Subj. Does anybody research the JTAG way?
I have an information what pins on PXA272 are JTAG interface. But I don't know where it's pins traced out on mainboard. The separation of PXA272 from mainboard is impossible in my case(for a while).
Does anybody know JTAG pins on mainboard for ATOM?
What tools for PC can support JTAG? Can I make a LPT-device for the connection PDA to PC by JTAG?
Did you find jtag pimout yet ? I have the same problem as yours, dead atom !
Basicly, I've seen couple connector in PDA which I believe are JTAG pinout, I've seen it in ETEN and in Atom it seem placed near the simcard holder. You'll see eight gold circle contact on the PCB, I believe six of them are JTAG pinout.
But still can't find the info about those specific pinout.
Still find the soft, mostly run under linux needed in win
I guess JTAG is my only option for waking up my atom, so if you have any info regarding this matter, would you please share with me ??
Thank you
hi people!
I am using Gene since last one year and one thing I miss a lot with this phone is the WIFI.... I see registry entries for WIFI but no UI for Settings.
I got 2 thoughts about it:
1. The WIFI hardware is present but the device driver is not installed: so if this is the case, can i get the device driver on internet ?
2. Before GENE i used IMATE KJam. and its dumped and not working now. i was thinking if it is at all possible to de-solder the WIFI devide from IMATE KJAM and solder it on GENE motherboard. If that is possible, can I have the steps with snapshots plssssssssss.
Think people, i have a feeling that this is possible! coz I saw that nothing is impossible for you guys on this forum! so lets make this possible!

About soldering stuff i dont know and i wont recommend, unless you have some spare money for another phone.
About Wifi hardware: No the hardware is not there. the registry entries represent the Windows Mobile's internal support for Wifi. You can get wifi using an external SDIO card. These cards come with their own drivers in form of cab files and these drivers automatically provide the required UI. For example, in my case, drivers of the card i use add a new tab in Network Adapters applet in settings.
@krazy_about_technology
Since u said u r using the card....could you tell me some details like manufacturer and price !! I jus can't seem to find the card anywhere...
Krazy!!!
Thanks for ur reply man!
I can spare money for another phone.. Could you please show me where to solder that Wifi card.. also pls show where to desolder from IMATE KJAM...

Hi Any luck with this?
Working!!!
I am still working on this budddy
I don't think it is possible to remove the wifi part of another phone and solder it to GENE motherboard, or to that matter to any other phone.
This will require the redesigning of the motherboard.

+1 for that. I also don't think thats possible, unless the gene Mobo has some future upgrade options. But looking at Mobile Cos, I sincerely doubt that they have ever heard of upgradability
hi I happened to read your post .. the card is called Spectec sdw 821..availaible on amazon for 40 usd
1 simple solution is replace the mobile with sm wifi enabled phone!! dat wont screw ur gene too!!
hi I need the x10 pcb schematic. Thank's
I don't think they release the pcb schematic of any smartphone. Why do you need it?
I need it to repair communication. I've already made a charging work but I don't know how to fix communication
First of all i would like to say "sorry for my English"..i"m Serbian.
And the problem is:i own a Htc p3300 and the guy i bought it from destroyed mini usb connector. Now,on the mainboard are 11 pins to be used.I know that five of them are for usb(data and charge) and the rest of them are for sound. My plan is to place an ordinary mini usb with five pins, but the problem is that i don"t know which five pins on the mainboard to use (Vcc,Data +,Dat- and Gnd) ? If you know the answer please help! Thanks

But more seriously, if you destroyed the pads, look around for repairing broken pads. A lot of what you need is on google. YMMV.
thanx for replay my friends ...but i still not found anything in searching ..if u found any pages will help me pleas past the link....and thank u again
did you tried to track the damaged pad in your phone service schematic ? best way I know to find your lost pad .
