http://www.unrevoked.com/. Read ALL the way through, then download and follow the directions exactly. Also you will probably need to install the correct driver on your PC, which is also provided by unrevoked.

I think the intention of this thread is: Are there any Galaxy Note enthusiasts who happen to be developers intending on Rooting it.
Obviously no one has been able to root it yet..
I also like to root the thing after open the box also

Chainfire or Superoneklick ...
my opinion: superoneclick seems saver to me. saver=no damage.
Sorry, but I can't understand if installin SuperUser app means to unroot the device.
Is it a normal app one can install with a plain OS?

im not sure, but when i understand the theard from superoneclick, there is nothing what can damage the hardware.. the root will work or not.. is that right? and the other question, how to make a save from my device if something goes wrong? i think to get it in the download mode shouldnt be a problem, i have the usb jig from s2 and i will try it out befor start whit root.. but how to get my original rom extracted and if necessary how to restore it?
you cant extract. you have to flash another firmware.
there is one to download but... will odin work? ^^

Go to Samsung s2 forums for more info on rooting or else you can point the source code to chainfire i(n his cf-root thread) if he has time he will definately do it. But don't forget to donate him or whoever does it.

First off im not a noob. i have/had a nexus s; captivate, att sgs2 all rooted flashed and the sort. my wifes atrix 4g is a mystery. it could be because i havent spent as much time with it as the other phones but anyway heres the prob: when she got her phone it was running either 2.2 or 2.2.xx cant remember but i rooted it using gingerbreak. then she did the gingerbread update on top of the root. here is the problem. the phone still has the supersuser app and looks like its rooted but its not. how do i remove all of the the components of the root then reroot? theres nothing wrong with the phone it works fine no problems whatsoever. a lil info any advanced users could use: system version 4.5.91.mb860.att.en.us running 2.3.4 kernel 2.6.32.9-00001-g41bc3e0 [email protected]#2 build# 4.5.91
any help will be appreciated. ill try to check this tread as often as i can. we just had a newborn 3 weeks ago and a 2yr old running around as well as working full time. feel free to send a pm with any question r possible solutions. thx

What makes you think its not rooted?
In any case, try "re-rooting" using the info in this thread.
Any app that requires root permissions says its not rooted. ill try that and see what happens. thx

Just got my Nexus 7 and rooted it with the Mac Toolkit. I went into recovery, flashed liquidsmooth and now the device is stuck on the liquidsmooth animation screen. Please help, thanks
Try to flash the stock firmware back on there -- doesn't sound like a true brick maybe just a bootloop.

I was freaking out because I couldn't do anything. Miraculously, when I clicked lock bootloader in the Mac toolkit that did something that now makes it go through.
To be honest with you now though, all I want to do is go back to factory settings the way I got it. I've been freaked out enough. It was a lot easier doing this on my i9250. How do I unroot and get back to the way it was when I took it out of the box?
wipe data then reflash the rom. if it doesnt work, redownload the rom and reflash.

The directions for all platforms are essentially the same, IMHO the process tends to be more involved on Windows becuase of drivers, etc. Here's a link to the platform tools for mac - extract them to a useful place where you can get at them from terminal.
Once you've extracted the platform tools follow the instructions in this guide skipping the bits about Windows drivers... the important thing is that you understand the process; executing the process takes less than two minutes.
If you learn anything else from this experience it should be exactly what Pirateghost said:

I rooted my phone before, but when I had my phone repaired (because it was stuck on Huawei logo).
Then, I cannot root my phone. I used SuperOneClick and it is stopped at step #7 (waiting for device)...
Superboot did not work either.
Thanks for help!

Its the ONLY way to root an LG G3 with a Mac. I've searched XDA Forums and have NO LUCK finding a step by step guide. Another XDA member said I was SOL because I have a Mac.

I have a mac also, you just need to use bootcamp or any virtualisation software to run windows and you're good to go (it worked for me with bootcamp).

I'm not an Apple fan either. Just sick of Windows problems.
Do not buy from this site. It is a ripoff. They advertise a product they don't give you and advertise 24/7 support...WHAT A JOKE...they ignore you. I had to contact my credit card company and have the charge reversed.
I am having the same problem; I am reporting them as fraudulent.
