Just got my Nexus 7 and rooted it with the Mac Toolkit. I went into recovery, flashed liquidsmooth and now the device is stuck on the liquidsmooth animation screen. Please help, thanks
Try to flash the stock firmware back on there -- doesn't sound like a true brick maybe just a bootloop.

I was freaking out because I couldn't do anything. Miraculously, when I clicked lock bootloader in the Mac toolkit that did something that now makes it go through.
To be honest with you now though, all I want to do is go back to factory settings the way I got it. I've been freaked out enough. It was a lot easier doing this on my i9250. How do I unroot and get back to the way it was when I took it out of the box?
wipe data then reflash the rom. if it doesnt work, redownload the rom and reflash.

The directions for all platforms are essentially the same, IMHO the process tends to be more involved on Windows becuase of drivers, etc. Here's a link to the platform tools for mac - extract them to a useful place where you can get at them from terminal.
Once you've extracted the platform tools follow the instructions in this guide skipping the bits about Windows drivers... the important thing is that you understand the process; executing the process takes less than two minutes.
If you learn anything else from this experience it should be exactly what Pirateghost said:

Just Flashed wrong stock recovery (I Know so stupid) and was wondering if im screwed or might be able to fix it?
What do you mean by wrong stock recovery? Like one meant for a different device?

No problem. Doing it manually is always the way to go. As you can see, you dont really know whats happening when you use a toolkit. Plus you ended up learning a bit :good:

So, I think I've bricked my LS980. Was rooted runing the stock rom happily when I stupidly accepted a LG UIUU? update. Phone rebooted into TWRP recovery and thats all it will do. Didn't make a backup yet because as I alluded to earlier, I'm stupid. When I power off from TWRP it asks to Install Supersu to gain root yet that does nothing. When I boot into download mode it says rooted on the bottom. I have no idea where to go from here. Is there even an option? I'd love to go back to stock and never mention this again... Any idea? Sorry that I suck

Any way to block update requests on stock ROM when you have custom recoveries? That would be a good idea to prevent mishaps.

When you get ota and is ready to install just use root explorer or root browser and go into cache and delete the update....then click install an it will fail or do nothing and just cancel!

Unfortunately I think you'll probably need to revert to stock, then. Unless something has changed since I had to do this with my vs980, you will lose all data, but the good news is your phone won't be bricked anymore:

Hey cmm67 I don't know if this will help you but I was trying to get my phone back to stock a couple days ago and was having trouble. Mine would stay in download mode at 0% every time until I retried the instructions for the lgflashtool. I was extracting the file into the LG flash tool folder using Zipeg but once I tried 7zip it seemed to work. Once again sorry if this doesn't help at all I'm writing this from memory (hence being so vague about the instructions) and on my phone. Hope you get it fixed!

so my friend download an app and didn't read anything about it before he installed the app. The app was suppose to replace the home launcher but he was suppose to install another app before he installed it but he didn't. I have tried Odin, Kies, and Heimdall with no luck. I have tried them on different computers and with different cables. His phone is a SGH-I337, yes it is rooted but only for one app that was installed that doesn't affect anything. But now it only go to the download screen with the android man even when booted up normally it only fails the [auth] on Odin and it wouldn't even connect to Kies. Any help would be GREAT, he is only giving me 2 day to try and fix it for him then he is going to buy a new phone. Thanks in advance EVEN IF ITS JUST GUESS I'll still give it a try.
What app did you try to install and what firmware are you on. Odin should work if you use the right firmware.

I have compiled for you an Odin-Flashable downgrade to original Nougat ROM.
Does NOT have Google FRP in this version (the ROM came stock this way; unmodified), this is useful if you forgot your Google email.
Download Odin3 and the .tar file HERE
- Open Odin v3.12.7
- Plug in phone to PC
- Simply boot into download mode (Powered off- Hold HOME+POWER+VOLUME DOWN)
- Click AP
- Select J327T1.tar
- Click Start
Once it finished it will reboot and update. It is going to get stuck on 32%, do not worry.
It will take a second, but the recovery menu will pop up. Select Reboot System and it will take some time to get to the OS but you will eventually have Nougat pop up and ready to go!
Enjoy!
*UPDATE*
In the download links I have the "Factory Binary" Custom ROM. It's pretty useful in messing with the phone software, although I do not know the specific use. Use the same method above to install the ROM.
Also, I do believe you can edit the .tar and add TWRP by downloading the recovery.img from my link and replacing it in the .tar and following the same steps. I have not tested because I was helping my brother access his phone because he forgot his Google account after he reset his phone.

Good ish' Brad, now hopefully someone will get twrp and I'll cough up the money for another cheap t1
Ok so its not truly the factory binary, its an emulator of that, meaning any changes were not flashed over as in other devices. but i have been thinking and, i'll post this in the original as well, magisk....only works if you completely wipe the device first, same with custom roms, i never tried that when i had the j3, bricks be damned we got odin3 and i got scripts to get outta brick an into download.
if someone would be ao kind as to factory reset and tr installing twrp, that wuld be amazing, i have been working with the note 4 sprint variant and there are a few steps in installng custom roms that we were over looking

Only way I can help you is by telling you go buy yourself a PC if you're going to start routing and or developing the firmware on Android devices it is extremely hard nearly impossible these days with Android devices running version Android 6.0 and up to root without a PC the best and easiest way I've found to root a Android device is to First install a custom recovery like TWR p or ClockworkMod and have a unlocked bootloader then from there you can easily download SuperSU and Flash it with a firmware flashing application like ClockworkMod ROM manager that is downloadable on Play Store what I'm trying to say is if you are using kingroot or kingoroot you're going to be hitting that button 4 million years and nothing will happen either by an Android that has a lower version like any version below 5.0 or get yourself a computer and do some research because it is very easy to do the stuff as long as you know what you're doing if you don't it seems way more complicated than it actually is you're in the right place here on XDA to learn everything you need to know so you're off to a great start I hope this helps have a good one good luck
So is there no way we can downgrade further to a firmware that includes the developer option to oem unlock?... I'm about to try and flash what the op posted right now... I'll post results
