Hey Sam, hope you had a good Thanks Giving.
I'm having a problem installing ROM factory from the market.
When I search from my device I don't get any result for RF and when I try to install from a PC the play store days it's incompatable . I've cleared Play data.
Any ideas?

All Unlocked users will receive ROM Factory 2 Unlocked Free
DB = Dropbox support will begin in v.2.0
SO = Script Options for advance features, format ext., etc.
SO+ = Script Options+ For advance Styling and script themes. support will begin in v.2.0
MP = Multiple Partitions, Any and all partitions, you choose where to back up.
DS = Device Specific builds have features that cater only to that phone. support will begin in v.2.0
This all looks crazy but let me explain.
The styles thing is cosmetic, it makes the script look different and what not. I don't know how many of you have installed any of my roms or fruit cakes, and saw the script, i always do something special. with rf2 you will be able to do the same.
the second big feature is dropbox support. create a rom and automatically uploaded to dropbox is pretty sweet. all tho i am running into some issues with dropbox and sizes, so i might end up going with box.
and last but not least the device specific option menu. this is a place where settings will go per device.
ie: the atrix has a webtop, so on the device specific settings a webtop backup option be there. for the gnex and option to create a back for other oses like webos will be there since the phone supported. nexus 7 a pre-ubuntu installation back up option, catch my drift?

Sounds great. Can't wait to try it.
And thanks for the $0.99 ROM Factory Unlocked!

iam so in love with this UI but its taking sooo long for them to release...it was showed off in the start of 2010 its more than an year now...even phones come faster than that!! like in 4 or 5 months from announcement..but this is just too much!
Thanks for the heads up! I knew they were working on it and I'm glad they are releasing a beta! Got my request in and hoping to get it!
i tried to email them and still no response at all.
reply from spb technical support :
Thank you for your message and interest in SPB Software.
We will contact you via email when we have an open slot for you. Please note that while we will try to include as many testers as possible, we may not be able to include everyone in the beta test. Signing up does not guarantee participation. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Feel free to contact us if you have any additional questions. You can always refer to this ticket using this link: http://support.softspb.com/default.asp?193293_e8r4qlpo
Best regards,
Kristina Mogilevskaya
Yeah, I emailed them ages ago and was told that they were getting thousands of requests each week and if I don't get a response within a few days it probably means I'm not getting in.
I did email them last week asking when we can expect a release and they told me that currently it's only for OEMs and Carriers and they have not announced SPB Android for end users at this time or something like that. Looks great, whatever the case.
In other news, with 150,000 apps on the marketplace it seems that I'm always discovering new awesome things. Can't believe I've never seen netfront life screen before looking at this thread. Just tried it out and it is freaking awesome. It seems to have a low rating due to lag at this time, guess we'll find out how bad it is. Really cool when I discover new things like this though.
Hi.
I have been using SPB_Shell now for a cpl of days and It is a fantastic launcher even at beta stage.
Here you go if you wish to try it out. Just pop it in system/apps using root explorer. Set permissions, Install, Reboot and as if by magic...........
Link removed on advice of fellow XDA members. I have messaged MODS to find out if this is allowed.......

Received update .30

Just received my first update, it is build number:
Acer_A500_2.6.36.3_4010.30_COM_GEN1 I had Chinese build on, then I updated
to Acer_A500_1.139.04_4.010.22_COM_GEN1. I updated .22 yesterday and the new update arrived when I started tablet about an hour ago. Can't see any difference. I live in Archbald Pennsylvania if that means anything
Let's make that +2, I also updated from 1.141.01_EMEA_GEN3 (stock, Mexico) to 4.010.22_COM_GEN1 (USA), now I'm getting 4.010.30_COM_GEN1, I'm currently in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico.
Maybe NOW they're pushing the updates worldwide, at least for COM_GEN1 devices, which is GREAT.
BTW is a 44MB download, I recommend to change the title to 4.010.30_COM_GEN1.
just got the same update. I was also on chinese one and than .22. I don't see any difference at all. I'm from Croatia.
Dito - Leaked 3.1 > .22 >.30
First install failed, then restored saved recovery and took off sd-card: second try = success.

Nice, I want to download .22 > .30, mine also failed the first time, unroot and you can update, do it before because if it fails you need to download the whole update again ((arg)), root works once updated sweet! so root.
I'm trying factory reset after my backup to see if it works and if does or doesn't wipe Acer recovery and cwm, 'cuz if it does and enter a boot loop then I'm a little screwed, will waste 20 more min of my life unbricking
same thing. I had the emea stock of mexico, and i updates manualy to the com with the help of the post here at XDA. Got update .30 20 min ago(i was rooted and everything).
I am glad too see that many people are supporting this great product, specially on mexico where the only real competition the xoom and the ipad monopoly.
Anyone knows what does this update fixes?
same here in Thailand.

No, no one knows but acer, and acer does not publish a change log or changes.
And no, Xoom is not competition for the iconia, almost $ 4,000.00 pesos more expensive, that is freaking $ 340 US dollars +, and no USB!?, only good thing is a better screen (color depth), hell ipad2 is a lot better option than a Xoom, did I mentioned is cheaper.
I also received an update this morning. It was 49 meg and my current release is 4.010.09_com_gen2.
I believe it was 4.010.08 before the update.

Same here! Was about 117 mb though

Congratulations! Xoom development is quite exciting right now. There are the mature and stable Honeycomb roms Moray 2.2.2 for wifi and 3G, one for 4G, and the Odachi kernel from Team Tiamat, as well as several kernels from Team Rogue. There is also a terrific alpha ICS (Ice Cream Sandwich) rom in development, that I'm using as a daily driver.

Was meant to be going for £199 by CPW.
They actually priced it instore for £199!
But apparently they 'messed up' and it wasnt the right price....
Tried to use price match plus 10% off at PC world
they said they rang the local cpw and said they could not as not in stock
I went over the cpw, they had 3 in stock, bought it
went back to pc world complained they'd told porkies
got a £30 free spend as a sorry we messed up
got a 16gb usb stick, a case for it, and a screen protector
I'm assuming the Xoom will get ICS officially ?

Motorola announced that the Xoom will officially get ICS a while back. At least in the US.
I also picked up a Xoom from CPW for £250, great little device! Next step, root and then ICS
I got one as well
Easiest way to root this thing?
Anyone tried that xoot ?
Sent from my MZ604 using xda premium
Im a complete noob on rooting and rom flashing
So not so keen to give it a go.
This guide is fine for setting up Android SDK (ADB):
http://alldroid.org/tabid/40/g/post...fastboot-support-in-Windows-for-the-Xoom.aspx
One note:
Download an updated Motorola USB driver, not the one in the URL.
This one is good:
http://www.motorola.com/Support/US-...tware_and_Drivers/USB-and-PC-Charging-Drivers
Version 5.4.0.
So after you have the SDK up and running on your PC and Motorola USB driver installed (and you do NOT need to touch your Xoom for that), it'll take you 3 min to unlock, flash custom recovery, and root.
Really not difficult.
Where do you guys see it for 249.99?
On their site its showing 319.99. :s
I've been trying to get one from Verizon with the contract price of $300 US, but they told me that it's no longer in production. ;/

Use the Universal Root method from the Xoom Development forums here.
Then install the latest (version 20 as of this writing) of the EOS ICS Nightlies. You won't regret it.
EOS Thread here
After every ROM update, install this gApps package over the top of your ROM to get your google apps back. More info in the thread. Solarnz has it together really well on that.

AndroidRevolution HD for note 2 1.1 DL

if anybody has a copy of the old AndroidRevolution HD 1.1 for Samsung Galaxy note 2 , i would really appericate it. I've been pulling my hair out trying to get ver 3.0 to work, but with no success. I assumed it would be as easy as 1.1 , but i was wong. One of my mistake was not making a backup after the 1.1 installation. So i'm stuck with an old image that atleast has CWM. So if anybody has this.. Thank you in advance!
thats what my repository is for

This is great, thank you! but the links for the 1.0,1.1, and 2.0 are dead. I really appreciate the effort though. Hoping someone out there has 1.1
then mike must have taken them off...

Revolution HD 19.0
Hi all,
First post ! I'm not totally new on this forum, I've been consulting them since my very first Android and Smart phone about 3 years ago when I bought the HTC Desire. I did create account back then in order to communicate with you guys, but I never got the privileges for posting so... I just kept reading.
New account made just now because I wanted to share my experience and maybe post a couple of questions (even tips, who knows) - and it does work now, which is nice ! So... Hello !!
I was an HTC protagonist and hated Samsung for their phones made of Taiwanese plastic and their Apple-like designs and commercial strategies... until my employer introduced a new Android application and provided us with new Samsung Galaxy Note 2 devices. Well - let's just say I was amazed on one hand by the speed and capabilities of my new device and disappointed on the other hand by my beloved HTC One X. It's just that - everything works better ! The only annoying bit was the keyboard, which is far less practical than the one on Sense... but that was easily set right with the installation of AI Keyboard and its Gingerbread theme.
So - my phone had just completed its very first charge after I unpacked it when I decided to root it immediately, install CMW6 recovery and flash it with Revolution HD 19.0 - which worked like a charm !
I'm very happy with this ROM ! My battery lasts clearly longer than that of my colleague's stock devices (about 48h with normal use - including a bit of gaming during number 2's, use of Wifi most of the time and Bluetooth in the car). The response is slightly faster too - for instance that app we use for work works just a little bit faster on mine. Same thing for Youtube, Facebook, Despicable Me (cool game :cyclops: ) and so on...
During the flashing it suggests the installation of some apps - well a few of them weren't installed after flashing although I did select them (I remember Maps was not installed for instance... unfortunately I don't remember what else I had to install manually). That means I'm not entirely sure all the tweaks suggested during the flashing were indeed enabled. I couldn't find any Revolution HD specific section in the settings (like you'd have on a Cyanogen ROM) - and couldn't find any app either to test and play with those tweaks. So can someone tell me if there's a way to find/modify those specific options/tweaks ?
What I also can tell is that one of my colleagues, who received the Note 2 the same day as I did, followed me with the rooting and flashing with his device... He seems to have been less lucky than me - he tells me every once in a while, when waking up the phone, he has no reaction when trying to unlock it (he just uses the screen swipe). He has to put it back to sleep and wake it up again before he can unlock it... Is this something that happens to anyone ?
So there you go - my experience is nearly flawless ! I love this ROM and will continue using it !
By the way : does anyone know how updates work with this ROM ? Do I have to backup my apps and data whenever a new Revolution HD ROM comes out for my phone and restore that backup after upgrade ? Or is there some kind of OTA-like update available ?

Well it was the first thread when searching for Revolution HD on this particular device - for one. And I wasn't allowed replying on the thread from the developer about Revolution HD 19.0.
Had I made a new thread about this, you'd have told me to look up other threads on the same topic before creating a new one...
Anyway, I sincerely apologize if I made your day worse somehow with my irrelevant post in such an old thread... I hope you will forgive me

Plasma kernel beta testers

'Tis the season for Plasma!
After weeks of development, I will soon be needing some beta testers for the Note 4 version of Plasma kernel. Sprint TW variants only right now. PM me if you are interested, and when I have something ready I will contact you.
This version of Plasma kernel is entirely new and based on Note 4 sources, with many ported features completely rewritten from the ground up. As such, right now it still lacks some features from the existing (Note 2) Plasma kernel.
Oh oh Santa aka ffolkes has come with an amazing gift it's so awesome your building ur kernel for note4 thanks so much

Clear cache/dalvik if you want, you probably don't have to.
Boot. Rarely it may immediately reboot once after the Samsung logo. I do not yet know why this happens.
For now you must manually disable Samsung's DVFS via Xposed (Wanam, etc) or similar. Don't reboot yet. In the future there will be support for hardlimit.
Download Synapse from the Play store.
Go to the "Utilities" tab and disable mpdecision and thermal-engine.
Now reboot.

Yes. The link was above, but my server is down at the moment due to sudden hard drive failure. I will be posting a new beta in a day or so. It is more stable.
I have put SO much work into this kernel, I hope people like it. The changelog (still unposted) is huge - It contains entirely new features from my wacky mind, as well as total rewrites of features from the Note2. I have gone to lengths to try to make it modular so I can maintain new features for the Note2 and Note4, and hopefully a tablet if I can ever afford one.

Hey do you think you can port this to sprints note edge pleased =)
After much server downtime, and a domain registrar transfer, things are stable again.
Plasma kernel is almost ready for a release in the Development subforum. There are so many features, it is daunting to document them.
Here is a new beta version for the Sprint Note 4 (SM-N910P) ONLY. I have only tried it on TouchWiz version NIE, but it should work for NK2 as well.
Instructions:
Nandroid at least your boot and system partition.

Wander around Synapse to see the cool things Plasma kernel has to offer.
