samsung galaxy tab 10.1 not charging and turning on - Hardware Hacking General

I have a galaxy tab 10.1. I bought a refurbished tablet last week and it was working well until yesterday. when i try to charge the tablet it charges for about 10-15 seconds and stops charging, as a result i ran out of battery and now i am not able to turn on the tablet. I even tried to factory reset it and nothing worked for me. I used different outlets to charge, tried holding the power button and volume down button for 30 seconds and still no result. my main problem is the tablet not being charged. even when charging without turning the tablet on, it will charge for few seconds and it will show the yellow triangle. please help me with the solution.

Try put it there for an hour.. If charger feels hot, means it charge... If yellow triangle out, it means it might be bricked... And memory might be dead... Hardware issue.
Accidentally sent from my Samsung Galaxy Note 2

Perhaps cell short. But I think it will be the end of service.

[Q] Is my Nexus 4 dead? What can I do to recover it?

Hi,
A few days ago my nexus 4 stopped working on me, I haven't found anyone having an identical issue so far.
Essentially, my phone does not turn on any more. I have tried holding volume down and power and this produces nothing. The only thing I can get is the red LED turning on if I hold power for about 10 seconds with it plugged in, it lingers a bit if I release power., but immediately turns off if unplugged.
It stopped working while it was plugged in and at about 60% battery, I had not had any problems with the device in the past, it worked flawlessly up to that moment. The device was running stock without any third party firmware.
Does anyone know what happened, and what I can do about it? I somewhat suspect a battery issue but I'm not sure, any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Hi, I'm having the exact same issue. My Nexus 4 (stock Lollipop 5.0, not rooted) died while the battery was 80% full, and the phone was charging. Shortly before it died, it restarted several times within a few hours. The phone doesn't respond to power button, neither it responds to power/volume button combination. When the phone is connected to a charger, nothing happens - no LED, no screen. If the phone is connected to a charger, and I press the power button (or power/volume) for >10s, LED starts blinking in red. The blinking pattern is weird - it blinks steadily 10 times, and gives one short blink. Any suggestions? Or any hope to get the data out?
You can possibly fix this by holding either power up or down for 15+ seconds and then connect the phone to a computer with USB. This has worked for me.
The problem might be that the battery is dying, because I've only had this problem when I've let the battery discharge, and then turned it on again. It's probably a mechanism to protect the battery from becoming "too" discharged, which might break it.
Everytime I had this in the past, I was able to fix by plugging into a very high powered charger (1000mA <) and holding down vol up + power. Eventually, it seems to trickle charge and then start. Once it's started, give it 20 seconds to get a boost then switch it on.

Samsung SM-T230NU : Won't boot, keeps flashing boot logo

So, I have a Samsung SM-T230NU. When I tried to power it on, it flashed for a split second the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 logo and then went blank. I figured it was out of juice, so I plugged it in and let it charge for an hour or so.
When I came back, it was flashing and going dark.
I tried a different cable. As soon as power was applied, it flashed and went dark again.
Now, the boot logo is showing for an even briefer amount of time.
I am suspecting the battery or USB port. I don't have parts readily available to swap, however.
It may be worth adding, when I plug in the device, without touching any buttons, the screen starts flashing the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 boot logo. I would guess a stuck power button, but the power button travels freely. When I unplug the tablet from the computer, the flashing stops.
Trying to boot it with power + volume up garners no response from the device.
Any ideas?
Having same issue here
Tried hard reset, no dice.
Tried opening the back to see if I can identify some loose connection, didn't see anything funny. I am not an electrician.
My sister's having the same issue with her T230NU. It still boots (it'll boot to the Samsung splash, but then it flashes off the screen in half a second; this repeats every 7 seconds), but only if it's plugged directly to the wall charger. She let it sit overnight to charge, and it's still got this issue. I'm pretty sure her battery was drained when the issue started occurring last night, but it doesn't look like the battery has charged much (if at all) since then.

Galaxy Note 3 N9005 Charging, Power ON, boot loop issue

hello,
I got Galaxy Note 3 (N9005) just two months back from Ebay. It was working perfectly since today morning I charged to 86% and unplugged it usually using 2.0 cable to charge the device but now its not powering UP, tried to unplug the battery , sim for several minutes but still the same issue
After plugging the charger again its vibrating every 3-4 seconds and showing battery with grey color and O written inside it after it a wrecked line showing at different points that's crossing the screen just like screen is damaged or OS is boot loop
Trying to power on while the charger is plugged it just show Samsung NOTE 3 screen and sometimes samsung logo gets load with blue LED continuously onn again the battery charging issue
youtube: chvRbwgT9n8 or U5B2By7fGII
but it does not show green battery any more
since its not starting up and only shows activity when its plugged in USB/Wall charger , unable to use it. is there any resolution on this most of the Note 3 users are complaining about the same issue
tried to boot it in recovery mode and restart the device from there but still no success
this issue is occurring for the last 3 hours and i am really annoyed how to resolve this issue
tried USB 3.0 as well with laptop but no success even after 30 minutes
if the battery is drained it should start with the charger plugged in but it isnt starting any more.
**Update
plugged on wall charger
started the mobile with Volume Up+ Power + Home key
erased to factory reset
wipe cache
rebooted
now its passing the samsung logo , annimation and then white Samsung Logo blinking with colors and after that again same battery showing
no custom rom installed on stock version i think its 4.2.2
Could be the battery.

If you turn it off but with charger power on, is it got charged(based on the battery animation)?.
If it's charged you could try odin back the firmware but if battery is low, then don't as it could brick your phone if it dies during flashing.
Else try to clean the usb port and 3 pins at battery compartment.
Not sure whether this is hardware of software.
Even the switch could cause such problem.

not sure whether now my previous battery is dead or not
since after installed replacement battery its giving the same issue
sent for repair at a local service center, since out of warranty/ insurance
they are saying its unrepairable
The usb module on the phone is defective. Replace it.
But the phone is in dead state if not plugged in as the battery is showing 55% when installed on another set
I guess you're having this

**Update
It's for sure Hardware Issue, checked with different hardware persons and they all agree that its power IC issue that is why its displaying this behaviour
Also tried to load KitKat from Odin but Samsung Galaxy Note 3 logo flashes every 2 second after downloading is complete.

So Bricked S2 8" tab. Need help from the tech gods here.

I'm so bricked. I'll try to be brief.
I successfully rooted a 2 month old sm-t713 a few weeks ago. I was out flying my drone with the tablet attached to the remote control. The tablet was discharging battery life to the remote. I placed the tablet down for a minute to check on the drone that just landed and when I checked the tablet...well it was off. I tried power on immediately...I then tried hard reset. Nothing.
At home I tried multiple reset attempts and nothing. Also the tablet refused to charge when plugged in. I finally opened the back cover and disconnected the battery. I left it for an hour and then tried again.
Now it gets weird.
The tablet turned on and started to load the os... nougat. It got about 2 mins into the Android loading screen and then died.
I retried turning it on. Nothing happened. I plugged it in overnight and still nothing. I tried unplugging the battery again from the motherboard of the tablet for a few mins. When I retried powering it on again I got a 5 second glimpse of the Samsung tablet logo screen and dead again.
Now it's really really dead. I tried multiple attempts at reset and download mode and no life. The unplugging battery trick does not work anymore.
In desperation I bought a new battery and plugged it in but the tablet did NOT respond to that either.
So now I'm at a total loss. It's only a few months old and doubt Samsung will fix it under warranty.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what happened? And any way to fix it myself?
Help really appreciated. Thanks. I feel like a dolt.

It's obvious, but have you tried different chargers and cables?
When you put the new battery in was there any life at all?
The only reason I think the battery trick worked is because unplugging it allowed it to re-energize somewhat so it could power on when reconnected.
Now it's completely drained there's no power at all in it.
Same goes for plugging into the mains, no power getting to the board.
I suspect a possible faulty USB port.
Thank you for responding.
I did try the oem charger, my car charger, a 3d party wall charger and a 20000 mAh portable charger. Also multiple cables. I think the charging port is working because the portable charger flashes when actually charging a battery. It does not flash at all if plugged into a full battery. Somehow the tablet is being blocked from turning on.
Plus just today I did use a fully charged replacement battery to test the tablet though...my coworker has the same tablet and allowed me to remove his functioning one today...and that failed when i connected it to the Samsung. I even connected the battery from faulty Samsung to his tablet and his turned on immediately.
Argh.
try a "Samsung Jig" you can get them off ebay for about a quid!

Won't switch on, or off...

Hi all. my Samsung S7 Edge was working fine albeit a bit sluggish at times but it was okay. I was down to 14% charge and so connected it to its Samsung charger with a non stock cable which is its usual charging process. It was otherwise okay and the screen went off so it was completely black, the red charging LED came on and I left it like that for a little while. It is still in that precise state and no sequence of button pressing for any amount of time gets any response at all. Nothing, no vibrate, no charging indicator, no flicker - absolutely nothing changing. Red LED and blank screen, no response. I would like to discharge the battery asap and have clamped the Vol- and on/off button pressed for 20 minutes and it is not connected to anything. It is not rooted and there is no response if I connect it to a computer. Is it bricked? How can a phone 'brick' while working as it should?
So I removed the back, disconnected the battery for a minute or so and reconnected it. The red light had gone off and now nothing, no light at all and it is connected to the charger with the Samsung cable. I have tried a different charger - my laptop. I happen to have an unused battery I was going to replace this one with so I have now also tried another battery. The phone is just dead and no response at all so I guess there is only one option - bin it!
Well I happened to have a smashed S7 Edge so a working motherboard which I replaced and obviously cured it. Restoring as much as I can remember but can anyone still suggest anything I can do that may kick start this motherboard?
The same happened with my S7 Edge, yesterday. Just a blinking blue led and I couldn't turn it on. So I waited till the battery was empty and tried to recharge it. No red led no button combos are working, nothing. The phone is dead.
Was there an update?
