Pikachu Edition! But in the past months they developed so many other MIUI Roms - i didn't try others. It's your choice! I think they're all good.
Take the Blue or the Red Pill
Pikachu Edition 2.3.2 *AROMA INSTALLER*
WIUI 2.3.16
MIUIandroid Defy 1.8.5

Sorry for the bad description.
I can root my Phone and install my CM7 ROM with the Recovery.
If I boot the Phone normal it hangs at the Red Motorla Logo.
After install the Defy+ Nightly Build the phone boots complitly fine.
Actually I would like to use the nightly source to build a new ROM.
Is it possible to download this source code?

[Q] How to flash Quarks Custom Kernels

Dear All,
Greetings !!!!!
I have green lense defy in which i had accidently flashed defy plus rom. now my defy is on sbf of defy plus as it is non down (BL7)
For almost 1 month My camera was dead but after flashing quarks 2nd boot rom ( which includes custom kernels) my camera starts working.
Now if i flash other roms for eq. rapidroid / miui / wajkUI then kernels changes ( it shows kernel name like hudson ) & again my camera wont work.
Should I flash custom kernel of quarks on the above mentioned roms?? Will Camera work ???
Please guide me ...Thanks in Advnce...
Latest Qarx ROM's have kernel embedded so you do not need to flash nothing more but gapps. Do cash and dalvic wipe and flash newest 18/10 ROM then gapps.
The ROM is unified and suits any kind of Defy

Oops! Quarx kernel is for JB, which contains jb ramdisk internally. It won't boot for other than jb builds. You can install any jb rom, like, aokp, cna, slimbean all work with Quarx kernel, but not with any other cm9 and less builds.
Please Specify in details...

No. These ROMs have the kernel embedded in them. You just need to Flash the zip file through recovery.

Premaca,
Does this mean that there is no way to downgrade to other roms like MIUI (gingerbread based) or the stock defy Froyo rom using a nandroid backup?
At present there is no way to do so...

You can go back from the custom kernel to your stock rom. The custom kernel doesn't change your bootloader version. So no need to worry.
Your Reply Will Help Thousands of DEFY Users

Dear Uman, Ur reply will definately help thousands of defy user (mb525 ) who have accidently flashed full sbf of defy plus (mb 526) and who are on BL 7. Before quarks custom kernels i.e. second boot roms camera of all those defy users was dead. Only after flashing quarks second boot rom camera becomes on!!! But I have gone through full XDA Forum & according to my RnD, at present there is no way to downgrade BL7. For ur information I had tried 2.2 nandroid backup but it was giving me bootloader error, further more I had switched to other GB Roms but then kernels changes and phone was working fine without camera.. Kindly confirm ur reply so that I will once again try to do so......:good:
