Delete Lockscreen/Only Password - Windows 8 General

Hello.
Is it possible to remove the lockscreen on my W8Pro?
I only want to see the password input, when i lock my laptop.

There is a group policy somewhere, I can't recall the direct location. I'll look later if I can find it again, I did exactly what you are searching for.
Sent from my Liberty using xda premium

Found the group policy! Just open the GPO (fire up a run dialog, type gpedit.msc and press Enter) and navigate to Computerconfiguration -> Administrative Templates -> Control Panel -> Personalization and enable(!) the policy named "Do not display the lockscreen". That's all!

I'm curious, why do you want to do this? If you didn't know, you can just click or press any button to dismiss the lockscreen, you don't actually have to drag it up.

That's works! Nice, Thank you!!

I setup an autoconfig for when I install windows on different systems (or reformat) which disables it through the registry. This also works if you have a non-pro version of windows 8, which doesn't include the group policy editor. Likewise, it is also simpler than hunting through gpedit.
The attached file is part of my autoconfig with only the lock screen part included. Rename it from a .txt to a .reg, double click, enjoy.

Device Lock

Anyway the device lock be mapped to a soft key instead of a hard key? I have it mapped to the messaging button, but would rather have it at the calendar or contacts button.
Cingular 8125
ROM 1.8.11.1WWE
WM5
A little program called WM5NewMenu should do it. It's free, just put it into a google search.

Thx, but all this did was to let me rename the word "calendar" to "device lock", with the actual calendar program still assigned to the left softkey.

I'm trying to get some directions for the program, from doing a little research on google it looks like you can reassign the button with that program, just have to figure out how. I'll look for some direction on the program.
Ok, I figured it out.
Goto WM5newmenu, under "launch by:" select "Left Softkey" Then under "Soft Key Label:" enter your label (ie. "Lock")
Then goto the "items" tab. select "new" then select the little box next to "parameters:" select "windows" then ""go into" at the bottom.
Scroll over to "BSDeviceLock.exe" then hit "select"
Then enter "lock" or whatever you want under "item label:"
You will see the new entry on the left side of the screen, you may have to scroll down a little. You can uncheck all of the other items and just leave the new "Lock" item you created. After that select ok and do a soft reset.
After it resets, hit your left sofkey, you will see your newly created lock pop up. Then just hit the center button on the pad! It locks!! I just did this and it works!!
Hope this helps,
Just found this, it's even better then WM5newmenu:
Reassign left softkey on Today screen to open Notes application
Use Total Command to navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Today\Keys\11 2
Change the “Default” key to the name that you want to appear on the button (in my case Notes)
Change the “Open” value to the location of the program you want to open (in my case “Windows/Notes.exe” ( you would enter “Windows/BSdevicelock.exe”)
Perform a soft reset
Look in your windows folder to see if you have BSdevicelock.exe if you don't let me know and i'll get it to you.

I did the registry edit, and when I tap the left soft key, I get "the file device lock cannot be opened due to an untrusted certificate, or one of its components is missing." I could NOT find BSdevicelock.exe in the Windows folder. Where in windows should this file be located?
I would like that BSdevicelock as well, if I could.
Its in the root windows folder, you probably don't have it.
I'll attach it as soon as I get home from work tonight!
Just copy it into your windows directory.
BSDevicelock
Just unzip this and place it in your windows folder with the registry change.
Hope this helps!

Got it good buddy! I kept the other items in WM5NewMenu and labeled the softkey "Menu", and changed BSdevicelock in the label box to Device Lock. Now all I do is hit the new softkey "Menu", scroll to device lock, hit the center button on the D pad. Device locks like you said it would! I was able to do this after extracting the BSdevicelock.zip to my Windows folder. Excellent instructions! Thx a MILL! If you discover anything else that's appealing, let me in on it..o.k.? Just found out I could move Device Lock to the top. Now I don't have to scroll down.

I use MortSaver (Phone Edition) which locks and blanks screen and relocks/blanks screen after calls/reminders etc..
guys you seem to me to be making this quite hard for yourselves
use this softkey app to change the softkeys (3rd post)
use this device lock app.
go to start/settings/system/softkey and select the device lock app
and soft reset, softkey changes generally don't occur until after

None of your "this" links worked for me. Besides, I'm content now.
My old simple Nokia 6200 had a feature whereby the keypad was locked automatically without need for a PIN three minutes (selectable) after a call when there was no activity.
Is there any easy way to implement this ? I can map H/W keys (thanks to Molski) but this isn't quite the same.

Is BSdevicelock better than the lock app already on the device in the Windows folder??
The app im talking about is called devicelock.exe on my device. I have an HTC Wizard
I did not have devicelock.exe in my windows folder originally. BSdevicelock is just a little program that simply locks the device. I don't have devicelock.exe, but I imagine they probably do the same thing. I think BSdevicelock is actually installed by the BatteryStatus program. If you have a later version of Battery Status, you should have BSdevicelock.

Quickmenu empty settings folder

Hey guys,
I "installed" quickmenu, works great except when I want to go to Settings it states "empty". So I have to "uninstall" to get through the original startmenu to settings.
Does anyone know how I can get to settings with Quickmenu??
That's probably because your windows isn't English. I have the same problem in Polish version.
You can either tap and hold the windows logo (if you haven't disabled this option - i did), so that the classic menu shows up, or go to quickmenu options, then to commands tab. look for an entry named settings, select it and press "Create shortcut". Then place the newly created shortcut in your /windows/menu start/settings (or equivalent path in your language). Now, when you open the steeings section in quichmenu, you'll have only that shortcut in there. When you press it, another menu, this one containing actual settings will pop up.
I like the second way much more, since settings appear in a cascadable menu, not in the standard fullscreen window manner.
or go to /windows/starmenu and create there a folder called "Settings"
you will have then one empty settings folder in you native language and another working one in english
Thanks, works great..

bluetooth & double click

Hey all, i have two questions.
Question 1:
Is there an option to enable double clicking? I mean, when i click on a .cab file it immidiatly opens file, same thing when i want to select a image file. This is quite annoying, so i was wondering if there's an option to enable double click, so i have to double click on files before they open.
Question 2:
Also another thing, i've enabled bluetooth on my device. When i goto "Pictures and Videos" and select a picture i want to be able to send this with bluetooth. But for some reason this option isn't availibe there? All the options i see are:
MMS (SMS/MMS)
VoiceMail (SMS/MMS)
E-mail
Where's the bluetooth option!?

I'm not sure either
I goto Start > Programs > File explorer, i use the default explorer. When i click on Menu in the bottom right of the screen then i don't see any option called "Tools". Do i need to update my ROM version or something? Or is the option somewhere else..?

I use SPB Mobile Shell 3.5 and this software knows how to get widgets (shortcut) on Today. There is "Wirelless manager" in Start-Settings-Connections. Make a shortcut and be happy!

Now the only thing is to see how to Unlock ROM and put another one on my phone
Orig WiFi program as supplied with windows can be found using file explorer- Windows folder then scroll down till you see a file"WLanSettings" with a small picture of a PDA next to it.Highlight this file then select copy. Navigate to where you want to install, click in the window. Choose paste shortcut. Next, if you want, rename shortcut. Copy result, navigate to the folder you wish to place the shortcut in (ie settings?), paste. Close explorer, go to start menue, navigate to shortcut just created, should work

Thanks for the suggestion. I already found these WLanSettings, but it still isn't exactly what I'm after. When I launch WLanSetting, next I have to turn on Wireless LAN, wait...because my access point takes a while to appear in the list, because of the waiting period it doesn't "auto connect" anymore, so I have to press "change network" and select it manually from the list with detected access point...Hold it...
Thanks again !! because when trying this (at this very moment), "Settings" appeared in my task manager (after pressing "change network"; this opened Configure Wireless Networks). Through task manager I was able to see what exe-file was behind "Settings". It's "ctlpnl.exe cplmain.cpl,17,2". Thanks to Google I just found out that putting 33# before ctlpnl.exe (without a space!) and saving this as .lnk works perfectly!!!

Question is there a way to disable theme aware livetiles in windows 10

i really liked windows 10 color full live tiles they were all different but Microsoft ruined it by adding theme aware live tiles they are all just very formal is there a way to disable them and get back coloured live tiles
https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-start-win_menu/how-to-make-start-menu-black-with-blue-tilesapps/6a7e0d35-7f5a-49b3-a406-c25b8371faf5?page=1
Tap on the Windows-key and wait for the Start Menu to open. Watch all the Live Tiles in their glory, if you have not turned them off yet manually.
Type gpedit.msc and hit enter.
Confirm the UAC prompt that appears. The Local Group Policy Editor should be open now.
Use the hierarchy on the left to navigate to the following policy group: Local Computer Policy > User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Star Menu and Taskbar > Notifications.
There you find listed on the right Turn off tile notifications.
Double-click the entry, and set it to enabled on the screen that opens.
The effect? "If you enable this policy setting, applications and system features will not be able to update their tiles and tile badges in the Start screen."
