"Connection to PC" issue

Hey guys, I have the following problem:
When I connect the plug the USB cable into my PC there is no notification neither on my Legend, nor on the PC. The phones starts to charge but that's all. I can't change the type of connection and it appears to be set on Charge only because i can't access the sd card from PC. When I try to select Disk drive for example nothing happens. And the "Ask me" box is checked. So if anyone has an idea how to fix this I'll be very greatful.

This happens to me from time to time as well.
Rebooting the phone helps (most of the time )

Rebooting or switching USB debugging doesn't help in my case. Receiving files via bluetooth doesn't work either. I'm running Rodriguezstyle 2.3. Any help would be appreciated, thanks...

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but this has just started happening to me. I'm using B 0.7, and when I plug the phone into the PC it just acts as if it is plugged into the charger. Rebooting doesn't fix it.
Never mind, restarting the PC twice fixed it.

Is ur phone roofed. Rooting generally causes this.

Yeah, and I'm using BlaY0's ROM. Doesn't matter anymore, restarting the PC twice did the trick, hopefully it won't crop up too often.

CM7 V7 USB Storage will not connect

I am using cm7 V7 ( 4/10/2011) with a Macbook Air running 10.6.7
Running Netarachy 1.3.0.2 BFS+
I can not connect the USB storage to the computer.
When I connect the USB cable to the computer and select turn on USB storage. It says USB storage in use but the Phone never shows up as a Portable hardrive. Sometimes on the phone the screen will flash and it will automatically turn off the USB storage screen. Go from the orange android dude to the green one.
I have tried restarting the computer and the phone several times. No Luck
Any suggestions to a fix ?

I had this problem with my 15" macbookpro. I was using cm7 nightly #26.
I tried a different usb cable & port, & wiped cache on my phone. That worked for me.

[Q] Synergy rc2+godmode no disk drive connect

so i just flashed synergys rc2+godmode to my htc evo 4g now my phone wont connect to disk drive iv tried multiple computer on multiple usb slots and toggled debug mode does anyone else have the same issue and if so have you found a solution

I had the same problem with Synergys rc2. Will not read SD card or connect to my PC. Sux that I can't get to my back-up. Volume down, power button results in it turning on and off with five quick vibrations then I must pull the battery to try anything. SD card reads fine in multiple devices so not the problem. Tried four SD cards in the phone but they will not mount. Btw this happened within one hour of flashing the rom. Hopefully others are having better luck. Luck of the draw i guess.

tried other cables to maybe ill just wipe and reflash thanks though

Fixed.. bad file... download Rom again wipe all and flash again perhaps I forgot to wipe dalvik or something.. wirednxj maybe you should try the same

It just takes a while to be recognized sometimes... Plug it in, enable disk drive, browes the internet for 5 minutes or until recognized. see if that works

U8800 Dead !

Hi .. Yesterday i've bought a u8800 ... I installed 2.3.5 update and rooted it and installed cwm then aura ics And it worked fine .. I tried to reboo t into recovery but the phone stoped working ! i tried to connect it with Usb caple and the charger but Its dead ! Doesnt Recognize even on pc ! any help ?!

What is the complete model of the phone? I'm guessing that you installed Gingerbread intended for a U8800Pro onto a U8800-51. Will the phone boot to a purple screen (both volume buttons + switch)?

Have you tried removing the battery and connecting the phone to a charger (without the battery) and see if anything happens? Or maybe you ran out of battery and your charger is defected? :cyclops:

Well, it happen to me also two weeks ago.If you want to know if bricked or no you can connect it with the charger via usb. (No to pc)). If start charging you it's not bricked, otherwise(... ).
-To be absolutely sure you can try connect it to pc running Linux. If os recognize the mobile HD partition you can do many things.
-At last you can use jit usb. If you don't now what's jit forget it. Look for warranty.

Try connecting USB cable from PC to your phone with out battery....

USB not detected by PC

Dear friends,
Recently I damaged by USB port. So, I sent my phone for repairing at Samsung Servicing Centre where they replaced my USB port. After they replaced my USB port, my phone is not detected by PC anymore. Nothing happens at all if I connect my phone to a PC. There is no notification at all. My phone is only charging. I tried pulling up and down the tongue - like structure inside my USB port but it's of no use at all. I am at a delimma. Please help.

repairs are usually covered by warranty upon the same issue incase they were unable to fix it.
take it back to them and demand to resolve the issue,
you paid good money for the repair and therefore should be entitled to it

maybe u haven't installed samsung usb drivers

the same problem with mine., i just changed my usb chord after that i cannot connect to usb mass storage anymore even i installed usb driver still can't access storage

here's what i do when that happens:
(1) re-install drivers
(2) reboot pc and also cp
(3) connect chord and wait till the pc auto installs the drivers
(4) press "ok" connect phone storage
ps: also try to straighten the chord and flex it a bit. hehe

I have installed Samsung Galaxy Y USB Drivers on my PC.

I didn't trust them anymore bro. They know little about software. They flatly told me that my USB was blocked.

The main problem is that it is not even detected by my PC as connected. There is no notification of the phone being connected at all both in PC and phone. Can this be due to the USB cable that I am using? Or is the new USB port incompatible with my phone? Will reflashing the Rom solve the problem? The Samsung Servicing Centre fellows have no solution at all. They simply said that it is a software problem because I am on a custom Rom and that my USB is blocked. I don't think USB port can get blocked because of flashing a custom Rom because it was working fine before the repair. Please please please help me.

this also happens to me sometimes and ive already given you my own solution to this
if your phone is charging when you connect to the pc..
it means the chord is maybe working..
try to tighten the usb chord connector to the usb socket of your pc..
are you sure you are using the right drivers?? kindly check or use the kies cd
be patient and wait for the phone drivers to be automatically installed by the pc when you connect the phone fr the 1st time..
try turning off you anti-virus.. (not related but....)

There are charge only cables that do not data connect. If it is trickle charging the phone that is the problem. But you say there is no indication of a connection; sorry I just kinda jumped in at random. Your post popped up in the new posts list.

Are ur usb ports properly functioning ? ie pendrive or other are working properly ?
also is your usb cable working ? if possible you can try with your friends usb cable which can go in your phones port .
if nothing works flash stock rom again

I am using the latest Samsung USB drivers for mobile phones. My phone is only charging. No notification nor sound of connection to PC.

Pen drives are working properly. I don't think its the cable because it is the original USB cable provided with the phone. I have tried with other USB cables but same result. Will flashing stock Rom really solve the problem? I can't flash stock Rom because I can't connect to Odin boy longer.

I am using the USB cable supplied with the phone. It was working flawlessly before.

if its charging and pendrive is working then we can eliminate hardware issues
now for software its either pc or mobile
try connecting with another pc . it it doesn't work then its not pc problem
all I can say is flash stock rom then

How will I flash stock Rom when USB is not working? Or is there a flashable zip of Stock Rom available?
