[Q] WiFi calling and Bluetooth - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Does anyone have WIFI calling working with Bluetooth on HD2. I have read through the Tytung's Wifi calling thread twice and other assorted threads related to the ROMs I have tried to see if anyone has any suggestions on this. The Wifi calling app works great, but when I try to answer or make a call on bluetooth the bluetooth headset beeps like a call is connected, but there is no voice directed to it as far as I can tell. Also, when I try to use bluetooth with a WiFi call, I get Process com.android.phone is not responding. Then the phone is locked up and needs to be rebbooted for wifi calling to work properly again. It is better on tytung 2.6.32.15_tytung_gb_r16. I also tried Tytung's ICS kernal and WiFi calling was flakier. It seems to work better on GB. I am using Magloader and ClockWork Mod. I wiped all cache's, davlik, did factory reset. None seem to make it any better. I was wondering of the HD2 just cannot do that many radio things at the same time. Any have this working? I really need Wifi Calling as I am in Peru, but am a TMobile USA customer and the international calling is crazy.
Thank you,
Jay

I flashed the RoyalMIUI rom however couldn't get wifi calling to work. i know about the issue were is FC's when you first turn on wifi and you have to pull the battery out. but i've yet to see a real answer to the actual wifi calling. can someone please help!!!
thanks.
I think I read somewhere on that roms page that wifi calling doesn't work with that rom but I'm not sure

I appreciate the response from both of you. I just wanted to verify if it worked or not. The roms awesome other no wifi calling feather.
The rom has voip its build in gingerbread since gingerbread has built in sip intergration which is more of a true wifi calling. The wifi calling app for tmobile isn't really wifi calling.

ok cool. thanks. i'll try that. do you know of any issues with bluetooth? i normally sync my phone to my car (for obvious reasons). however, with this rom i did and i couldn't hear the person i was calling. i could answer but thats about it.

I not sure don't have a bluetooth headset to find out if it does work. Only thing is try a different kernel. See if bluetooth is working with out syncing with the car first.

Android Build with Wi-Fi calling?

Does anyone know of any specific Android build than enables me to make phone calls through wi-fi without using an app like skype. Just regular old T-Mobile wi-fi calling.

Hi,
Skype works well for me on wifi and data.
What's the problem?

All builds with tytung r10 kernel support T-Mous wifi calling.
I just installed NexusHD2-Gingerbread V2.7 [GRJ22/Android2.3.4][Kernel:tytung_r10]
last night and it still wouldn't let me dial out through wi-fi. I don't want skype because t-mobile offers it as a free service. I just live in an area where T-Mobile doesn't have coverage and want to use wi-fi as a way to make my normal phone calls. I want to call nationally and not pay additional or get a different number for an app like skype or some of the others. That one had tytung r10 but still wouldn't work. Any other ideas?
SO ANYONE?

The only one working on T-Mobile wifi calling is tytung without being a T-Mobile user himself.
I would suggest start reading this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1038784
All ROMs with tytung r10 kernel have enabled the wifi calling function.
I am not a T-Mobile user and i don't know what is needed for wifi calling to work but i suspect you need an app to enable that function.
Check the picture of the 1st post of the link i provided.
I appreciate it. I checked it out. I don't think it is fully functional yet but it seems like some good people are on it. It actually normally doesn't use an app. Once wi-fi is connected it just routes your calls through the router using a service called UMA.

Busybox is breaking Wi-Fi Calling

I've seen people with this same issue and I am sure Busybox is the culprit. Just tried installing to a variety of paths like /system/bin and /su/bin and it still breaks Wifi calling. You may ask yourself how I can be so sure this this is the cause. I uninstalled Busybox and immediately Wifi calling was working again.

How are you testing to make sure its a WiFi call? Are you turning on airplane mode while on WiFi? That ensures all radios are off except WiFi.
Also what do you mean its not working? What happens? Do you get an error message? Does it make a noise? Does it do a song and dance instead? (Kidding)
The more details you give the more likely someone will be able to help.

You're right, my bad. Well, underneath the mobile data toggle in quick settings, it switches to "T-Mobile Wi-Fi Calling" when it's active, and just T-Mobile whenever else. Almost immediately as I remove Busybox, Wi-Fi calling returns. Phone calls also display if it's calling using wi-fi.

No problem, but still I don't know what you mean by it does not work. When trying to call does it say the call is connected or call failed or some other error or what?
Honestly I'm not really sure what the problem or fix is since I'm not super experienced with busy box or unix commands myself. I believe you can manually choose which utilities busy box installs. So the best thing to do first is to narrow down which specific Unix utilities in busy box that might be causing this. Install 1 of the utility in busy box and try to WiFi call, then repeat until wifi calling stops working again. Then come back and report which one it was that breaks WiFi calling.
Can anyone else test this?
Just tested your theory and my WiFi calling still works. Even rebooted in between uninstalling and installing busy box. Was curious because as soon as I read this thread I tested and saw my WiFi calling was not working so I decided to test your theory.. I uninstalled busy box and it still was not working. I rebooted my phone and WiFi calling was working again. I installed busy box and WiFi calling still working. I rebooted again and busy box still installed and WiFi calling still working. Hope this helps.

Wifi calling - inconsistent with 8.1 Oreo - T-Mobile

I'm finding that WiFi calling stops working randomly. A reboot gets it to work properly again. I have my advanced call settings on Global and Wifi Preferred as my option.
Anyone else having this issue with Oreo 8.1 and T-Mobile?

I've had this issue since I upgraded to 8.1. I've been planning on doing a factory reset to see if it fixes the problem, but I really don't want to go through the hassle of setting everything up again.
I have no cell signal at my desk at work, so I use the WiFi calling often. However, I have noticed something rather strange. If I try to make a call or send a text, it will sometimes say something like "No WiFi network available". There have been a few times after it has done this that I have received a call on WiFi, and then it will work fine for a while. Otherwise, a restart fixes it.

Another thing that I noticed is that when on Wi-Fi calling, sometimes the phone will only ring once before a call goes to voicemail. Seems like there may be a delay in the call coming through. I generally have a good Wi-Fi connection, but like any Wi-Fi connection, it can come in and out occasionally.
I want to avoid a factory data reset as well.
I have the same problem Essential on Sprint
I am also experiencing this since the 8.1 upgrade, 8n T-mobile. Multiple networks that had WiFi calling pre-update are no longer functioning on either of our phones(wife and I both have them). I often work in a basement, so this is an important function for me.

T-Mobile WiFi Calling: MMS working on OP6T?

Edit: Oops, incorrect forum. Mods, please move if this is an issue. (Meant to be in OP6T)
Anyone else completely reliant on WiFi calling at home (zero signal / no data) able to send and receive MMS? They fail for me over WiFi calling, work flawlessly once I'm at work utilizing data (possibly ruling out APN issues)
Additionally, MMS send/receive work great on my wife's iPhone 7, and they worked perfectly fine on my OP5T until the Oreo update (at which point, that phone had stopped being able to send/receive MMS over Wifi Calling as well.) Anyone know any tricks to getting this to operate? The only alternative I have is to tell people to send picture messages / group messages to my Google Voice number.
Items tried:
Tried creating alternate APN that has more APN types
Tried activating the SIM that came in the box, as the one I was using was from my OP3T forever ago.
Tried using Google Messages as opposed to the stock SMS app
Tried using Signal (which works fine if the other end is also utilizing Signal - 99% of my contacts, however, are not.)
T-Mobile support seems to be completely blind to any issues with this, so just seeing if anyone else has a similar experience.
I have the unlocked OnePlus 6, I'm on T-Mobile and WiFi calling and texting works.
I had one instance that it wasn't working (I noticed the VoLTE icon was gone). To get it to work again, I had to reset Network settings (settings>system>reset options>reset WiFi, mobile and Bluetooth).
Presto!!
Try it out.
After this I turned airplane mode on, connected to WiFi and made calls and sent texts just fine.
Good luck
Does it work on any network?
Mine connects at home with internet and wifi calling. Works at a friends house too.
At my office it connects to the network and all functions normal except no wifi calling or sms.
My Galaxy S8 works with wifi calling at home, friends, AND at work.

We had this issue.. It was blocking some ports... thankfully someone who knew more than I did was able to work with them to whitelist the needed port thru the firewall. I admit that seems inconsistent with the S8 working @ your work.. but still worth following up with your IT.
What version of the 6t do you have? Tmo or International?
My OP6 works & sends mms just fine via wifi calling. It could also be a network issue maybe.
Has anyone comes across a Pie custom ROM where WiFi Calling works?
So far, Xenon HD 8.1 is the only one that I have gotten to work.

Latest treskmod is working now as well
Try this on your custom ROM, I am on a OP6 but this should apply to the OP6T.
Add this to /system/build.prop, save and reboot:
Code:
persist.vendor.cne.feature=1
WiFi Calling should function now.
It works on AOSiP and Omni for OP6. YMMV.
I have the unlocked 6T running OOS and cannot send MMS on WiFi-Calling. All calls and SMS texts work fine, just not MMS. I am on MetroPCS which is functionally the same as T-Mobile. On my 5T everything works perfect over WiFi-Calling including MMS.
Has anyone found a solution for MMS not working over WiFi-Calling for T-Mobile/MetroPCS?
