In the new dual finger swipe quick settings bit. It was working fine, until I unlocked the bootloader and rooted. Now when I click it, it says "The contact doesn't exist".
What can I do to get my account back onto that?
Factory reset or re add your Google account should work.

I usually have to sign in to Google+ for it to show up.

I don't have a Google+ account so mine is populated by the 'Me' contact at the top of my People list. Do you have that contact still?
Ah, it was the google+. Thanks =)

I just installed the official Twitter app and it is awesome! I love that it integrates with my contacts.
There's one problem, though. If I join a Twitter contact to an existing contact, it uses the Twitter username as the contact's display name instead of the name I entered via Google contacts and I can't find a way to fix this. It is really annoying. I have a few joined contacts that are Google + Facebook + Twitter and some that are just Facebook + Twitter and I am frustrated that I can't control how the contact shows up in the list.
Any ideas or fixes?
Thanks

FWIW it is only happening on contacts that I join manually. The ones that it joined automatically show the "Google" display name.

same problem and nothing I can do about it either. I am guessing its a bug
It seems like the order you join them in matters. Or maybe it is the alphabetical order of the names. I do see that the nickname field is populated but I can't seem to override it.

For some reason only a very small number of my contacts appear in my People app. If I open Gmail I have over 50 entries, but only about 10 are listed in my People app. Any idea how to get everyone to show up in my People app?
Thanks!

When in doubt, give the device a reboot. If that doesn't work, log into Gmail and reset the sync contacts part (take the tick off that, save it, go back in and re-enable). If these two things don't work, I'm out of ideas.

Hi,
I just got a nexus 4 with android 4.2.2. When creating a contact with Go contact, I can chose between phone contact and google contact. When I then create a phone contact this automatically changes into a google contact after I reboot the phone. Why is this and how can I switch this automatic conversion off?
When you first logged into you're Google account when you first got your n4, you left the box ticked that says backup phone content with Google account.
AFAIK the only way to get back to that option is to factory reset

It's a LOT easier to leave it as a Google contact as they'll be automatically restored should you ever change Android phone. You won't have to re-add them
Thanks for your reply. I actually did not leave the box ticked. I also have Backup my data unchecked in settings-->Backup&reset. I also switched off all syncing. Do you have any other suggestion? With andriod 2.2 I did not have that problem. Phone contacts always stayed phone contacts.

Why are you so worried about it syncing to google when you are using Go contacts?
I just want to use google for email not all the other stuff.

Then use a diff email app instead of the gmail one. That way you can have your email and not use the Google contacts.

Thanks for the tip. I now removed the google account from the phone and that works well.

I have a problem with the built in email app on the Galaxy Note 3 (SM-9005).
I use the built in email app with an Exchange account for work. Since day one it has been working flawlessly.
Yesterday, all of a sudden, new email doesn't show up in the mail app. Email arrives as it should to the account when I check it at the computer. When I try and manually update in the app, the time stamp for "last updated" in the upper right hand corner doesn't change. It does however seem to try and check every once in a while, since the time stamp updates during the course of the day.
I have tried to change the password on the account and the phone, but it doesn't help.
I have also tried removing the account altogether and then adding it again. That doesn't help either. What's even more strange is that the email will sync back to the device when the account is readded, up until yesterday. No email from yesterday or after shows up.
None of my colleagues experience the same problem, but most if them are sporting iPhones.
I can't think of anything in particular that I have installed lately that might bring this problem along.
Does anyone recognise this problem, or even better, know how to fix it?
Thanks!

Really, no one recognises this? Strange problem. Still haven't solved it. Any assistance would be much appreciated.

Did you frozen or deleted the magazine app? If you done that then email brakes.

Really? I might have done that, but I don't think so. What exactly is the app called? Could you post a screenshot of är the icon. It would be much appreciated!

Every email address that's ever hit my Gmail is showing up as a contact. Any way to stop this?

I've done that. The only option I've seen is to hide ones with no phone number. I've got done that are email only. They show up fine on my old phone (S6E).

I went to contact settings - - > display - - > customize. I checked My Contacts under my Gmail account.

Yes, but I want my contacts from my Google account. The problem is that email addresses that are not saved as actual contacts in Gmail are showing up.
Maybe an issue with Inbox?

I had this happen to me. to be honest, best thing you can do is take the 5-10 minutes and go through a delete everything that is not a true contact. It had been happening to me since my S6 and I've just done the simple "display only contacts with numbers" and ignored it.
It took me about 10 minutes of going through all my contact options and removing everything I didn't need. once done, I resynced my gmail and everything is good once again.
