Lots of people have their nexus now. For the rest of us, what are your overall impressions.
Great, good, average, could be better. You get the idea.
I've heard people complain about the touchscreen sensitivity. It bothers me that USB otg is lacking. Don't know if that will ever be fixed.
I love nexus devices. Had the g nexus, have the nexus 7, and I've loved those. Will I love this device?

if you loved your gnex, you'll love the n4. its basically the same phone but faster & smoother. the screen is nice (better than the gnex) but imo not as great as the HOX. touch response is great for me, sound is better, all in all its a very nice phone. you won't be disappointed.

I went from an Atrix 2 -> N4.
Faster, smoother, less buggy. Faster. Snappier. Smoother. Sexier. Smoother.
There's a trend there.
I like what I'm hearing. Wish otg was going to happen

Can someone please take a post a video of the camera app in action. Not of a video, but video of pictures being taken. I'm interested in the camera action/quickness. With or without flash, etc.

What can I expect UI wise? I really like the clean look of the Galaxy Nexus UI especially the people app. Can I expect the same on Note 2? Also, how's the smoothness? I've used GS III and wasn't happy with the choppy UI.

You can always flash cyanogenmod on it and have a super nexus lol

Note 2 hasn't been released yet. You probably know more about the phone than anybody else at this point......
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
To be honest you can expect around the same UI and performance as the GSIII. The GSIII serves as a good reference point for the Note II though there would probably be small differences to accomodate the massive arse screen lol. Although it may perform a tad better simply due to the raw horsepower however it still probably won't be quite as smooth or cohesive as the Nexus.
Yes it will be smoother than the S3 and that's because of jellybeans project butter. it somewhat forces the UI to stick at 60fps at all times.
Why or why not, please explain.
Go!

This is my first nexus device so I can't really answer your question but I know the nexus 4 blows all the android devices on ATT out of the water.

I like this phone more than my gnex except for not having a removable battery. It's much faster than both of my last 2 phones.

Yeah, I am perfectly happy with the Nexus 4 as well.
Initially didnt intend to upgrade from the Galaxy Nexus, but then that one died a painful, painful death on a Bar Counter.
Couldn't be happier, it feels extremely solid and is fast as hell. With the custom kernels out there you get the battery to get you through the day, I dont need anything else.
I have had the Nexus S, Galaxy Nexus and now the N4. Hands down it is a better device. It feels like a premium device, rock solid with no squeaks etc.
You can keep holding out for better devices, but then you will never buy one! Bigger and better phones are always around the corner.
Besides, the differences now are so small, it really doesn't make sense to wait.
Sent from my GT-N5110 using xda app-developers app
yeah definetely.
had the Galaxy Nexus, and altough I really liked, it doesnt feel like the N4.. and once you have the N4. the GN with that plastic back starts to look like a cheap cell
Im using my gnex while my N4 is charging and yes the N4 feels superior than my gnex, way faster too... The N4 is the best Nexus to date!

Best device I've used.

I miss the curved screen on my GNex. Otherwise I'm very happy to have made the upgrade. There isn't anything I have thrown at this phone which it can't handle.
I have owned all of the Nexi except the Nexus S.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
I ask because this is the only nexus I've owned and I think I'll only replace it with another nexus. I came from a galaxy s 4g so yes my nexus is much faster, I like the feel of the custom roms the utility of the phone.

Best for me and I always prefer the latest Nexus!
I have actually owned the original Nexus One, Nexus S, and the Galaxy Nexus, and now the Nexus 4.
My top 2 choices would have to be the HTC One, but the N4 is the best with the Nexus S being 4th place.
I've had every nexus phone and it's my personal favorite and objectively the best all around Nexus device.
I do miss the car dock for the Nexus One though, who do we have to kill to get an inductive charging bluetooth car dock for the N4?
I've owned the nexus one, galaxy nexus and now the N4.
N4 gives me the same feel as the nexus one did when I first go it. Mainly "WOW. THIS IS AMAZING." Something that the GN couldn't do. Perhaps it's my samsung hatred.
But yeah, the N4 is by far the best nexus i've ever had.
Yeah it is. But Nexus One blew my mind when it came out. So to me its the best
This being my 3rd Nexus of course it is :good::good::good::good::good::good:
Has any one gone back or still uses there gnex?

Sold mine for this. Not going back. The hardware on the galaxy nexus won't live to see another year I'm afraid.

i use both my n4 and gnex, but keep the sim in the n4.
I loved my GNex but my N4 is leaps and bounds better. I can't think of any reason I'd go back.
Why?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
As fan of nexus series can't see any point to return on Gnex (I had it before n4). Just my opinion.
No.

No real reason why just asking.

Have both. But N4 is my major, I barely touch my Gnex or Nexus S now
No ways that I am going back
not even in my wildest dreams...hell no
My GNexus died. It was great device, i mean it provided great user experience in spite of really average specs (like very poor GPU). I think optimization in case of ti-omap was relatively more advanced than it is in case of snaprdagon s4 pro maybe due to ti's more open policy. Gnex cannot measure up hardwarewise to N4. It can hardly handle more demanding live wallpapers without lag. Its screen is the biggest flaw -grainy, horrible horizontal banding. But still touch responsiveness and scrolling experience is very smooth. To be honest I preferred stock browser experience on my gnex than the one provided with n4 and chrome. Just pinch to zoom and scroll. Literally, heaven and earth difference. But that's the end of gnex's advantages over n4 I noticed so far. I completely disagree with those criticising our lcd-ips screen. It's awesome! I really don't feel the need for 1080p screen. And... 2 GB of ram + 1,5 GHz x4 krait. Why would I downgrade to Gnex? N4 is all I need

After tinkering with the nexus 4 wih custom roms, kernals, tweaks. I have yet to find a solution to fix the responsiveness of the screen. I have gone theough 3 nexus devices so far. The first nexus had issues with speaker producing static sounds, second device had a malfunctioming screen , third drvice has 2 dead pixels. Okay, so I guess LG has serious quality control issues. But the responsiveness of the screen has been terrible on all the nexus devices I have had, even with the roll back screen driver available. Just a simple comparison to the galaxy s3 shows how weak the responsiveness on the nexus 4 really is.
How is the screen responsiveness on your nexus 4? And what had you done to improve it?

It was good, but after upgrading to a 4.3 custom rom it has hugely improved. Sad for you having this problem.
4.3 ROMs are much snappier and the screen is just too good.
I've always disliked the lack of responsiveness of the touchscreen on this phone. Every time I use my girlfriend's Galaxy Nexus it feels significantly better. I do have to admit that I missed that screen. The transition from gnex to n4 was weird in terms of color and touch
Sent from my Nexus 4 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
My nexus 4 has no touch responsivness issues neither on 4.2 nor 4.3.
As for my old galaxy nexus, there is a whole thread about touch sensitivity droping, and only fix was turning screen OFF then back ON. My gnex suffered from that and it was really annoying especially when typing

When I got my nexus4 it a sort of downgrade in touch respond. And I came from a Galaxy s. Im used to it now and 4.3 is better but gnex just feels better

I found that the upgrade to 4.3 caused a big improvement in touch responsiveness.
I'm pretty surprised they have built the screen in this manner. Try using a stylus on the the nexus 4, it doesn't even register until you press it down. Even my old nexus s had a much more responsive screen. Its pretty dissapointing , good overall phone bottlenecked by a weak display.

I agree I just came from the iPhone 6s plus and the fingerprint scanner was beyond great.

My wife has the Note 5 and between the two, I still like mine better. Its just a better footprint overall.
I've got both. I don't see any difference in performance except when I compared them in Gear VR. The Note 5 was way much smoother for some reason (maybe something dragging down the S7E in the background..?) picture quality is slightly better on S7E but it feels like the Note 5 has slightly larger field of view.
Otherwise it's up to everyone personal preference design-wise.
