Hi folks,
I flashed a stock Google 4.2 rom (nakasi-jop40c-factory-6aabb391.tar) using TWRM which worked flawlessly. I then downloaded Franco's kernel updater and followed the instructions which told me my device was supported. I then flashed his r25 (I think) and since then when I boot up the tablet gets past the Google splash screen but stalls on the colourful X for ever.
When I boot into recovery I get the android bot on its back with the red cross. I can then hold Power and Vol up to reset to factory with no success and I've also tried sideloading a stock rom but that fails as well.
Any help would be much appreciated
Cheers
Seamus
You must use r30 it's for 4.2

Hi Nico,
Thanks for the reply. I've just downloaded Franco's app again from the Play Store and when I go to the download page in the app it tells me that the latest stable version is still r25. Where do I get hold of the r30 you mention?
Cheers

My friend bought an Arc day before, He was running 2.3.2 but flashed a root image for 2.3.4, his phone was stuck on the Sony erricson boot screen. He tried flashing a firmware after that using flashtool, the flash stopped at loader and gave an error, now his phone is not showing anything on the screen, it only gives a short vibration on pressing the power button, how do we bring it back to life?? :-/ Please help!! :-(

Nothing else to do than try flashing one of the images/kernels using fastboot.
I screwed my Arc S up and it display the same issues as your friends Arc.
I recommend trying to flash using Wotanserver. It cleared my problems.
Select repair in SEUS to bring it back to a std config to begin with.

That's the problem, You should have first flash the ftf then rooted image. Try to flash the Kernel (DoomKernel) then flash one of the stock based custom ROM.
These are the ones:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1325640
or

I would recommend arconium 1.1 because I found it has less effect on battery.

I know, I know...a useless thread. But I can't control my excitement!
Updated my Nexus S i9023 to 4.0.4 OTA provided by Google.
My first impression: Noticeably faster!
Going to cover everything in points:
1. The time lag between clicking & opening menu items is now negligible, just like Gingerbread.
2. The camera from lockscreen loads up faster.
3. The rotation animation is faster.
4. Battery bug is fixed!
5. 3D apps load up faster...
6. Overall a faster & better update by Google.
7. I think Ice Cream Sandwich was not finished until December, but now it feels a finished/polished product.
Pros:
Animations faster
Whole UI is noticeably smoother
Cons:
Launcher still lags
Kernel is updated, but the version is still old.
Old GB sounds
Want to update?
1. Make sure you are on Stock 4.0.3 and you haven't changed anything in the system. If you have...don't worry...flash the 4.0.3 ROM again from here.
2. Download 4.0.4 IMM76D from here.
The OTA package is around 17MB.
3. Boot into CWM. Flash the 4.0.4, Reboot and you are good to go.
Update: The ROM is rootable, download this zip and flash in CWM to root.
You'll surely feel the difference.
Some snips coming soon.

Is there a way of getting this on the i9020a, specifically for Koodo (Telus)?
Since its an update to 4.0.3, would I have to flash that first and then flash this update?
I read in a different thread that I could flash 4.0.3 and then flash an i9020a radio to get the official ROM working.

Easiest method would be to dirty flash whatever rom you're running.
Edit: also, only need power + volume down to boot into bootloader. Holding the power button for 10 seconds will hard reboot your phone.
Truth be told, I just hold power for 10 seconds, then just hold volume down before it gets to the Google logo.

That's for 4.2.2, so if you're on 4.3 it may not help. Failing that, try reflashing Franco's kernel?

Hey there how are you, I recently bought a I9505 version Galaxy s4 and have rooted it.
I just flashed a custom recovery through odin... apparently.... But I cannot actually boot into a recovery? Is there something wrong?
Also when I try some blue writing comes up..... Thanks
When you have powered off your phone, hold in the power button + home button + volume up button until you see the blue text in the top right corner that says 'booting recovery...' then let go of all the buttons and it should boot into your recovery. I remember when I first got the device I kept holding in the buttons for either too long or too little (I was used to the Galaxy S2). Hope this helps.

Hello guys. I know people have been wanting custom ROMs for this device. I cannot give that, but I can give a modded stock ROM with Shaky156's kernel and touchscreen fix for android 4.4.2. It comes rooted, with OTA disabled(so no need to worry about receiving any updates. IF you do get OTA, let me know and I will fix it. It is a flashable zip for CWM/TWRP.
Install Instructions:
Boot into Recovery(TWRP/CWM)
Do a Factory Reset
Flash ROM
Reboot and Profit

I will try to keep this as updated as possible, may not happen but I will try.
Many thanks!
