Hi!
I'm using X1i-Youtube-v0.1a to play YT movies.
When using Wifi, movies are lagging, pausing and video/sound dyssynchronizing.
When video is fully loaded, then problem dissapear. I presume thats performance problem. Is possible to setup something to solve this ?
However my internet speed is full 2mb so that's not bandwidth problem
i doubt if its the phones fault...u can try to change some wifi settings..
u can go to Settings>Connections> Wireless LAN> Power Mode ..and set the indicator to 'Best Performance' ..instead of 'Best battery' or middle level.
let me know if it fixes the issue
I've searched and searched and searched but there doesn't seem to be a post on this forum that helps my problem...
Basically, my wifi doesn't work trying to watch videos on my Youtube app (Version 2.6, Build 1919.3526) available on my phone. Mind you, I just flashed one of Dutty's Roms (Dutty's Topaz WM6.5 Leo R6). Funny thing is, Youtube worked with wifi that night when I flashed it and hasn't worked since then. IE works, Opera works, Skyfire works, and even searching for videos on the Youtube app itself works with wifi but when I click on a video I want, it doesn't come up and instead leaves me hanging with the loading circle for quite a while
Here are the possible solutions I learned from searching this forum:
1. Turn of Proxy settings - Did this and didn't work....
2. Turn wifi Power Mode to "Best Performance"... Did that and still didn't work
Its my home connection and my wife's iPod touch works perfectly with our wifi. All I really want is to be able to use Youtube on my wifi connection... please help

Yup same problem here! Youtube was working,
before i even knew it had a "pre-"loader (prior to a reset?
now Youtube will bomb with "connection failed" after long attempts
My Pure is still on the stock ATT Rom
(interested in 2.5 Hero burns but waiting for official backup rom)
Have been loading other Video streamer APs
they still seem to work ok

Exact same problem. I am running the official HTC 6.5 rom on my Pure. All of a sudden Youtube doesn't work over wifi. I grabbed my HD and Youtube works fine over wifi. I reset my modem and router just to be sure and still no dice.
Any ideas out there? How can everything work great except Youtube over wifi?
EDIT: Well, I remembered that this same thing had happened to my HD and I saved the fix in my favorites! Not sure why it worked but this fixed it instantly for me. Hope this helps. Thanks to our Cortez. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3466750&postcount=40
I evenually got this to work by loading the following cab also found on XDA
StreamingMediaX02HT.cab
after which I had to reload the Coreplayer!!
(it somehow lost links to most of its video codecs?)
Now the Youtube ap works correctly
(Loads for a short while and then plays the files it was timing out on b4)
I think the problem is in the Youtube AP on the Pure, but thats just a guess
but If I remember correctly the Youtube ap was not enabled by default
(you had to drag the link to the programs folder) So maybe they realized there were problems?
But there definately is a problem somewhere and it shows on the Pure
KJL
I have not tried the youtube app, but opera on my pure does not like my wifi. Skyfire and IE and Facebook ap work fine with wifi on. I turn off wifi and opera works. The problem with that is we only have edge network here for now. Hope they do a rom update soon with some fixes.
I'm not sure if I'm the only one having this issue or not.
Okay, if I wipe my phone and install google music 3.0.1.339 it works fine over 3g until I shut down the app.
Once I shut down the app and turn it back on to stream from my google music beta it gets a FC as soon as I start to stream.
I turn on Wifi, I stream fine.
I turn off wifi before the song fully downloads and continue streaming from 3g, works fine.
I switch songs, staying on 3g, fails again.
So every time I try streaming on Wifi, it works fine. If I start on wifi switch to 3g, works fine. However if I don't use any wifi it fails, unless I wipe my phone.
Is anyone else experiencing this issue? I've turned off Cache music in the options and all that good stuff. Is it a 2.2 issue or is it a app error? Anyone have any information on this? I've searched the forums but haven't really found a resolution on this issue. :\
Nope mine has no issues at all.
Mine just runs bad on 2g when it switches over.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA Premium App
The app on my phone will not even load the music for streaming. its been 3 weeks and i can play it all from the google music site. But none of it loads on the player 3g or wifi. Dont know what I missed.
I'm having the same issue. It also happens with the sirius xm app. I'd love a fix.
I haven't even gotten my invitation yet...
I stream over 3G, in my car, all the time.

I'm having the same problem. It only plays the music on my SD card, despite having uploaded over 3000 songs that work just fine on the website. This is extremely frustrating.
If you have an ad blocker then disable it. Such as JRummy's Droid Overclock app, or Liberty Customizer, or apps like AdFree... If you enable ads again this should fix streaming issue, also the sirus app issue. This issue also happens in pandora occasionally.

Well i fixed my issue really quick today. as for not being able to even see any music was because i keep my account syncs turned off. Once i synced it all my music came up.
Now I am having the same problem. Music plays great over 3g, but randomly it will stop syncing all music and not sync again until i reboot my phone. Then works fine over 3g again for awhile.

Wow. That actually was my issue. I remember checking there awhile ago, but I didn't see a sync music option. Now today, I see it. Thanks!
Thought I'd bump this with a solution I found for OP's problem. Go to Settings > Applications > Manage Applications and find the Music app. Clear its data, resync music, and everything should be okay. It worked for me at least.
EDIT: Ahh, I should've tried closing the app and reopening before posting this, because it now force closes again when listening to music on 3G.
I am in Canada and I can use google Music just fine on wifi, even without a proxy. When I try to switch over to 3g I get a message saying "You must be on a Wi-fi network to play this song"
I use Auto-Proxy to make my apps work over Ulimited Mobile Browsing data plan.
I am having the same issue as the OP. I amon a Motorola Droid2 running Liberty Gingerbread ROM v0.9. I disabled the ad blocker, and can stream just fine over wifi. When I switch to 3g, I can stream songs, but if I restart Google Music, then it force closes every time I try to stream over 3g.
Force Close with Google Music - Solved For Me
Got the beta, installed the exe on wintel os, all worked fine after fixing 2 problems - sounds like maybe one you had.
1. kept getting a force close from android device. I had Rom Toolkit and the ad blocker added. Once I removed that - no more force closes.
2. tried to upload a root level folder with way to many files let alone songs from the computer (not android). Removed it, then tried to upload things and kept getting "to many songs" or something like that. Had to put back that folder and let it upload everything. Once it was finished, I deleted it all and re-uploaded just the folders with songs I wanted. Fixed.
Hope it helps someone!
Hi all,
*UPDATE* The problem is solved. I realized the YouTube app was also not working on my phone over WiFi, but was fine over 4g isolating the problem to my home network. The solution was to unplug the router, modem and nexus player for more than 10 seconds. I first plugged in the router until it completed its boot phase, then plugged in the router until it completed its boot phase and finally plugged in my Nexus Player. *End update*
My Nexus Player crashed at the end of a YouTube video and I had the following happen:
When opening YouTube all I get is the red vertical bar on the left and the search bar but no text or videos - eventually it just says "an error occured". Movies & TV app also opens with only the background but no text or options. There are also no recommendations on the home screen but just "Recommendations aren't available right now. Check back later".
All other apps work fine (Kodi and Genesis, IceFilms etc, games, Netflix (though I don't use it), Chrome, ES File Explorer, etc.)
What I've tried (multiple times):
-Cleared data in YouTube, Movies & TV, Google Play Services.
-Uninstalled updates on YouTube, Movies & TV, Google Play Services. Without updates, Movies & TV then had the old options appear (videos, etc.), but YouTube and the home
screen reccs still didn't work.
-Reinstalled updates, even once using the Google Play Services apk.
-Disconnected and reconnected the WiFi on the device.
-Signed out of my account, used a different account, signed back into my standard one.
-Reset time manually and back to automatic.
- Updated firmware on router.
-Restarted the device (unplugged for more than 10 seconds and restarted from settings), modem and router and tried all of the above fixes again.
Any ideas on potential fixes will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Hi,
Does anyone else run a non-Huawei usb modem? (i see that a majority of the ones which work seemingly fine are made by those).
Mine is a no-make 4g/wifi usb dongle and I have managed to get it to work but only by using "PPP Widget 3" and I needed to root my head unit to do it too.
Whilst not ideal, it does seem to work.. for the most part. Once it boots up it connects and all is good, got it to auto connect. great.
But
Google Maps seems to think it is offline. :-/
Every other app is fine, except that. Even all of other Google apps such as chrome, gmail, playstore etc, all work fine.
I've checked the settings and it is set to allow background data and unlimited data use etc.
Little confused.
Any ideas?
Also is there any easy way to see if the unit has an internet connection in the notification bar next to volume/time etc? as because i'm using PPP Widget the OS doesn't really see it as a proper internet connection it seems.
thanks in advance.
anyone?
