Networking XDA II to PC via BT

I've had a dig around a few sites etc, and cant find a guide on how to network my XDA II to my PC via BT.
I can browse the internet and activesync by means of BT.
I have played around with bluetoothgps but it then interferes with my headset and tomtom gps, and also doesnt show icon for network access in the guide.
Any help appreciated thanks
Oh BTW i am using a Conceptronic CBTU BT dongle
ROM 1.72 radio 1.14 etc etc
try http://www.geekzone.co.nz/content.asp?contentid=449
Try to install WIDCOMM BT stack. 59 build contains network access profile.
It can only be done ising the widcomm stack at the moment - get that first, Then it took me days to get it working.
If your home PC is running a network already (more than 1 PC) you may have to change your network config.
(The BT link prefers to use the ip addresses 192.168.0.1) so if you are using a network built by MS-network wizard to share internet connections you will have a problem, as the netwoek wizard insists on using the ip address mentioned above.
If you only have 1 PC then it should be relatively easy:
On your pc (with widcomm drivers( you will get e virtual network card - this is the BLuetoth port on the pc. set the IP address as you do on any network card.
On the XDA in connections - advanced, you will find a Bluetooth PAN driver this is the virtual network card for the bluetooth on the XDA, set th ip address here. THe two should then be able to connect.
PAN driver
When I come to Connections/Advanced/Network Card then I have only:
NE2000 Compatible Ethernet Driver
L2TP NDISWAN Miniport
AsyncMac NDISWAN Miniport
PPTP NDISWAN Miniport
why I dont see BT PAN driver?
My ROM v.1.60.00WWE
PAN driver
When I come to Connections/Advanced/Network Card then I have only:
NE2000 Compatible Ethernet Driver
L2TP NDISWAN Miniport
AsyncMac NDISWAN Miniport
PPTP NDISWAN Miniport
why I dont see BT PAN driver?
My ROM v.1.60.00WWE
thanks for replies, going to tinker with it later
Ivan, You need to install bluetoothgps first
Re: PAN driver

Click to collapse
The PAN driver is installed when you install the Widcomm stack (I think) - do you have the Widcommm stack installed?

Bluetoth woes

I have a MSI PC2PC BT USB adapter
Until SP2 went on it worked fine using the oldest set of drivers. I could even Activesync over BT
Now after SP2 and MS installed its own BT software, BT seemed to work when i got the new drivers from MSI but i couldnt ActiveSync.
I tried to go back to using the old drivers and using MS article 883258:
How to troubleshoot Bluetooth detection and connectivity problems in Windows XP Service Pack 2
i deleted the key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{e0cbf06c-cd8b-4647-bb8a-263b43f0f974}
This seems to have screwed up BT altogether as my BT adapter is detected but Windows complains about missing information in an .inf file and I cant install drivers now.
Anyone got the PC2PC adaper to work
If not has anyone got another make/model of BT Adapter that works with Activesync?
Thanks
Doug

internet using bluetooth over xda II mini

hello,
how do i use serial port profile on xda II mini to connect it at my bluetooth internet shares? xda II mini support spp (serial port profile) but as i tick on 'outgoing/incoming port' on it remains BLANK. The only thing it could do is bluetooth pairing...
my bluesoleil is working fine on symbian phones on internet connection but this w/c i expect to be much easier turns out the opposite.
wbr,
if your profile support PAN then
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=InternetOverBluetoothNetwork
otherwise if you are connected to activesync over bluetooth you have
the same network access as the pc unless you turned it off
thanks for reply and info, but xda II mini seems to miss out BLUETOOTH PAN USER DRIVER (under start -> settings -> connections -> network cards).
the only available are:
NE2000 Compatible ethernet driver
L2TP NDISWAN miniport
AsyncMac NDISWAN miniport
PPTP NDISWAN miniport
another problem is im using a client machine behind XP ICS host, setting another ICS on client xp machine will now use the same 192.168.0.1 ip, my other option is to set the bluetooth PAN on the host. Any other ideas?
wbr,
using xda activesync is also a problem, whenever i click on 'activesync' -> 'connect using bluetooth', nothing happens. but click on the 'connect using IR' it looks for a host... i read somewhere that removing bluetooth pairs will help but no luck.
sorry, im quite new on xda's
wbr,
p.s. im using xp sp2
"y other option is to set the bluetooth PAN on the host."
if your pda dont have PAN then doing anything with PAN on the pc will result in nothing in related to your pda
http://www.geekzone.co.nz/content.asp?contentid=449
== all the guides you could wish for for setting up activesync using bluetooth
it may be an easier option to use wifi or wifi adhoc
if your pda dont have wifi you can buy an SDIO card which have wifi
if you get bluesoleil on your mini then you can use pan and spp works as well

iPAQ h3950 and networking fun ;)

Hi there!
I have a iPAQ h3950 with Windows Mobile 2003 (Yes, i know, pretty old, but i am working on build a newer firmware for my device, if you have hints, hit me)
I also have a PCMCIA sleeve for my iPAQ.
I want to connect the iPAQ to my wireless LAN or via Cable to my LAN.
I have diffrent PC Cards in my collection, e.g. a gbit digitus card (with realtek drivers)
a Proxim Orinoco 8470 Gold with atheros chipset
a 3com 3ccfe575ct-d
and a 3com 3ccfe575ct
Somewhere I have another 3com card with a different chipset.
My problem now is, that I dont find any drivers for any of these cards.
First of all, most interesting for me would be a wireless LAN card for that device, but also wired LAN. If anyone suggest another card, that should run, then I'll have a look at it, but at first I would like to use, what I already have.
I want to use the iPAQ for configuring network devices, without the need for my laptop. I also own a serial cable for the device, so I can connect it to console ports of my devices.
One further thing I need is a Software that is xmodem compatible for my device, so I can flash devices right through the serial connection in the bootloader. (e.g. Linksys WRT54GL oder a Fonera via self made console cable)
I hope, that anyone can help me with my questions. As the Soft and hardware is old, it is hard to find working links on the net.
Thank you in advance for your help

OBD2 - Wifi Dongle with LOS15.1

Hey guys,
I have a little problem. I ordered an OBD2 Wifi Dongle for reading fault codes of my car. I chose a Wifi adapter because some of my family members are iOS users so they can use it, too.
The dongle is working fine, connected it with my windows tablet and could read the fault codes of my ford mondeo.
With my device (htc one m9 running LOS15.1) I can connect the wifi to the dongle but I can't get connection to the specific port.
The default address and port is 192.168.0.10:35000. I can ping the adapter but even a port check on my device does not work.
I've read something about, that android can't connect/handle ad-hoc networks correctly? Is this still a problem in android 8.1?
I already tried to give my phone a static address but no success.
Do you have an idea what I need to change/edit or what I can do?
Thank you
Regards,
Dominic
