Its weak I can't even notice it while its on NY table my s3 was perfect vibrations were great

I'm the same, I barely notice the vibrations. This is in comparison to my Bother's Blackberry Curve which makes me jump out of my skin when it vibrates. I guess it's good that we have the LED at the front so we don't miss messages.

Normal operating temperatures?

This phone gets hot! I'm at 103°F right now while charging with lowest screen brightness and just going thru xda and the web. Should I worry?

That's about right 40 degree Celsius ..... I don't think you need to worry
Really? It feels so dangerous though..
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
Phones always seem to get hotter while charging anyway
That's roughly 39-40C which is normal for a smartphone under constant usage and/or load. My Galaxy Nexus was around 38-39C whenever I used it for extended periods, that's nothing to be worried about.
My single core 1ghz galaxy s is AF 40° charging, browsing web and on xda. Your fine.

It probably just feels really hot because of the glass back, but as everyone has said, that's not too hot at all, pretty normal, especially when charging.
Thanks guys. So what temperatures should I look out for?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
Don't worry about it, OP. The phone will throttle itself to lower the temp if it gets too hot. In an extreme situation it will shut down. The engineers took care of this. It'll be OK.
You remind me of first time parents who boil everything before the baby can touch it. By kid number 2, they just pick the pacifier up off of the ground, wipe it off and pop it in the kid's mouth.

This phone does get hotter than the Galaxy Nexus, but it's nothing compared my HTC Sensation. The hottest phone I have ever lay my hands on.
Btw, anyone know any good apps to record the temperatures?

Hmm idk about that. My Sensation did get crazy hot when I used the Chichitec battery in it but when I switched to the Anker battery I rarely noticed any heat anymore. But this N4 seems to be up there, maybe a little more than I ever felt my Sensation.

Nexus 4 display and speaker

I usually keep my phones on full brightness. I'll deal with the battery draining because I love how it looks with full brightness. Has anyone noticed the display on the n4 kind of adjusting sometimes. I have noticed sometimes it changes to a little darker or a little brighter while using the phone.
I also noticed when I am talking on the phone with the speaker on sometimes it shuts when opening an application or sometimes even without opening an app and switches to regular ear piece. Sometimes it will stay on speaker but go lower.
Anyone having these issues? Its not a deal breaker or anything I still love it. I know phones will always have their issues, I've had ever nexus and the g1. I just want to know if other people are having this issue.

My guess is glitch hardware. Lg is known for making inconsistent quality. Terrible QA. Just because its made in Korea doesn't means its better than in China.

I don't know how you can use this display on full brightness it's too damn bright! Strains my eyes. lol I tend to keep mine around the 25% mark
It's adaptive contrast, runs independent of your brightness settings and there's not an option to disable it. You probably notice it most when moving from a largely black screen to a white one.
I think I remember first hearing about it's use in a Galaxy S2 review, my TV does the same thing on its dynamic setting.

Slight 'click' or 'pop' noise occasionally heard on screen touch

Even when my phone is muted this happens. Its a faint click or pop noise I'll sometimes hear coming from my phone when I click on something. This is with everything muted, its not the normal haptic feedback or anything like that. Anyone else have this issue??
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
From where does the sound originate? The speaker? The screen? The edge?
It sounds like your phone has a loose part. Clamp it firmly on the face and back, the make sure the torx screws on the bottom and appropriately tightened. Do not overtighten, for you risk cracking your phone from the stress that might occur from doing so.
Woah haha, I just created a thread about this

I have it too. Comes from the speaker. Mine happens about 70 percent of the time when clicking on something on screen. Interestingly, it doesn't happen when using the keyboard.
It must be something in software. Currently running the latest PA3 rom.

[Q] Any Nexus 4's Without Backlight Bleed?

I've already tried out 3 brand new Nexus 4's, and they all exhibit light bleed around the top right corner.
I know, I know; I'm being obsessive or nit-picky. But, just humor me for a second, and chime in on the topic....
Anybody got a Nexus 4 without any lightbleed whatsoever? You should be comfortable around 30-50% brightness and have no uneven backlighting around the top border....
Does a perfect Nexus 4 even exist?
Thanks fellas
No bleeding here

I swear my Nexus 4 is the best phone I've had! Better than the SG3 and the One X I've owned! BTW no light bleed on mine.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
Minor light bleed at the top & bottom.. although it is very minor. I really have to try to see it. I would say for a normal person, they would think it has "no light bleed". But to us perfectionists yes it's there.
I know this is asking a lot, but would someone with a perfect device mind posting a pic with your brightness turned up with your notifications dropped down?
No bleeding here either and I'm on Rev 11
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
Lots of light bleed here in the top right corner. Nov 2012 version, rev10
Don't really care though.
No bleed and I bought mine at an insanely bright tmobile at sunset.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
Maybe for some of the people who say they have a perfect device, just dont notice it or their brightness is too low..
someone, please, put my OCD worries to rest and snap a shot of your phone with no lightbleed with the notification dropped down with at least 50% brightness.
I will be in your debt.
Is this what your looking for? Sorry I'm half ass sleeping right now.

[Q] nexus 4 camera

We all know that N4 has a very bad camera..specially in low light photos..photos have very much dots..They seems good on mobile but when zoomed even a little its pathetic.
Was anyone able to find out what the issue is..? is it software or hardware..?
If its software related than is there any solution..?

Low light noise, no tap to snap picture, horrendous flash photos.
It's just not as good as the Galaxy S2+ I was going to sell.
The camera is the biggest disappointment for me as a one week N4 owner. I'm seriously considering selling the phone.
I tried the Moto X apk, which seemed to be a little better on the noise front, but I can't live with that aspect ratio. "Focal" was even worse than the stock camera.

No We are just expecting a decent camera..coz i think its a make or break feature for a smartphone..accept it or not..camera is not good enough on N4. And please i was just asking a question, its not about what i expect.
Just FYI i have a DHD and its camera is great..even in low light

I just wanted to know whats causing this Low light Noise..i love the phone and i am using it from last 6 months..but if someone could figure out the root cause than i guess it could be solved..
I don't in any way think the N4 has a terrible camera. The pictures of takes for me at least are clear and sharp.. Way better than my S2 and honestly look just as good as my brothers Optimus g and NY wife's Note 2..
Not sure what your talking about..

Yea, I concur. I'm able to take great pictures with this phone. I'm not sure what the issue is. I mean I did come from the Evo 4G to this though, that phone had so many camera issues so I guess anything is better.
After reading around the subject, the only thing I've that gives me any hope is someone suggested using Snap Camera HDR app and fixing the ISO at 100. I'll be giving it a try in the hope of reducing noise in the pictures my N4 makes. Ta-ta, PmT
I am not expecting a 5DmkIII quality but I was expecting the camera to be as good as the one on my Galaxy S2 Plus (also 8MP).
My camera works great for a phone.

you dont have to tap the screen. long press the shoot button until its focused, then release. or in 4.3, you can hold down the down volume button then releae when focused.
btw some recent photos..
This phone sold for $200, of you want better camera you're going to have to shell out more money for other phones with better camera.
If you want less noise in low light shoot with iso 100. Or get n HTC One.

I have been running 4.3 since it was leaked and have had no issues. I did have a couple of apps that were misbehaving, but once the devs updated for 4.3 compatibility, they were fixed.
