I'm using a wifi adapter on my Xbox and using the hot spot on cyanogen 6 to tether it. It says the Nat is modarate and needs open. How u do this?

Is this possible?I'm connecting to Xbox live and can do everything except join a game in call of duty.

Wow.. I wouldn't even have thought about trying to run Xbox live through the Aria's tethering! Good for you! Now getting open NAT will probably be difficult, because usually it's a setting in the router that needs to be changed, but in your case the router is your Aria.
There's a video on this site showing how to set up Xbox Live using your Android Phone, but they use PDA Net and run the connection from the phone to a PC and then to the Xbox. It's 13 minutes and I didn't want to watch the whole thing to see if it addresses NAT, but it might be worth a view.

...and another one. Also using the PC in-between.

I had PDA net but laptop broke so this is my only way is wifi tether. I actually can pick up my neighbors wifi but only when he is there. I dunno if it has some kinda idle mode or what.

So no way to fix Nat settings?

Does anyone know of a good torrent client that I could use on my phone?
EZTVDroid has one of its own, but I use tTorrent, which allows you to manage the torrent downloads directly to your SDCard. Hope you are on wifi or unlimited.
Ok i will check that one out. Atorrent doesn't work for things already on my sdcard and swarm kills my phone
I have wondered why anyone would want to use a torrent client on their phone. I personally use a remote torrent controller that controls utorrent on my pc named Transdroid. That way I can start downloads from my phone, and not bog it down or have Verizon question any high data usage.
I am not trying to say anyone is wrong for using a torrent client on their phone, I would just like to know why.

I kind of agree with you, the only reason I can think of is that they don't have an alternate Internet provider. The only other reason I can think of is that they don't have a PC and only use their phone (I had a GF like that once).
I know that I have spent a few weeks at a time away from home with no other Internet than my phone, so that is my guess.
I hadn't thought to use it to torrent though
Yes, you are right. It's two things, a "control issue" and a "pc thing".
My linux box does the majority of my torrents, but I also travel a lot and want slightly more control to manipulate the torrent on my phone itself, which is also transferable to my linux box when I get home

You can do what I do. I add/start/pause/etc. Torrents from my phone remotely using Transdroid and they download onto my computer which saves battery, data and more. Then if I am out of town and need something I torrented, I download it from the computer to my phone using my FTP server. It's really quick for smaller files and if I have a large amount, I let it transfer overnight when my phone is plugged in. Then you also have access to all files, not just those you torrented.

Perhaps someone should give this person links/options to "remote" versions since there is an alternate to what I use/do.

And an FTP server is easy as hell to set up and use and requires minimal CPU power.

TRANSDROID lol.
Gives remote access. We mentioned this more than once

I posted my second comment about someone suggesting something to that person at the same time you posted about the transdroid. They crossed each other in the ether world

Hey JMoney. I did some looking. There is a torrent client that allows you to download TO your phone. Its called Swarm Torrent Client. I costs $4.99 but I'm sure you can find the apk somewhere.

I actually did find swarm, but it caused my phone to reboot whenever I tried to start a torrent.
The reason I don't use something like transdroid is that my phone is currently my only Internet, as I tether to my computer to get Internet.
aDownloader (free in marketplace)
aDownloader is a native bit torrent (bittorrent) downloader for Android phones. You may search online torrent and or add torrent from local sdcard.
It is free in the marketplace but I cannot post a link due to the rules on XDA.

I no longer use swarm. Want my $ back as the dev has not updated the app to compete with new clients. It has a limited number of peers and VERY slow download rates. Not to mention a men leak that leaves ur phone really sluggish. TTorrent Full or adownloader are the two best at the moment. I recommended using torrentfu to remotely download to ur home PC instead.

i am looking for an app that will capture WIFI activity from my own wifi network. It is password protected and I connect to it. I would like to monitor all other Laptops, cell phones..etc that use my network.
And would it be possible to read the http URL's and capture key stokes or User ID and Passwords if they log into a site (i.e Gmail)?
Thanks
You wont be able to sniff out Gmail passwords or any sites where passwords are sent via HTTPS. Just for the reason you state.

If you're trying to sniff out your kid's emails why don't you just talk to them instead?
And why is this in the Vibrant forums?
There might be an app for your computer, i don't think there's one for android.

Or hes using an open, security-less, MobileAP at a coffee shop and trying to steal other peoples stuff when they log onto his network
if I have a neighbor who have a wireless connection but not secured. Am I allowed to use it?

I have it running on several 1and1 servers for several customers.

I have done this on a PC using the hotspot shield vpn.... Decide to see if there was a hotspot shield VPN app for nexus 7...
Good news and bad news... There is an app, but not compatible with the device...
I tried a few VPN apps and it masks my IP when browsing... But when I launch my watchespn app, and try to view my game it still says it is blacked out...
Since the folks at xda-developers are some of the sharpest people on the Internet, I am hoping someone is willing to share their knowledge...
Thanks
Ez
